Damon Albarn On His Friendship With Noel Gallagher

Damon Albarn has revealed in a recent interview that his friendship with Noel Gallagher has become important to him.

He said “We don’t talk about our past. We talk about our present. I value my friendship with Noel because he is one of the only people who went through what I did in the Nineties.”

Noel Gallagher On Damon Albarn, Blur And Working With The Gorillaz

Taken from the current issue of Q.

"'Beetlebum' is probably my favourite song of Damon's. When I first heard it for the first time I did think 'Shit, I wish I written that.' When I first heard Blur I thought they were very English, like The Kinks. When it came to all the other projects he was doing I thought, 'when does this fella go on holiday?'

"How we buried the hatchet is a well-worn tale but we literally bumped into each other at some bar one night. Literally at the bar. I think I was getting served first, I got him a drink and it went from there. I don't remember asking to be on a Gorillaz record. I do remember being at Paul Simonon's one night and 'it' being discussed. He was suppose to play on 'Who Built The Moon?' but we couldn't make the timings work. Maybe next time. If you'd told my younger self that he'd one day be singing on a record by Damon Albarn he would have laughed and probably said, 'If either of you are still going it will be a fucking miracle - a sick joke that will fascinate speccy, Guardian-reading journalists for years.'

"I really love working and hanging out with that mob. Not just Damon, but all his people. It turned out we had a lot of mutual friends and they're all cool as fuck. The Gorillaz shows at the O2 recently were two mega nights out. He has that annoying habit of texting me whenever Chelsea beat City, needless to say he's been pretty fucking quite lately. But as for what we talk about? Depends on what's going on I suppose. As it usually revolves around a period of 'consumption', I'm not sure I can actually remember."

Liam Gallagher “I Never Had Any Problem With Blur”

Despite their infamous Britpop rivalry, Liam Gallagher has said that he ‘never had a problem’ with Blur – and added that they’re ‘madder than Oasis these days’.

In a new interview, Gallagher shared a fond memory of a recent run-in with Blur bassist Alex James.
“I saw one of them the other night at some awards do,” Gallagher told Q Magazine. “What’s the bass player called? Alex. He had a pair of shorts on. I think it was the first day back at school. They’re madder than us these days. He was completely off his fucking box.”

Noel Gallagher too has appeared to bury the hatchet with Blur in recent years. Not only have he and Albarn performed together on a number of occasions, but Noel lends guest vocals on Gorillaz‘s new song ‘We Got The Power’ with Savages‘ Jehnny Beth. Now, Liam has downplayed their Britpop feud – but declared that he’s still quite far away from a Gorillaz guest spot.

“I never had any problem with Blur,” he continued. “The rivalry was all a bit of a laugh for me. But you still wouldn’t catch me doing backing vocals for Damon Albarn.”

Steve Earle On Oasis And Noel Gallagher's Songwriting Skills

Steve Earle has slated Noel Gallagher‘s songwriting skills, and that Oasis scored the success they did because they “behaved badly”.

“I dislike Man City because it is Oasis’s club,” Earle told The Guardian. “Noel Gallagher is the most overrated songwriter in the whole history of pop music. They were perfect for the Brit press because they behaved badly and got all the attention. Blur were really great. That guy Damon Albarn is a real fuckin’ songwriter.”

Liam Gallagher On Noel's Collaboration With Gorillaz

In the current issue of Q magazine, which is on sale on Today, Liam Gallagher has spoke about brother Noel’s ‘silly’ collaboration with Damon Albarn, calling him a ‘backing singer’.

The former Oasis frontman commented on Noel’s recent stint on stage with Albarn’s Gorillaz, he said: 'If Noel’s doing it to p*** me off, it’s not working.

'Cos I just find it all a bit silly. He’s turned into a backing singer, y’know what I mean? What’s f**king next? Roadie-ing for Steps?'

He added: 'He’s looking like he’s stalking Damon. Damon’s sitting there thinking, "How the f**k have I got into this Gallagher world again?”

'He was doing alright with De La Soul. And now he’s got f**king Stalker Boy stalking him, begging him to sing on his tunes, and then me in the background going, “You f**king c**ts.”

