Noel Gallagher Backs Christopher Maloney To Win The X Factor

There are fears that if Baloney is crowned winner he’ll not only ruin the show’s credibility but could also kill the prospect of a 10th series next year.

Noel Gallagher has scuppered his chances of ever being asked again to be an X Factor judge by Simon Cowell... he’s backing cheesy Chris Maloney to be the winner.

The ex-Oasis star said: “I’ve been watching X Factor and I wouldn’t mind seeing the Scouser win, because it’d be great to watch him have a nervous breakdown.

“But I also think James Arthur should win. That lad’s the best out of them all.

“I do like The X Factor, I’ve got say, for my sins.”

There are fears that if Baloney is crowned winner he’ll not only ruin the show’s credibility but could also kill the prospect of a 10th series next year.

Rocker Noel, who announced the line-up for the 2013 Teenage Cancer Trust At The Royal Albert Hall gigs, has asked his long-time Blur rivals Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon if they’ll perform alongside him.

Noel, who ended his feud with the band last year, said: “Will we play together? I hope so.”

The dad-of-three also had some paternal advice to give royal parents-to-be William and Kate.

He pointed out: “They’re not the first people in the country to have a baby, are they? I’ve had three.

“William should probably think about rejoining the Army. He’d have a quieter life.”

A garden shed might be a safer option.

Noel Gallagher Gives Out Fatherly Advice To Prince William

Noel Gallagher knows quite a bit about maintaining a clean image while being a dad in the spotlight.

So it’s unsurprising he’s doled out some fatherly advice for Prince William about coping with parenthood.

His words of wisdom won’t win him any Dad Of The Year awards though.

The singer says William would be best fighting with the Army once his missus Kate Middleton has the tot — because it would be less hassle than coping with the crying and potty-training sessions.

Noel, who ditched his hardcore party days years ago, said: “They’re not the first people in the country to have a child, are they?

“I’ve got three, you know. Do I have any advice for them? People write books about that s***. Very expensive books — my wife’s got ’em all.

“Tell William he’d be better thinking about rejoining the Army — he’d have a quieter life.”

Noel was asked for his thoughts on how Wills should handle the new arrival while revealing the line-up for next year’s Teenage Cancer Trust gigs, which will feature Kasabian, Primal Scream, Rizzle Kicks and Labrinth.

Noel will be curating the annual event, to run from March 19 to 24 at the Royal Albert Hall.

And Noel pulled off a decent surprise — announcing yesterday that he’s persuaded his old Blur rivals Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon to support him on the final night of the shows. He said: “I was on tour with Graham and asked him if Blur would do it.

“They said just the two of them could and it’ll be great. Ten years ago with Liam, who’d have thought it?”

Noel also hinted that the former rivals could take to the stage together, now they’ve finally buried their Britpop hatchet.

He said: “They’ll be playing Blur songs, I’ll be playing mine.

“Will we share the stage together? I hope so. I’m up for it. It’s always good to have a little jam.” Noel also showed how much he’s softened since his hard-living Oasis days.

He added: “I do play Blur’s Tender at home to myself, when Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Minute Meals is on.

“He’s got some good s*** going on on there, you should try it out.”

Setting up the gigs has clearly helped bring out Noel’s charitable side — that plug should help shift a few more copies of Jamie’s Christmas cookbooks.

Tickets for the TCT gigs go on sale tomorrow, priced £25. To keep up to date, visit teenagecancertrust.org.
