Noel Gallagher And The High Flying Birds will release a self-titled album on October 17th - the first of two albums already in the can, according to the guitarist, who is speaking at a press conference in London.
The albums were recorded in London and LA. Very interestingly as far as we're concerned, the second LP is a collaboration with the deeply cosmic Amorphous Androgynous.
Musicians on the record include drummer Jeremy Stacey, keyboard player Mikey Rowe, Becky Byrne, pedal steel guitarist Jon Graboff, Portuguese percussionist Luis Jardim and American percussionist Lenny Castro. Further details shortly.

Liam Gallagher
Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher is prepared for his brother Noel's "party political broadcast" today (06.07.11).
The Beady Eye frontman couldn't resist taking a swipe at his former Oasis bandmate - who has called a press conference this morning, where he is expected to announce the details of his debut solo album - as his band performed at the iTunes Festival in London last night (05.07.11).
As Beady Eye prepared to launch into their track 'Bring The Light', Liam told the crowd: "Are you ready for the party political broadcast tomorrow? Are you? Well we like rock 'n' roll."
Beady Eye features four of the five members of Oasis when they disbanded in 2009, with Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock joining Liam.
The band refuse to play any Oasis songs live and Liam has claimed his split with Noel - which caused the breakup of Oasis - is final and he doesn't feel the guitarist will be as successful without him.
He said: "The people that go, 'Oh, Beady Eye is not Oasis,' well, I'll tell you what - you wait until you hear Noel's music because that ain't gonna be Oasis either. It might remind you of it but there'll be something missing. And what'll be missing is f**king me."
"I had a great time singing Oasis songs, without a doubt. But I think Oasis is beatable, man. With Oasis we did experiment but Noel was holding back the reins a bit."
At their iTunes show, Beady Eye played tracks from their debut album 'Differnt Gear, Still Speeding', including 'Millionaire' and 'Wigwam', ending their set with their cover version of Word of Twist's 'Sons of the Stage'.

Alan McGee
Noel Gallagher
Oasis

Noel Gallagher looks certain to reveal his debut solo album plans at a press conference in London tomorrow, Wednesday 6 July. Invites have been circulated from Gallagher's own Sour Mash label for the event, which is set to be a guest list only affair.
MusicRadar will have a roving reporter on the inside so stay tuned for updates, but in the meantime, what do we know already?
In 2008, Noel claimed to have "loads of new songs... and they're all brilliant", while following the Oasis split in 2009, rumours began to fly around, with Alan McGee perhaps predictably chiming in to say that Gallagher's new material is "totally amazing."
2011 has seen recent sightings in LA studios and a hastily-withdrawn announcement from a production company claiming to have worked on a video for a track called The Death Of You And Me. This will almost certainly be the title of Noel's debut solo single.
This 'leaked' tracklisting now seems unlikely to be 100 percent accurate, although we still wonder if lost Noel songs from the Oasis era such as Stop The Clocks, I Want To Live In A Dream In My Record Machine and If I Had A Gun might finally get an official release. Liam certainly seems to think so.
One thing's for sure, we'll know more tomorrow and as soon as we do, you will too. Here's hoping that Noel's new songs are this good.