'I feel bad for Damon, to be brutally honest. Stuck in the middle. But you can get restraining orders. Maybe he should get one for Noel. It’s a bit creepy, innit?'

Noel Gallagher On Getting Damon Albarn To Play On One Of His Albums

Noel Gallagher was asked in a recent interview now that he's sung on a Gorillaz track, will Damon repay the favor and sing on one of your albums?

He said "Well, he was supposed to play on my new record, but at the time I was recording, he was finishing the Gorillaz record and didn’t have the time. Hopefully next time. I’d like to get him to play melodica on something, which is what he was going to do for me on this record."

More On Noel Gallagher's Collaboration With The Gorillaz

Damon Albarn has talked about Gorillaz‘s collaboration with Noel Gallagher, describing the track as a “victory lap” and “the ultimate self-congratulatory Britpop moment”.

The two former Britpop rivals worked together on ‘We Got The Power’, which appears on Gorillaz’s upcoming album ‘Humanz’ and also features Savages singer Jehnny Beth.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Albarn said: “At one point, that track was Noel, me and [Blur‘s] Graham Coxon. It was the ultimate self-congratulatory Britpop moment. It was the victory lap, these geezers singing about all the power they had.”

“I went back and opted to doing it like you play something at the end of a film, as the credits roll,” he added. “Jehnny Beth was necessary. The testosterone levels were off the fucking scale.”

Gallagher’s Oasis and Albarn’s band Blur were famously involved in a chart battle during the ’90s, but the pair have since become friends.

Speaking about their former rivalry, Albarn said: “Noel is not stupid. I love him for that. There was a point when they were set against us. And he had the advantage. He was from the working-class band. He was playing up to that and using it very successfully. I found it difficult to counter. What do you say? It’s like when you get called ‘liberal elite’ by right-wingers. The best I can say is ‘Call me liberal, but don’t call me elite’.”

Albarn added of working with Gallagher: “He’s really musical. He’s got a great tone to his voice. I love his guitar playing. And he’s funny as shit. He’s fucking brilliant company.”

Damon previously said that it was “really great” and that Gallagher is “fantastic in the studio”, adding: “It’s nice when you see how someone goes about their business.”

Gorillaz’s new album ‘Humanz’ comes out on Friday (April 28).

Noel Gallagher: “Nobody Gives A F**k What Liam Thinks About Anything”

The thawing of the mid-’90s Britpop feud between Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn during their Oasis and Blur days has resulted in Gallagher contributing background vocals to “We Got the Power,” a song on Gorillaz‘s upcoming album, Humanz. In a new interview, the two men talk about how the track came together, with both of them taking shots at Noel’s brother Liam.

“In a sort of lighthearted way, I’d promised Noel he could be on this record,” Albarn told Vulture. “He was always like, ‘I want to be on the next Gorillaz record,’ and I was like, ‘Sure.’ I thought it might be cute, the idea of us singing about the power to love each other. Of course, no one’s asked Liam what he thinks about the song yet. No doubt he’d have a fantastic one-liner about what a bunch of f—ing knobheads we are.”

Liam had praised Blur’s most recent release, calling “Lonesome Street” the “song of the year.” When that fact was brought up to Albarn, he quipped, “Yeah, but The Magic Whip didn’t have his brother and I singing about loving each other.”

Noel had a different take on how he wound up on Humanz. “Damon and I were at a party at [former Clash bassist] Paul Simonon’s house, and we had a very brief, casual chat about doing some stuff together,” he recalled. “I went away on tour for a couple of years, and then somebody called me and said, ‘Would you be up for working on the new Gorillaz record?’ I said, ‘If you can make the time work, I’m up for it.’ It all went quiet again for ages. And then, one day, out of the blue, one of his people called one of my people and asked what was I doing next week. I just happened to have a week off, and I was in London.”

However, they agree that recording it required two sessions, and that they spent part of it discussing soccer (Albarn supports Chelsea and Noel is famously a Manchester City fan). Also, neither of them is too concerned with how Liam would react to “We Got the Power.”

“Listen, nobody gives a f— what Liam thinks about anything,” Noel said.

