Robbie Williams once disliked Liam Gallagher so much he offered to fight him on live TV.
But now the Take That star is so in awe of his former rival that Liam has become his fashion inspiration.
Speaking at the launch of his Farrell label at London’s Selfridges last night, Robbie heaped praise on Liam’s label Pretty Green.
He said: “I’ve been on the Pretty Green website and looked at their clothes and it should do really well because it’s really well put together.
“I think the difference between mine and Liam’s clothes is probably 40 to 50 years.
“This is genuine WW1 Winston Churchill stuff and I think Liam’s is more mod 1960s and maybe Nineties. There is a definite difference, you can just tell by looking at the style.
“If we can achieve what Pretty Green has achieved in what seems like a short space of time then that would be brilliant.”
Robbie famously offered to fight Liam at the 2000 Brit Awards following a war of words with the Gallagher brothers.
Liam threatened to break his nose shortly after Noel Gallagher branded Robbie “the fat dancer from Take That”.
But there has been lots of water under the bridge since then and Robbie is happy being talked about in the same breath as Liam in fashion circles.
The singer, who wants Olympic hero Mo Farah to model his clobber, admitted he started his own label because he feared people thought he was “weird” for liking UFOs. And his fascination made him “fat”.
He said: “Ever since I was 16 all I have been doing is make album, promote album, tour album... and I did that for 20 years.
“Then I got a bit burnt out and I was looking for something else. I thought that something else was making documentaries about UFOs. But that wasn’t going to work out for me. it just made me weird and — at the time — fat. Weird and fat, looking for UFOs.
“So I thought I would reverse out of this situation, which was a PR nightmare, and my management put the idea to me.
“I live in America, where pop stars and actors all seem to do a multitude of things.
“I pretty much thought I could do a clothing line.
“I didn’t know how we would, but we’ve done it.”
Another LA-based singer turned fashion designer has also made an impact on Robbie — Victoria Beckham. He just wishes he could command the same prices.
He said: “If we could charge £36,000 like Victoria Beckham then we would — but we can’t.”

Rock legend Noel Gallagher shocked Burscough FC fans last week by declaring his desire to manage the club.
The former Oasis star revealed he would like to take control of the Linnets should his busy schedule allow him time to try football management.
The Supporters’ Club now hope to get Gallagher down to Victoria Park to watch a game.
High Flying Birds frontman Gallagher was discussing his beloved Manchester City when he name-dropped Burscough FC in an interview with radio station Talksport.
Asked if he ever fancied himself in the dugout at a “little non-league club” Gallagher said: “I would be brilliant at it.”
“There is no question I would be really good at it. I am a leader of men,” he added.
When asked if he could fit such a role into his hectic schedule if a non-league side made contact, the 45-year-old replied: “Burscough.
“I could do it. I can see me with the long coat on saying 'don't call me gaffer' and 'get your haircut'.”
The comments have caused a stir amongst Burscough supporters who hope to raise the club's profile on the back of the revelation.
Keith Forshaw, a member of the Burscough FC Supporters' Club, was astounded when he heard of the star's comments.
He said: “I was surprised and bemused when I heard the news. My son-in-law told me after hearing it round the village – I couldn't believe it.
“We are not quite sure of the connection but it is great to be linked to such a well-known celebrity and football fan. It has been great publicity for Burscough FC. The news spread like wildfire and everybody knows – it's certainly made us part of the conversation of the community.
“It would be great to get him down so we are trying to invite him to come to Victoria Park for a game and see what he thinks of it over here.
“Everybody knows of his links to Man City, but it is always nice to see people showing an interest in the lower end of the football pyramid.
“It would be great to get him involved at the club.”

