Noel Gallagher Stunned At Unfinished Tracks On Youtube

Noel Gallagher has vowed to join the digital age and learn about modern technology after discovering fans were finishing his half-written songs and posting them online.

The former Oasis star likes to work on ideas for new tracks during concert soundchecks, and he had no idea onlookers were secretly recording him.

He later found out the bootleg tapes of his embryonic songs had been posted on YouTube.com - and was stunned to see fans had been completing the tracks for him.

Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "Some were written on the last (Oasis) tour, when I used to feel them out by getting my acoustic guitar and strumming them after soundcheck, because you sound like Jesus in a big arena. A year later someone comes up to me and says: 'Have you got a song called If I Had A Gun?'. (I said) 'Yes... why?' There wasn't even a demo of this.

"Turns out some kids have been taping the soundchecks on mobile phones and posting them up on the internet. I haven't got a computer and I'm completely oblivious to it all, so I check it out and there are kids on YouTube finishing them off! I'm thinking, 'They're covering my songs before I've written them?'. I need to keep an eye on this s**t."

The video for the new single from former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher has accumulated over 253,000 views in 24 hours, currently making it the tenth most watched video on July 26.

The video titled "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - The Death of You and Me"debuted on YouTube on July 25 and as of 10:45 GMT July 26 had attracted 253,772 views and was ranked tenth in YouTube's "most watched today" chart.

"The Death of You and Me" is the first single from Noel Gallagher's new album Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, which will be available on October 17.

Following the breakup of Oasis, Noel's brother, singer Liam Gallagher also chose to continue his music career by forming the band Beady Eye, which incorporated former bandmates Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock.

Noel Gallagher: ‘I’m Not a Guitarist, I’m a Songwriter’

Ex-Oasis kingpin Noel Gallagher has spoken about his forthcoming solo album, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Interviewed by the U.K.’s Mojo magazine, Noel also lifts the lid on the physical battles with singer/brother Liam that split Oasis in 2009.

“There was a bit of kung-fu,” says Noel, who says the band finally split when Liam threw a plum (yes, the soft fruit) and then swung a guitar at Noel’s head. “It could have taken my face off,” says Noel, “so I may have smashed it to bits.”

Of his High Flying Birds album, due in October, Noel Gallagher says he hasn’t tried to write songs any differently. “I never think about how a song compares to other stuff, as long as I’m getting across what I’m trying to. Singers think about what they’re singing. I’m not a singer. Guitarists think about what they’re playing. I’m not a guitarist… I’m a songwriter.

“That’s actually the biggest change. I don’t have to tell someone what the song’s about. In that sense, it’s easier.”

Noel Gallagher also talked about his first solo single, “People Who Will Be (The Death of You and Me).”

“People think it was a conscious decision to say: ‘Right, I’m going to do something different.’ But this is just what came out. It’s my favorite song on the album because when the brass kicks in you are in New Orleans.”

Liam Gallagher Left 'Creepy' Messages For Noel

Liam Gallagher left a series of "weird and creepy" messages on his brother Noel's voicemail as Oasis fell apart.

The pair haven't spoken since the Wonderwall hitmakers split following a backstage bust-up at a gig in Paris, France in 2009.
Noel Gallagher recently insisted Liam sparked the spat by demanding to advertise his fashion range in Oasis tour programmes - and now he's accused the singer of attempting to unnerve him with late-night phone messages.

The guitarist claims his brother's campaign was so prolific he was forced to change his number - and alleges Liam then targeted his girlfriend instead.

Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "The tour started and everything was all right, but then the f**king clothing thing started up, and he wanted to advertise in the tour programme. I said no... He hit the f**king roof.

"From then on I would be getting up in the morning and our answering machine would have strange messages from him in the middle of the night. It started off as offensive, then weird, and finally creepy. We changed our number. I'd go in the next day and say, 'What was that all about?' and he'd say, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'

"When we changed our number he started leaving messages on my (girlfriend's) phone. She'd get up in the morning and there would be things like, 'Tell your f**king boyfriend...'. This was insane."

Liam Gallagher declined to comment on his brother's claims.

Noel Gallagher Says Liam Needs Beady Eye Wake-Up Call

Noel Gallagher says someone needs to "waft" his brother Liam with a "wet towel" if he thinks he can eclipse Oasis' success.

The 'Death of You and Me' singer has scoffed at his estranged sibling's boasts his new band, Beady Eye, could become bigger than the super-group they were in together.

When asked what he felt about Liam's comments his new band will be more successful than Oasis, Noel told Q magazine: "Someone needs to lie Liam down and waft him with a wet towel."

The 44-year-old guitarist quit Oasis in August 2009 following a huge backstage fight with Liam, who Noel claims tried to take his "face off" with a guitar during the bust-up.

Despite the turbulent atmosphere in his former band, Noel admits he does "miss" certain things about the group, and says he didn't find it easy choosing which musicians to work with on his new project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

The musician - who is releasing his solo album of the same name in October - explained: "I had two options: you either get a load of kids in, and then you end up looking like Bryan Ferry. Or you don't and you have mates - but then, I don't know many 44-year-olds that aren't bald. But it fell into place nicely. It's the noble thing to do, bands are for the young."

