Below are a number of quotes from Noel Gallagher on Super Sunday yesterday.
On record-breaking City...
"We did it. We got the record. It was a tough game. When it was 1-1, I didn't know how it was going to pan out. But we were brilliant. You didn't want to lose that record here - I've been here when they play 'glory, glory Man Utd' and not let you out of the stadium. You could get battered here but today we stood up to it. They never stop playing. There's no long balls. It's going to be a great night in Manchester tonight - I don't think I'll be going home."
On David Silva...
"Dave will go down as the best player we ever had, although the longer Kevin De Bruyne stays here, he'll get close. He's the best player I've ever seen play for City. The only thing Pep would change would be that he's not three years younger. There was a moment when City kept the ball by the corner flag for a few minutes and we were saying that the old United team, somebody would have taken those players out - but United were accepting that the game had gone."
On Pep Guardiola...
"When the new owners took over, he was the guy they wanted and it's all coming to fruition now. When he arrived, the club asked me to do an interview with him for City TV and we've kept in touch. He's a dude. There's not many people in football who actually like talking about football - he would gladly talk to you about what's going on. He does exactly what he says on the tin. Long may it continue."
On sitting next to Gary Neville...
"It's great to be sat next to a football legend [turns to Graeme Souness] - and Gary Neville."
On United fans...
"It's payback time - Gary [Neville] has lauded it up at ours many times down the years. It's a pleasure to be sat beside him. Respect to the United fans who clapped Pep Guardiola off - they know they've seen something special today."
On Jose Mourinho's post-match interview...
"The hypocrisy of the man is staggering."

Noel Gallagher
Some of Noel Gallagher's quotes from the Sky Sport's Manchester derby Super Sunday.
Speaking before kick-off, he said: “I don’t like derby days, too nervous.
At the start of the show
“I think my fans would rather go to bed and wake up and have a draw and move on but it’s great to be here sat beside a football legend – and Gary Neville.”
On Manchester City winning the title.
“We could win today and lose to Spurs next week.
“When we started the season and hammering teams but recently we have dug in and we have never had that before. City used to be brilliant or lose.
Most teams now come to us and put 10 behind the ball.”
On Manchester United “You fear them in a derby. But win lose or draw we leave top. I’ll take a 6-0 now.
“The players have confidence, this is the best I have ever seen city play, they had a swagger when we murdered Watford, who were fourth. And the last three games.”
At half time with the score 1-1 “Yeah (I’m slightly disappointed), If we go in 1-0 up it’s a different game second half."
“But it’s been fascinating watching this fella here having a mental breakdown up until the goal. If I knew when I’m watching from home that this is what he’s like when he’s watching Manchester United, it’s going to make it all the more enjoyable for me this season I think. He was having a bad day up until the goal, he was having a bad day.”
On Manchester City goalscorer Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.
On Silva “Always, he’s the main man,” .
On De Bruyne “When you’ve got him and De Bruyne backing him up, they’re difficult to get the ball off of.”
Noel Gallagher on Jose Mourinho's comments that Manchester United should have had a penalty after Herrera got booked for diving.
“This is why people don’t like him, the hypocrisy of that man is staggering."

Jose Mourinho has said that Noel Gallagher's appearance as a panelist on Sky Sports' coverage of the Manchester derby is like him assuming a role as a judge on the Eurovision song contest.
Gallagher will join regular pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher at Old Trafford tommorow to offer his views on one of the most eagerly anticipated derby games in many years.
When asked about Gallagher’s inclusion on the Sky panel, Mourinho smiled and offered up this cheeky answer.
"Noel is a big Man City fan, that's not a problem at all," stated Mourinho.
"I think if someone invite me to be a pundit on the Eurovision Song Contest I wouldn't go. I wouldn't risk myself. If Noel wants to do that, brave man."

Taken from an interview with Gary Neville and Pep Guardiola read/watch the full article here.
From the passionate fans to the culture in Manchester, Guardiola spoke highly of the city, and revealed which member of Oasis he messages on a regular basis.
"Even last season it was not good in terms of results, but people here were so nice. Here the culture to respect this sport is fantastic. Everybody speaks about that," Guardiola said.
"The city is alive, in terms of the theatre, the restaurants, the museums, the shows, it's every week. And then there's concerts and concerts. It's nice to live this way because in Catalonia it's completely different.
Neville then asked Guardiola about music in Manchester, to which Guardiola replied: "Of course Oasis. Noel Gallagher - I think I can say we are friends, so we text a lot. I met him two or three times, I went with my family to the last concert here at the Arena, so it's good - with a new band.
"He was in one of the best rock groups in the whole of history.
And when Neville notified Guardiola that Noel would be part of Sky Sports' coverage at Old Trafford, the City boss said: "Oh yeah? That's good, I didn't know. He told me he was going to Old Trafford but I didn't know it was there [with Sky]. Please, take care of him."

