Noel Gallagher "I Do What I Want When I Want To Do It"

Noel Gallagher has spoken about his album 'Who Built The Moon?' and said "it's a great record.

He told i-D “The record will stand up. I have no doubts about that. I’ve listened to it enough, I know what it is. It’s a great record. And it’s a great rock and roll record and I’ll tell you why. I go round the world and I do interviews a lot, and the term ‘rock and roll’ is banded about usually 40 times a week. And a lot of people, I find, have a pretty weird idea of what rock and roll is. It’s usually the leather jacket and the shades and the booze and the cigs and all that. For me, it’s freedom to do what the fucking hell you want. I’m not owned by anybody. I’m not owned by the whims of a fan base or the bank balance of a record company. I do what I want when I want to do it. And I live and die by the consequences. It’s only a record man. I’ll make another one in a few years. That one might be worse.”

Noel Gallagher On The “Greatest Thing” He’s Ever Seen

Noel Gallagher has spoken on why he has someone playing a pair of scissors in his band.

He told i-D, “She’s French and she’s eccentric to say the least. I said to her, ‘can you play the tambourine?’, She said, ‘I cannot play the tambourine.’ I said, ‘Oh right. Shaker?’ ‘Non. I can play the scissors.’ She brought them in and I was looking at my bass player going, if that’s not the greatest thing you’ve ever seen then tell me what is. A French bird in a cape playing the scissors? It doesn’t get any better than that does it?”

“If you were from Peckham, you would be obliged to intellectualise it,” he added. “You would be at the mercy of intellectualising it.”

He added “Look, I know what I’m doing. I’m not about to get on stage and play an arena with a bird in a cape playing the scissors, unless it’s great. I’m not a fucking idiot.”

Noel Gallagher Doesn't Give A F***k What Liam Does As Long As He Keeps Promoting His Record

Noel Gallagher has spoke about Liam's solo music and the "army of songwriters" he used for his debut album 'As You Were' comparing it to "Adele shouting into a bucket".

Asked if he's heard any of the songs from 'As You Were', Noel told I-D magazine: "I've heard 'Wall Of Glass' and the one that sounds like Adele shouting into a bucket. But I'm not a fan so I wouldn't listen to it."

He continued: "I'm not sure I can be arsed formulating an opinion on a record that's written by an army of songwriters. Isn't the one from One Direction doing that?

"The little Irish fella with the acoustic? At least he has the decency to play a guitar. I'm not a fan.

"I have nothing to say about it."

Asked if he supports Liam's career he said: "No. I think at the beginning, from this side of the fence, there was a lot of good will as in, yeah, man, I fucking hope it works. It's about time.

"But that's all gone now because it got personal.

"So it's like, fuck what he does. As long as he keeps promoting my record, there's a good boy."

Noel says there is no chance of them mending their rift or reuniting Oasis.

He concluded: "I don't give a fuck as long as he promotes it on his twitter feed.

"It's like, I'm over here doing my thing, you're over there doing my thing, and never the twain shall meet, thank you very much."

Liam Gallagher On Being The Most Excited He's Ever Been

Liam Gallagher has admitted he’s the most excited he’s ever been.

Speaking to Dave Berry Gallagher was asked about his most excitable moments.

“It’s got to be Man City winning the Premier League, I’m excited about that. I’m excited about getting back doing my music. I’m excited about Anthony Joshua, I’m a big fan of him. I’m excited about everything, man!

“I mean, I’m not running about doing cartwheels but there is someone excited in there somewhere. I know I’m not smiling a lot but there’s a happy person in there trying to get out”

Liam Gallagher On Returning To Where It All Began With Oasis

Liam Gallagher has said he still has a soft spot for the tiny venue where it all began for Oasis - King Tuts in Glasgow.

He has filmed his new video at the venue, with director Shane Meadows.

Speaking to Dave Berry Gallagher said of the shoot: “It was mega. It was done super quick, because I hate doing videos. We started at 4 and we were out of there by 6.

“Sometimes you’re there all night, but we did a little gig - we played about five songs for the people that came down, three run throughs of Come Back To Me and then we were off home.”

And despite him harking back to the glory days of his old band, he still found time for a dig at his brother employing a SCISSORS player for a recent TV appearance.

“It was a performance video in King Tuts, which is where Oasis got signed,” he said. “There’s no scissors involved, there’s no dwarves or weird stuff. It’s just us playing live and the crowd going wild.

“But it’s Shane Meadows so he’ll have it looking cool

Liam Gallagher On Playing At A Working Men's Club

Liam Gallagher has admitted that playing at a working men’s club makes him want to hit the town like he did in his youth.

Speking to Dave Berry ahead of his Absolute Radio gig at London’s Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, he said the atmosphere had him gagging for a beer.

“It’s making me feel thirsty,” he said. “Those barrels in the corner. The carpet. Even that rope over there is making me feel thirsty.”