Noel Gallagher Almost Abandoned New Album

Noel Gallagher almost quit recording his upcoming experimental album after his collaborators forced him to perform endless re-takes.

The former Oasis frontman headed into the studio with British dance duo Amorphous Androgynous to lay down tracks for a psychedelic record to accompany his debut solo release later this year (11).

He was startled by his collaborators Gaz Cobain and Brian Dougans' attention to detail and their habit of recording the same piece of music numerous times - and they almost came to blows as his temper boiled over.

Gallagher tells Mojo magazine, "Gaz Cobain made me record and record, and when he heard something he liked he would film it. Then his colleague Brian Dougans would go off and cut everything up and use a bass line for one track and a drum loop for another.

"I almost called it off on the first day when Gaz made me play the same guitar line for five hours and 10 minutes... On the 27th take we nearly came to blows."

Robbie Williams Wants To Work With Noel Gallagher

British singer Robbie Williams wants to put his longstanding feud with Noel Gallagher behind him for good, by writing music with the former Oasis star.

The Angels hitmaker and the rocker enjoyed a short-lived friendship in the 1990s, but they later fell out and became embroiled in a public feud, in which Gallagher famously branded Williams "the fat dancer from Take That".

Now the singer has made moves to patch up his fragmented relationship with Gallagher, by posting a video of the star's new solo single on his official blog alongside the words, "I know it's pretty redundant, but I'd love to write with him."

Williams, who has reunited with Take That for the first time in 15 years, had reignited the spat earlier this year (11) by taunting the guitarist during a sold-out run of gigs with his band.

The star bragged about performing a series of eight concerts at London's huge Wembley Stadium, saying, "The Rolling Stones have done two nights here. Oasis did three - Take That are here for eight on the trot... Noel Gallagher can lick my a**e."

"There's a great scene when Clint Eastwood's character leaves Tuco (El Wallach), the little guy to die in the desert. It's epic, brilliantly written, the story is great, and they all end up in a graveyard in a three-way shoot off. It looks good as well, Clint Eastwood wears three outfits in the entire film and I'd were them all. I'd save the poncho for Glastonbury".

Noel Gallagher To Release “If I Had A Gun” As Debut American Single?

It has been reported that Noel Gallagher will not be releasing “The Death Of You And Me” as his first single in America, instead opting for album track “If I Had A Gun”.

According to www.edge.ca the track should be available for fans to listen to within the next month.

Noel Gallagher Wrote Third Solo Album

British rocker Noel Gallagher planned to launch his solo career with three new albums - but he abandoned the idea after becoming "sick" of writing new tracks.

The former Oasis guitarist hit a creative peak as he penned new songs following the band's breakup in 2009, and announced earlier this month (Jul11) he is to release two albums - a solo record and a collaboration with British psychedelic duo Amorphous Androgynous.

Now he's revealed he had enough new material to put out a third record, titled The Future Of Martial Arts, but gave up the plan because he was tired of songwriting.

Gallagher tells Q magazine, "Now I'm a free agent I thought I've got all these songs, so I'll make two records - but between you and me I made three, the third was going to be called The Future Of Martial Arts. I had nine great songs but had to split them up. I wanted to do some work with Amorphous Androgynous... so I made the albums concurrently. It was really exciting being that creative, but by the end I was sick of it."

Noel said "If I say it's shit, people will say that I'm only saying that because it's Liam. If I say it's great, people say the same thing. I have no opinion on it. I honestly haven't heard the album but I've seen them on the telly, and fair play to them, man, they're doing it. I hope that when my record comes out people don't compare the two because they're completely different things."

The Beady Eye rocker - who has three children, Molly, 13, Lennon, 11, and 10-year-old Gene - and his wife Nicole Appleton met with the childcare expert when she appeared on Alan Carr's 'Chatty Man' show, and admitted they are big fans of her work.

Jo exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I was on the 'Alan Carr' show the other day and I met Liam Gallagher and his wife. They were pleasant, very very pleasant. They both said how they love the work that I do in reaching out and helping the public.

"At the end of the day, celebrity or no celebrity - you're a mum and a dad when you go home. You may be an inspiration in the artiste world but to your daughter and your son you're good old mum and dad."

When you’re supporting big acts like Arctic Monkeys and Beady Eye – does that help attract a wider fan base?

Yeah, I think when we did the tour with Beady Eye, six dates in the UK and two in Europe and that was around March time. I think after that my confidence has just been growing, I should thank the boys in the band as they’ve helped me grow so much live. I absolutely love what I do, playing those songs and I love rocking out on stage. When I don’t do it for a night I hate it, I’m just totally so happy at the moment and I just want to continue it. Carry on the steady build that we’re doing.

You worked with Noel Gallagher on the album – how was that?

Well I think that was the press blowing things out of the water. For me, we’d been hanging out for a bit and I was mixing in the final stages of the album and he came down to the studio for a hang out and a coffee. I was going in to do my vocals and he was like can you just write down the words for me? And then he just went in and did it, which was ****ing great. So unreal, me sat at the control desk and I’m telling Noel what to do, just a nice afternoon. That story then got completely changed and people made out like he was all over the album, which wasn’t the case.