Damon Albarn On Working With Noel Gallagher

Damon Albarn has spoken to Q about working with Noel Gallagher on 'We Got The Power' that features on the Gorillaz new album 'Humanz'

He said "It's like the song at the end of the movie. It went through so many versions. At one point I got carried away and had Graham and Noel and me. It was going back to the glory days of the '90s! It was not working at all, and then Jehnny involved. When we play it live, Noel and DRAM will sing it harmonies together. Now that's progression."

Noel Gallagher To Join Gorillaz In Margate

Damon Albarn has revealed that the cartoon band’s upcoming show will be really star-studded.

The Blur frontman - who was launching his fifth collaboration with artist Jamie Hewlett at a “secret” show in London on Friday night (24 March) - announced that the band’s show at Dreamland in Margate on 10 June will feature ALL the guests on the new album Humanz.

That includes Damon’s Blur colleague Graham Coxon and Noel Gallagher, both of whom provide backing vocals on the track We Got The Power, which also features Jehnny Beth from Savages.

Introducing the show which took place at Printworks in Surrey Quays, South East London, Albarn explained: “We’ve got pretty much everyone who’s on the record here… A few people couldn’t make it because they had other stuff that was booked in beforehand.

“But they’ll be all here when we play Margate.”

Damon Albarn On Working With Noel Gallagher On Gorillaz New Album

The Oasis legend sings backing vocals on We Got The Power, which features on the Gorillaz new Humanz LP.

Damon album says it was "fantastic" working in the studio with Noel Gallagher for Gorillaz's new Humanz album, which is set for release on 28 April 2017.

The Oasis man provided backing vocals on the animated band's new track, We Got The Power, which features Savages' Jehnny Beth.

Asked about recording with Gallagher, Albarn told Radio X's Gordon Smart: "Its really great, he’s fantastic in the studio. Its nice when you see how someone goes about their business. He’s great."

Talking about the process involved in making the track, the Blur frontman revealed: "At one point this song had Graham (Coxon), Noel and me on it and it was sort of heading slightly in the wrong direction.

"It was becoming almost retro in its sort of spirit and way too rocky for this record so I kind of stripped it right back down again. We play it slightly different live then how it is on the record. It’s sort of the song that comes on during the final titles of a film. The climax. I thought Jehnny would take a bit of the testosterone off."

Some More Bits From Liam Gallagher's Interview With Q Magazine That's On Sale Now

Liam’s most explosive interview yet
Calls Noel out for being jealous
Admits he still loves his brother
His Views on Coldplay

Liam speaks exclusively to Q magazine this month about his return to music, his emotional past few years, his thoughts on politics, throwing stones at Jamie Oliver’s window and of course, his brother Noel. Liam really didn’t hold back in what could be his most explosive interview yet.

The New Liam

Liam on the last few years… These last few years have been emotional. Eye-opening. Mind-bending. But emotional.

Liam on his girlfriend… Debbie saved me. No bullsh*t. Debbie swooped me up as I was falling, she just said, ‘Stop being a dickhead.’ She got me out of the house, introduced me to all kinds of people outside my world, got me doing new things. I’ve lived in London a long time, but I only really knew Hampstead. She took me to new places. I’ve been to Dalston, man.

Liam on his new fitness regime…  I run around seven miles every day, leaving about 5am. Unless I’ve been out on the sauce, then I’m getting in at 5am. Normally, though, seven miles.
Liam on climbing trees… Climb the odd tree too. Climbed one the other day. I was running on the Heath and I thought, ‘That looks like a nice tree, I’m going to climb that f*cking tree.’ Climbed it and sat there with my hood up for about 10 minutes.

Liam on waking up Jamie Oliver… It’s like Stella Street, round here: Jamie Oliver lives up the road. I got told off for throwing stones at his windows p*ssed-up, asking him to chuck down some bacon rolls.

Liam on becoming friends with his milkman… He’s f*cking top, he gave me a pint of lactose-free milk for nothing the other day.

Talking about Noel Gallagher... When Noel loses his fame… Nobody will really understand what it’s like to leave the bubble unless you’ve been in the bubble. When our kid falls out of the bubble he will fall hard. That big machine around him. The itinerary. Noel Gallagher’s life is all mapped out for him from the moment he wakes up.