Noel Gallagher has joked that he shunned his son after he suggested he get his hair cut like Gary Barlow
Gallagher revealed his thoughts on the Take That singer in a new interview with XFM Manchester. Despite a long standing feud between Take That's Robbie Williams and Oasis, Noel conceded that Barlow is "alright".
"Gary's alright, my wife likes Gary Barlow," he said. "My son actually said to me once, 'You should get your hair cut like Gary Barlow'… I've shunned him since, he now lives in the shed!"
Gallagher also offered his opinion on another famous Mancunian, former Manchester United player Gary Neville. He said: "I'm not gonna say anything now that I'd not say to his face. When he played for United I fucking loathed him, and I wished bad things upon him! But since I've met him, and since he's been a pundit on Sky, I think he's brilliant. I think he's one of the best of all time.
"I wish City would have had a player like him, someone that had grown up supporting the club and come through and played for England and all that. But he's a good lad, he's the pantomime villain at City. And he's a massive Oasis fan so… He's getting cooler by the word here isn't he?"
Gallagher made a triumphant return to Manchester earlier this week as part of his UK arena tour. He was joined onstage at Manchester Arena by Johnny Marr and the pair performed 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' together during the encore. The single features on Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' second album, the recently released 'Chasing Yesterday'. Marr plays guitar on the album version, but this was the first time the pair performed the track together in public. Gallagher has called it one of his best songs, thanks to Marr's contribution.
Gallagher's tour has seem him play a number of Oasis songs, including 'Fade Away', 'Champagne Supernova', 'Digsy's Dinner', 'Don't Look Back In Anger' and 'The Masterplan'.

Gary Neville was given a signed guitar from former Oasis man Noel Gallagher recently, which is a great piece of memorabilia to have in your collection.
But unfortunately for Manchester United veteran Neville, City-supporting Gallagher signed it in the most City way imaginable and made sure it would have his mark on it forever.
Neville finally tweeted the pictures on Sunday morning:
And on the back was added a message.
Still, not a bad talking point, even if it does feature some personal abuse...

Manchester City's most famous fan has admitted that the blue half of Manchester may never be as big a club as their city rivals.
Former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher also said that City shouldn't be expanding their stadium, as they can't even fill its current capacity.
Speaking before Sunday's Manchester derby, Gallagher told Gary Neville that City had changed for the better, but will never be able to rival United as a brand.
'When you started it went from a big club to a mega brand,' Gallagher said to Neville on Sky Sports. 'I don't think City can ever get that.'
'I'm not sure it's a good idea to boost that stadium to 60,000.Because, really, if we were going to get that there'd be 10,000 locked out the stadium every week. When you look at the games and go to the games, there are empty seats.'
However, the City fan also hit out at United supporters over their perceived hypocrisy about spending power.
'It's the hypocrisy I hate,' continued Gallagher. 'They've been slagging City off for years and as soon as the big bad wolf's out the door, it's raining tenners!'
City have been successful in the fixture in recent times, winning five of the last six Premier League meetings.
And with his team finishing a massive 22 points clear of United last season, it is perhaps justified that Gallagher said he would only want David de Gea at his club out of Louis van Gaal's squad.
'I'd take the goalie, straight away,' Gallagher conceded, before joking: 'He could carry Joe [Hart's] kit around, he's a good No 2.
Gallagher also couldn't resist goading Neville about City's first Premier League win over their rivals, when the United defender was at fault for a Shaun Goater goal.
The musician described it as one of his favourite derby memories, before adding that 'It was a special moment'.
'We all knew you were getting the hair-dryer the moment you got in that dressing room.'

Gary Neville Says Noel Gallagher Tagged His Guitar With Manchester City Graffiti
Former Manchester United FC captain Gary Neville has said that Noel Gallagher once tagged his guitar with Manchester City FC graffiti.
The football legend reveals the story in a new documentary, The Class of '92, explaining that he sent his guitar to the former Oasis man so he could sign it, but that it came back to him with "MCFC" - Gallagher's team - written on it.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the incident, Neville explained that he still has the instrument. "Yes, at home," he said of the guitar's whereabouts. "I had it up on my wall at one point, in an apartment in Manchester. But then I took it down - I've not got anything on my walls now in terms of memorabilia."
He added: "I was a big Oasis fan, started learning the guitar for a few years and just sent it him one day. I got it back with that! Shouldn't have been surprised, really!"
Noel Gallagher recently rubbished claims that he will be taking part in an Oasis reunion. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Gallagher commented: "We are split up. You've heard that, haven't you? You must've heard... Yeah, so, ergo, band splits up, band is no more. There is no band. So, no, I won't be getting involved, anyway. If there is a reunion, I won't be in it."
Noel's brother Liam told NME last year that he would be interested in "burying the hatchet for a lap of honour" for Oasis, who split in 2009 following a fight between the siblings before the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Rio Ferdinand