Definitely Maybe is the debut album by English band Oasis, released on August 30th 1994. It was an immediate commercial and critical success in the UK, having followed on the heels of singles "Supersonic", "Shakermaker" and particularly the popular "Live Forever".
Definitely Maybe went straight to number one and 7x platinum in the UK Album charts on initial release. It was the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK when released. Definitely Maybe marked the beginning of Oasis' success in America, selling over 1 million copies there, although only reaching #58 on the Billboard 200. The album went on to sell over 7.5 million copies worldwide.
In 1997 Definitely Maybe was named the 14th greatest album of all time in a 'Music of the Millennium' poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM. In 2005 Channel 4's '100 Greatest Albums' countdown placed the album at number 6. In 2006 NME placed the album third in a list of the greatest British albums ever, behind The Stone Roses and The Queen Is Dead. In a recent British poll, run by NME and the book of British Hit Singles and Albums, Definitely Maybe was voted the best album of all time with The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band finishing second and Revolver third. Q magazine readers placed it at five on their greatest albums of all time list in 2006 and in that same year NME hailed it as the greatest album of all time. It is frequently referred to as the greatest debut album of all time.
Album History
In 1994, Oasis were seen as a distant echo of the moribund 'Madchester' scene which had exploded in the early 1990s. Unlike other Madchester bands who indulged in experiments with funk, dance or hip-hop, Oasis presented themselves as a relatively straightforward rock and roll band. Along with bands like Blur and The Verve they seemed to encapsulate a new wave, one which did not yet have a name. By the end of the year the media coined the term Britpop, of which Definitely Maybe retrospectively became one of the pivotal albums.
Many of the songs had originally appeared on Oasis' "Live Demonstration" demo recorded in Liverpool the year before with Chris and Tony Griffiths of The Real People. The main recording sessions took longer than expected, with the bulk of the album having to be recorded three different times with Mark Coyle producing, before Owen Morris came up with a mix that everyone was satisfied with. The album cost nearly £85,000 to produce, a huge amount of money for a debut album at the time.
The album title, according to Noel Gallagher, comes from a poster he saw in a pub, although he cannot remember what the poster was advertising.

Cardiff City’s iconic champagne football maverick Robin Friday will be the feature of a film called ‘The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw.'
The movie, which will be part funded by Film Agency Wales, will take the title of the book written about Friday by Paolo Hewitt and Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Guigsy’ McGuigan in 1998 and will document the story of the drinking, drug taking fans hero.
In 1996, the Super Furry Animals dedicated their song ‘The Man Don't Give a F***’ to their hero who they had watched on the terraces, who played and lived in the image of fellow football icon George Best.
On the inside cover, it says: “This record is dedicated to the memory of Robin Friday and his stand against the 'Man'."
Former NME journalist Hewitt, who also wrote The Fashion of Football and Young Mods Forgotten Story, claims he always thought Friday’s story would make a good film, saying: “When I was writing The Robin Friday Story with Guigsy all those years ago, I kept saying it would make a great film.”
Six years after the book was released, Friday was voted the top "all-time cult hero" by fans of Cardiff City and his previous club Reading.

Noel Gallagher has said that writing music for himself instead of his brother is a "piece of piss". Gallagher was in Dublin last week for a co-headliner show with Kasabian in Marlay Park and spoke of the differences between writing music and lyrics for himself instead of Oasis.

Although football has traditionally struggled on the big screen, the relative success of 2009's The Damned United and the 2006 documentary Once in a Lifetime suggests the 70s appears to be an auspicious era for depicting the beautiful game on film.

Despite his short life, the film should make for an entertaining biography of one of English football's most memorable mavericks. Friday was also immortalised on the Super Furry Animals' album sleeve The Man Don't Give A F**k.
Although football has traditionally struggled on the big screen, the relative success of 2009's The Damned United and the 2006 documentary Once in a Lifetime suggests the 70s appears to be an auspicious era for depicting the beautiful game on film.

The Soundtrack Of Our Lives who formed in 1995 in Gothenburg have treated us to a Q&A!
The band who first toured with Oasis in America in 2002 announced recently that they are to go their separate ways, but not before supporting Noel Gallagher at the iTunes Festival at the Camden Roundhouse on 12th September.
The band have been closely linked with Oasis for a number of years with songs like 'Confrontation Camp' and 'Infra Riot' being staples of the 'Dig Out Your Soul' pre gig DJ set.
You are playing your final shows later next month, why have you now decided to call it a day?
I guess we all had our own reasons for calling it a day, but by doing so we mustered up lots of new energy to do one final tour, and the shows on this tour have been some of our best so far.
Do you think you will get back together one day?
Who knows, can’t see us going back in to the studio again, but maybe get together to play live again.
Any special surprises for people attending these gigs?
The shows have been around two and a half hours, so there will be a lot of hits and misses, request will be taken, business like as usual, a mid summers eve fiesta.
Will you still be involved in music? or do you plan on a complete break?
I’ve recorded a bunch of songs with a new band, with Don Alsterberg as producer, who has produced Jose’ Gonzales and Graveyard, we’ll see what that leads to. I will also write music for other artists and film scores.
What is your favourite city to play in?
New York is amongst the top ones, the food, the vibe, all good.
What has been the highlight of your career?
The time during 'Behind The Music' album. We went from being down for the count, to go in to the studio to make this album with no expectations to sold out tours round Europe and North America, touring with Oasis, being on Letterman, Leno, getting a Grammy nominee in the US, it was a good ride.
What is the best gig you've ever played?
Toronto at the Opera House in 2002, a fantastic crowd, we were on top from, had Rush Xanadu as an intro, the Canucks loved it. An after party that would have put Sodom and Gomorrah to shame…………
What is the worst gig you've ever played?
Milton Keynes, support for Oasis, flew in from a US tour, jet lag, Martin's organ was a half note pitch off, out of tune, we were all out of tune I guess, Mathias trashed one of his guitars, Ebbot threw it in to the audience, one unfortunate guy got it between his eyes and cracked his head open. All in front of 90.000 people. We were truly terrible, great after party though.
What new bands are you listening to any recommendations for our readers?