Liam on laying off Noel… Oh, I know. I know. Lots of people say I need to chill out about Noel. Not until they stop Twitter. That c*nt will always get it from me.

Liam on Noel hitting back… He slagged me off when we were in the same band! He’d do his interview, I’d come in to do mine and they’d go, ‘He doesn’t like you, does he?’ I’d be saying how great he was. He still has pops. He needs to know that I ain’t going away.

Liam on Oasis splitting… I was more disappointed that Oasis split up. I wonder if he was. I’ve never heard him say he was disappointed about Oasis. No, he’s got what he wanted.

Liam on Tweeting about Noel… Well, yeah. I’ve heard they really annoy him. Someone told me the other week that the only thing that does his nut in are my tweets. Good. They will carry on and they will get bigger and better

Liam on reuniting with Noel…. Do you think I want to be in a band with that c*nt? He says, ‘Liam has to change.’ Get to f*ck. So I just tweet when he drops the ball because I will not let him get away with murder.

Noel was quoted as saying Oasis wouldn’t get back together “not even if all the starving children in the world depended on it”

Liam’s thoughts on this quote…  It doesn’t hurt me mate, doesn’t hurt me. If the guy doesn’t want me back in our band then I don’t want to either. I don’t want to be in a band with someone who doesn’t want me.

Liam on Noel’s celebrity friends… Whatever next? Robbie Williams turning up on his next record? I’d have to send the police round. Put it this way, Noel lives in a £17million house. That changes you, I reckon. You have appropriate furniture, appropriate kitchens, appropriate red wine that Bono’s recommended. And Damon Albarn becomes your mate. Fair dos, but not for me.

Liam on missing Noel… I miss the Noel in the film, that’s the Noel I know. And I do love him. I don’t sit at home crying into a picture of him, though, and I’m sure he doesn’t of me either. But I’m an energy and I bet he misses that energy.

Current affairs
Liam on Politics… I am partial to Prime Minister’s Questions though. I’m not bothered about politics, Theresa May and that other c*nt can get on with it

The boring music of today
Liam on retiring… No, it’s f*cking sh*t. It’s boring without me, isn’t it? On my game I will roast anyone. Anyone. Whether it’s interviews, photoshoots, on record or on that f*cking stage. And there are a lot of people getting away with murder on that stage from my generation.

New music
Liam on his new songs… We’ve demoed some songs and it’s sounding…I am not embarking on a solo ‘career’. Everyone should know that. There are just 10, 11 songs I’ve written that are eligible to be recorded. They’ve got flair, attitude, the melodies are sick and the words are f*cking funny.

Liam on when they will be released… We’ll record them this year and release it next year. It’ll shock people. It’s a record written by me, that’s got all the right ingredients and sounds well tasty. You won’t be scratching your chin. It’s not Pink Floyd and it ain’t Radiohead. It’s chin-out music.

Liam on his influences… Music isn’t influenced by music, I don’t think. It’s influenced by life. To have good music you have to have an interesting, varied life. Sh*t music comes from boring lives. The reason why so much music is boring, no matter how many bells and whistles and strobes they stick on it, is because they have boring lives. My wonky life over the last few years is going to make for better music.

That was Noel. We went to George Michael’s house after the Olympics. He was there, might have been with one of Take That. He was down at the bar at the end of the garden. George Michael was on at the Olympics, we [Beady Eye] were on at the Olympics, and where’s Noel? Watching it on telly, drinking a cocktail in George’s garden. This is the same man who slagged George off for Shoot The Dog. You’ve got some f*cking nerve. I said, ‘You alright, you seen that?’ ‘Yeah, it was alright.’ ‘You’re weird, you c*nt.’

Liam Gallagher Believes Oasis Will Sail Again And It'll Be Glorious

Although the band broke up in 2009 after a furious row between Liam and his brother Noel, Liam admitted he would be open to a comeback "for the fans".

He told Q magazine: "I believe Oasis will sail again and it'll be glorious. If it's really about the fans, Noel, let's do it - because they want it. One year. Tour for a year.

"We'd smash it. My bags are still packed from my last tour, so I'm ready."

