Noel Gallagher has been speaking to Mojo about his project with Amorphous Androgynous, which is due for release next summer.
The album, which doesn't have a title as yet, is a collaboration with psychedelic collective Amorphous Androgynous and Noel has said that it takes in genres that he would have stayed well clear of in his days with his former band.
Speaking to the current issue of Mojo he said: "There are three songs from High Flying Birds on that, but they are barely recognisable. Then there's ten original compositions, but it's all one long piece of music, inspired with spoken word. It's fu*king good man. I'd go in Paul Weller's studio and there'd be twenty people there - like fu*kin hippies. I'd be 'alright mate?' (Leslie Phillips voice) Air-hair-lair! I'm Gethsemane, I'm going to be playing marimba...!' You look like a wizard what the f*ck?! Then I'd go back to the sanity of my own record - three minutes, what a relief."
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Bird's is released next month.
Noel Gallagher has claimed that modern rock 'n' roll is "f**king bad".
The singer-songwriter insisted that the genre will become popular again despite its recent decline in quality and popularity.
Gallagher told NME: "It's got to come. Although two years ago people may have gone, 'Oh it's a bit s**t', it's really f**king bad now.
"And when it's really bad, there's somebody somewhere - who's either like Ian Brown, Liam [Gallagher] or Bobby Gillespie or a songwriter like me - who's going to tell a story."
He continued: "That's all rock 'n' roll is; it's retelling the story of rock 'n' roll, which is a great f**king story. Music snobs and people who vote for the Mercury Music Prize, when this band come along, will think it has all been done before.
"But it's only a story that needs f**king retelling for a new generation. Rock 'n' roll is gone at the minute, but it will never die - because Neil Young said so."
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will make their network television debut on the Late Show With David Letterman on November 10th.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' new video for "If I Had A Gun" debuts today at Fuse and on VEVO. The video was directed by Mike Bruce and filmed at The Paramour in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. The video features Peyton List from Madmen as the bride and Tim Murphy from Criminal Minds as the father of the bride. The video will debut on MTV and VH-1 tomorrow, September 27th.
Noel Gallagher had originally intended his first solo release to be his record with Amorphous Androgynous, but he worried it would ''f**k with people's heads''.
Noel Gallagher delayed his collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous because it would "f**k people's heads".
The former Oasis rocker has recorded two albums, and decided to release the more traditional sounding 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' first as he felt the other record - which was made with the experimental electronic producers - would be too much of a departure for his fans.
Explaining why he didn't release his dance-influenced record first, Noel said: "I thought it would f**k people's heads up too much."
Four tracks appear on both albums, but in very different forms. Speaking about the work Amorphous Androgynous did on the song 'If I Had A Gun', Noel told Time magazine: "They've not destroyed it, but demolished it and put it back together again."
Although he has taken a departure on one album, 'The Death of You and Me' assures fans that his High Flying Birds project will have plenty of tracks which will please his fans.
He said: "I can't decide how many it sells. If you like what I do, there's lots on there for you to like, but also some stuff that you wouldn't expect.
"And if you don't like what I do, believe you me there's enough on there for you to hate."
Liam Gallagher has said his most inspired moment was when he finished working on Oasis' I'm Outta Time.
The song was written by Liam and featured on the final Oasis album Dig Out Your Soul, and was also released as a single on 1 December 2008.
Speaking to Q the singer said "I suppose I'm Outta Time. When I finished that, I thought, "Yeah, man, there's something in this writing business. I should keep it up and not throw in the towel." I think that was the one. Cos a lot of my songs, verses repeat and shit like that. And I don't have the big anthem chords. But I pulled that one off. I'm proud of that".
