Jill speaking about each of the images that can be seen below.
Photograph 1: “Noel goes into a zone when he has a guitar in his hand. This reflects his intense concentration.”
Photograph 2: “The band had cancelled their American tour due to a major Noel/Liam row and the papers were saying that they’d split up. But they hadn’t, so we needed some shots to show that they were not only still together, but working on new material. We were going to do the shoot outside the studios by the wall of graffiti but there are always crowds of tourists there, so we did quick shoot in Studio Two where they were about to record anyway."
Photograph 3: “I love this relaxed picture of Noel absorbing the vibes from vintage floorboards on which the Beatles and countless other genius musicians walked.”
Photograph 4: “When shooting in a recording studio you get a chance to hear the vocals being made without the backing track, which is being piped to the artist through the headsets/cans. Hearing Liam sing ‘a cappella’ at the top of his lungs is an extraordinary experience.”
Photograph 5: "I took this image of Noel in Studio Two. It's an incredibly inspiring room, virtually unchanged since the Beatles recorded there, with the original antique wooden floor. It's an enormous space, which contrasts with the mixing-desk area which is really quite small.”
Photograph 6: “The fairy lights, singing booth with its red lining and famous ‘Oasis rug’ that Liam is standing on, were brought in by the band to make the place their own homely environment during the sessions.”
