Noel Gallagher Tried To Book Girls Aloud For The Teenage Cancer Trust Concerts

Kimberley Walsh has a big fan in Noel Gallagher.

The 31-year-old singer was told by the former Oasis guitarist that she is his favourite member of Girls Aloud when the rocker tried to book the girl group for the upcoming Teenage Cancer Trust charity concerts.

Noel couldn't get the five-piece - also comprised of Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts - to play because the date clashed with their reunion tour but he did tell Kimberley she was the best member.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, she said: 'The Girls Aloud tour is around the same time so we couldn't make it work (to play). I'm gutted that we can't do it.

'Noel called me out of the blue. It's great that he's involved and is arranging it. It was exciting to speak to him. I was like, 'Really?' He said I was his favourite (Girls Aloud member) and Sarah wasn't very happy about that.

Kimberley has really enjoyed hooking up with the girls again following their self-imposed hiatus and insists everyone has been having fun as they prepare to kick-off their 'Ten - The Hits Tour'.

The 31-year-old star - who has just released a solo album 'Centre Stage' - said: 'It's always fun with the girls. We all know our stuff, we are just perfecting it, getting it to the best level. There is a lot of banter ... We have a choreographer and creative director who have sorted the stage set and visuals. We're happy with that.

Then we get into outfits and dance moves. And we have to try to remember all the words to the songs.'

Noel Gallagher's Daughter Hasn't Forgiven Him For Turning Down The X Factor

Noel Gallagher has revealed he has no regrets about turning down the chance to be a judge on X Factor - but his daughter won't ever forgive him for it.

The ex-Oasis star said his daughter Anaïs was upset with him after he said no to X Factor guru Simon Cowell.

Cowell offered him the role after he left the UK version to work on the launch of the show in America.

Judging regulars Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole also departed leaving more vacant places on the panel alongside Louis Walsh.

Gallagher told The Sun: 'I told him he didn't really want me on there.'

'He insisted he did. I insisted harder that he didn't and he gave up asking. My 11-year-old daughter has never forgiven me.'

Instead, Gallagher has been busy launching his new solo project called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

He will be playing a sold out three-date tour in October to promote his debut solo album, also called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Gallagher added: 'Money was never mentioned.'

His place on the panel was taken by Take That star Gary Barlow who joins newcomers Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.

The X Factor launches this Saturday, August 20 at 8pm on ITV1 and the boot camp stage of the competition is expected to begin airing in several weeks.