Gary Neville was part of a Manchester United team famous for their never-say-die attitude.
And that spirit is living on in his Twitter and text antics now he has hung up his boots to concentrate on eco-projects, punditry and grooming his wee 'tache.
The ex-England star is fighting back in his battle with Noel Gallagher after the Oasis star hammered him for quoting the band's lyrics on Twitter.
And the war of words is being conducted by text message - with GNev's former team-mate Rio Ferdinand acting as middle man, passing the pair's messages to each other.
After Noel's insult in Bizarre earlier this week, Gary responded: "Shouldn't you be writing a new album or has your pen run out of ink?" Man City fan Noel replied: "My pen runs on pure gold. Ink's for your daft mates' tattoos."
GNev answered: "Gold? If you take any longer you'll be on UK Gold."
But the final word went to Mr Big: "The thought of you humming my new tunes while combing your 'tache in the mirror makes me want to take another year off. But if you promise not to buy a copy when it comes out I'll get a move on."
It'll die down this weekend. Neither of them have anything to moan about with City in the FA Cup final today and United close to a historic double in the league and Europe. Shame.
It's been good while it lasted.

Noel Gallagher

It has been a while since Noel Gallagher served up one of his razor-sharp verbal volleys.
But Gary Neville is just the kind of comedy character to spark the full force of a Scud missile from the former Oasis hero.
Earlier this week Gary took the liberty of quoting Noel's classic track Fade Away on Twitter after Manchester United all but wrapped up the Premier League title.
He wrote: "'While we're living, the dreams we have as children fade away.' Not if you support United!"
Like little Gary playing the offside trap, it has gone pear-shaped.
Here is Manchester City fanatic Mr N Gallagher's response:
"I feel violated. If Mr Neville continues to use the holy scriptures of Oasis to communicate with the Cockney massive, I shall be forced to come up to Cheshire in the middle of the night, break into his house, tie him to a chair, make him listen to the Best Of Simply d(Red)ful while I pull his tash out one grey hair at a time (with my teeth), liberate those Oasis CDs and s*** in his manbag. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED..."
Delivered like a Nigel De Jong tackle - with two feet just above the ankle.
So there you go Gary-boy, that's another stinger to add to the classic insult from yesteryear from your old City adversary.
The veteran Reds defender and former England misery-guts - who retired this season - once sent Noel a guitar to sign as a little birthday treat to himself.
It came back with the affectionate marker pen message: "Happy Birthday knobhead. MCFC x."
The beauty of Twitter is the fact Mr Neville has the chance to reply to Noel.
He's won every trophy possible at club level, but he'll get no silverware in this slagging match.

Noel Gallagher
Oasis

Manchester United legend Gary Neville borrowed a line from City fan Noel Gallagher as he celebrated the Reds taking a decisive step towards a record 19th league title.
Neville was among a string of United players past and present who posted their views on Twitter after the 2-1 win over Chelsea.
The former club captain, who retired from the game this season and has only recently set up an account on Twitter, posted a message on Sunday evening saying: “'While we're living the dreams we have as children fade away' Not if you support United!”
The line is a quote from the Oasis song Fade Away, penned by lifelong City fan Noel Gallagher.
While United still need one point to secure the league title, several of the current first team took to Twitter to vent their joy after the Chelsea win.

Gary Neville
Liam Gallagher
Mario Balotelli
Wayne Rooney

Liam Gallagher has started the Alex Ferguson-style mind games ahead of Man City's FA Cup semi-final against Man U by slating shop steward Gary Neville.
Asked about Mario Balotelli's antics by BBC Football Focus, the Beady Eye singer said: "What a geezer. I mean, all that throwing darts at people.
"That's not cool - a water balloon would have done. You know what I mean?
"But I like characters. If the world was full of f***ing Gary Neville's man, it would be bobbins, wouldn't it?
"He just looks like an estate agent."
He's got a point.
Foul-mouth Liam did defend the now retired Gary's former teammate Wayne Rooney though, after his four-letter rant into a TV camera.
The frontman said: "I don't know what the big fuss is about, you know.
"I suppose there's a lot of kids out there called Sebastian who will find it horrific that he's swearing down the camera.
"But it happens, young man."