You have said in previous interviews Oasis are a big influence on your music, when did you first get into their music?
I got into them early 1996, I got hold of the '(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?' album and it blew me away. Great songwriting, wonderful melodies with a punk attitude. Love those mid tempo epic arena songs like Champagne Supernova, brilliant stuff!
What do you think about the suggestion that you had an influence on the Oasis sound? (e.g. with songs like Lyla)
Don’t know if we had an influence on their sound but maybe we we’re an inspiration at the when Behind the music came out.
What is you're favourite tracks from the Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds album and why?
Simple Game Of Genius, another epic arena classic!

"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.
"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."
Oasis were due to play the Rock en Seine festival in Paris but cancelled at the last minute. When the support band said Oasis would not be performing, many fans thought it was a joke, but then screens at either side of the stage showed this message: "As a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been cancelled."

Asked about his impression of 'Wonderwall', he said: "It was all right. David Arnold did a new string arrangement for it, which was like thanks very much. It was good. It was great, don't get me wrong. I sat and watched it and I thought it was great. I thought Beady Eye were great, I'm glad Oasis in some way was represented in it".
He continued: "I'm glad somebody did it, if they hadn't done it they would have got fucking Keane to do it or something. At least it was Liam and the lads, I was cool with it".

Noel Gallagher has revealed that his collaboration album with psychedelic producers Amorphous Androgynous has been scrapped.
Speaking to entertainment.ie when asked about the album he said: "I have scraped it now, because I'd recorded it these guys were mixing it. I'd yet to take delivery of it the night before the press conference. And I thought well f*ck it I will just announce it how shit can it be? The famous last words. I kind of got it and I didn't like it. So they tried to remix it while I was on the road, and that was not working".

Rock superstars have died out because the music industry no longer makes them enough money, Noel Gallagher has claimed.
The Oasis star, feels artists such as Michael Jackson and Guns n’ Roses enjoyed the best years, benefitting from huge record company advances.
Gallagher, 45, said his finest work was now behind him. He was at his most creative while pushing to make the Britpop band he formed with brother Liam, 39, a success.
He said: “Rock stardom will die because nobody will make enough money any more to be rock stars.
“Everybody will be jobbing musicians. It’s unbelievable. The music industry has changed beyond all recognition. The music business we signed in to does not exist any more.
“What is fascinating about that is that there was a way of making money and selling records that got happened upon in the Sixties and it worked for 30-odd years then all of a sudden, in under a decade, it’s gone, never to return.
“It used to be about the A&R man going to see gigs, demos and people going into record labels saying ‘give us a chance’ and it’s not like that any more.”
Gallagher also feels his millionaire lifestyle has detached him from his audience.
He said: “You can’t be a hypocrite and write songs about the plight of the working man when you are sipping champagne at eight in the morning in the South of France with a supermodel.”
Oasis shot to stardom thanks to hits like Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol.
Their second album, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, sold 23 million copies worldwide.

Last night’s gigs in Marlay Park passed off without incident, bar a few small power problems during Noel Gallagher’s set.
Noel Gallagher must have mellowed in his old age as you can see in the above clip. Posted by YouTube user GenuisNoelGallagher, it shows the moment last night when Gallagher’s band, High Flying Birds, lost power on stage in Dublin last night.
The High Flying Birds were the main support act for Kasabian in Marlay Park last night but shortly after they took to the stage sound problems forced them off.
They came back minutes later only for the power to go. As you can see above, Noel, and the crowd, took the disruption well and at the third attempt the gig went off without a hitch.
