Noel Gallagher's Half The World Away might be everywhere at the moment thanks to the John Lewis Christmas ad , but the former Oasis star says he's quite happy to "ram it down people's throats"... maybe at least until it charts anyway.

Speaking to Chris Moyles at the Radio X Road Trip, who asked if he'd be playing the track, he replied: "I'd say as it's getting caned in the charts, I might even play it twice!"

He added: "As I might have a passing interest in it, I might ram it down people's throats until January 1st, and then you might never hear it again."

Noel and his High Flying Birds delighted fans on the Radio X Road Trip with Chris Moyles together with O2.

Playing songs from his eponymous debut and this year's No. 1 Chasing Yesterday album the star treated his fans to an intimate set at the O2 Apollo Manchester on Wednesday 2 December.

As well as playing solo hits in Everybody's On The Run and In The Heat Of The Moment, Gallagher treated fans to a selection of Oasis favourites, including Champagne Supernova, The Masterplan, Don't Look Back In Anger and Definitely Maybe track Digsy's Dinner.

Speaking to Chris Moyles before the show, Noel said of the legendary Manchester venue: "I saw my very first gig here: The Damned in 1979. I saw my second gig here: Stiff Little Fingers. And I saw my fifth gig here, which was U2.

"I used to work in a pet shop over the road. I'm not joking. Tahiti Aquariums, it was called. I used to mend fishtanks."

True to his word, the Ballad Of The Mighty I singer then sang a moving performance of Half The World Away- much to the delight of the crowd.

Noel had support from collaborator, friend and fellow Mancunian Johnny Marr, who treated the crowd to an energetic set, with a sprinkling of The Smiths hits, including Panic, How Soon Is Now and There is A Light That Never Goes Out.

Mr Gallagher continued: "I've never had a bad gig in Manchester. Apart from those three years where we went unnoticed."

Also on the bill were young Scottish band Neon Waltz and Pretty Vicious from Wales.

Kelly Jones On Not inviting Noel Gallagher To His 'Phenomenal' Wedding

Kelly Jones was on the The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning.

The Stereophonics frontman talked about Noel Gallagher not being invited to Kelly's wedding. Speakers:

CM ' Chris Moyles
KJ ' Kelly Jones

CM: How was the wedding? I wasn't invited so I wasn't there.

KJ: The wedding was good you should have been there. I didn't know where you were. I thought you were dead.

CM: I wasn't dead! That's terrible. Noel Gallagher was in on Monday and we were talking about you. I went 'Did you go to Kelly's wedding?' He went 'No, I don't know if I was invited!' I went 'Are you sure, because I would imagine you were invited!'

KJ: You can invite Noel to many things but he doesn't often turn up.

CM: I have friends of mine who were there and they told me it was a phenomenal wedding.

KJ: I was on tour at the time, so I didn't actually have a lot to do with organising it.

CM: I'm not going to let this go. It was either you or Jackie, you had nothing to do with it, so you're saying the reason I wasn't invited was Jackie.

KJ: We didn't know where you were.

CM: It's not like I joined the army, its not like I disappeared

KJ: You just disappeared off the face of the earth, I thought you were in America, I didn't know where you'd gone mate. Where did you go? Where have you been?

Video: Noel Gallagher On Oasis Reforming

Chris Moyles asked the Mancunian legend the question that’s on everyone’s minds. Well, if you had Noel on your show, you would, wouldn’t you?

“When’s Oasis getting back together?” Moyles asked Noel, who was a very special guest on the very first Radio X breakfast show this morning (Monday 21 September).

“I would think probably not in the very near future,” replied Noel, choosing his words carefully.

Asked by our man Moyles if he’d never say never, Gallagher added:

“One should never say never, should one look like a bit of an idiot somewhere down the road, when you’re waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion in The Sun!”

He admitted that he’d not even spoken to his brother Liam was when Manchester City won the Premier League in 2014.

“It’s not something I’m even remotely thinking about. Neither’s anyone else, as a matter of fact.”

In fact, Noel Gallagher has other shows to be plannning.

This morning, Chris Moyles announced The Radio X Road Trip With Chris Moyles, which will see the breakfast show head out to various cities around the UK with some very special shows.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will play a huge homecoming gig at the O2 Apollo Manchester on 2 December. His special guest will be the legendary Johnny Marr, plus Neon Waltz and Pretty Vicious are also on the bill.

Noel Gallagher Hasn't Ruled Out An Oasis Reunion

Noel Gallagher momentarily raised our hopes for an Oasis reunion during an interview on Radio X on Monday, only to dash them again in the the same breath.

Noel was a guest on Chris Moyles’ breakfast show on the new radio station’s launch day, when he was quizzed about the rumours that he’d buried the hatchet with his brother Liam and was planning on reforming Oasis.

“Probably not in the very near future,” he explained. “One should never say never though…”

So far so possible. However the musician then added that it would take rather a lot of wonga for him to even entertain the idea.

“When someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion,” he added.

Boo.

He continued: “I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it [an Oasis reunion] but there’s one that wouldn’t…me.”

“I do say ‘we were together for 20 years, if you didn’t see us, tough’. I didn’t get to see the Sex Pistols.”

Noel, who last performed with Liam in 2009, also denied reports he was back on speaking terms with his younger brother.

“[I last saw him] when City won the league about 8-9 months ago… I don’t hang out with my family, I never did.”

Earlier this year, rumours began to fly that Oasis were planning on reforming without Noel.

A source told The Sun: “It’s very early days but the wheels are in motion. Liam, Guigsy, Bonehead and Tony are all interested and keen to see how it can work.

“They don’t seem to mind Noel not being on board, even though some fans won’t regard it as a proper Oasis reunion.

“But as Noel wants no part in the band, it’s the closest they are going to get to a full-scale comeback.”