However, Liam, 43, doesn't appear ready to bury the hatchet with Noel, as he also accused Noel of being a **** and of having "small-man syndrome".

He said: "Do you think I want to be in a band with that ****? He says, 'Liam has to change.'

"Get to f**k....If the guy doesn't want me back in our band then I don't want to either.

"I don't want to be in a band with someone who doesn't want me."

"Every f**king soundcheck he'd stand in the middle and sing. The geezer's got small-man syndrome."

And he is furious that Noel is now pals with Damon Albarn, frontman of Oasis' one-time rivals Blur.

He fumed: "Whatever next? Robbie Williams turning up on his next record? Noel lives in a £17 million house. That changes you.

"You have appropriate furniture, appropriate kitchens, appropriate red wine Bono's recommended. And Damon Albarn becomes your mate."

Meanwhile, Liam - who is preparing to release new songs next year - claimed to be a "lone wolf" and says his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther is his only friend.

He said: "I can count my friends on no hands. I don't have any apart from Debbie. I do my own thing. I'm a lone wolf."

Liam Gallagher On Living The Quite Life, Noel, Oasis And More

The rocker has revealed he prefers the quiet life now as he prepares to launch his solo comeback.

Now, as he launches his solo comeback — which I revealed he would but he denied — the ex-Oasis frontman is a self-confessed recluse.

In a stunning interview, Liam reveals he’s cut ties with most of his former allies since his split from Beady Eye in 2014, dedicating himself to his “saviour”, girlfriend and  manager Debbie Gwyther.

That’s despite their huge fights, as revealed by The Sun on Sunday and Bizarre.

Liam told Q Magazine: “I can count my friends on no hands. I don’t have any apart from Debbie. I do my own thing. I’m a lone wolf.”

In his Nineties heyday Liam was a regular at celeb haunts like the Met Bar in London, with models and hangers-on desperate to be in his company.

Now he prefers more down-to-earth company  — like his north London milkman. Liam said: “He’s f****** top. He gave me a pint of lactose-free milk for nothing the other day.”

But that doesn’t mean he’s gone soft.

The string of insults Liam throws at his brother shows his venom is as strong as ever.

He blames Noel for the break-up of Oasis in 2009, saying: “Every f****** soundcheck he’d stand in the middle and sing. The geezer’s got small-man syndrome.

“He never had the nerve back in the day, so he joined my band and slowly wormed his way to the front, got his balls together.

“You know when your kid puts on make-up and tries to look like a grown-up for a laugh? It’s like that. They’re playing at being frontmen.  They look stupid.”

Liam compares Noel to “Dermot O'Leary with a guitar” and lays into him for being pals with former nemeses Damon Albarn.

He said: “Whatever next? Robbie Williams turning up on his next record? Noel lives in a £17million house. That changes you.

“You have appropriate furniture, appropriate kitchens, appropriate red wine Bono’s recommended. And Damon Albarn becomes your mate.”

On This Day In Oasis History...

On August 10th 1996, Oasis played the first of two nights at Knebworth. Support for the two days included The Prodigy, Ocean Colour Scene, Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers, Kula Shaker and Dreadzone.

Below is a review from THE TIMES of the show.

Review: Oasis at Knebworth, 1996

One in 20 Britons applied for tickets to see Oasis in concert at Knebworth. Our critic joined the crowd on Saturday.

Three million people, 5 per cent of the population, applied for tickets and those lucky enough to get them were treated to two new songs, My Big Mouth and It's Getting Better Man , along with tried and tested hits. With a guest list of 7,000 there were plenty of opportunities for star-spotting: Mick Hucknall of Simply Red, Jarvis Cocker and Kate Moss made their way to the celebrity enclosure to compare bodyguards with Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit, and all looked disingenuously surprised when mobbed by amateur paparazzi.

For those not chosen as Kate Moss's plus one, there were tickets still available at a price. Cro-Magnon touts were willing to get you into "The Gig of the Decade" for £300, a sizeable mark-up from £22.50. Once inside, many would have gladly paid £300 to avoid queues. There were 400-yard tailbacks for each bar and toilet. But with the temperature into the 70s and a PA so powerful everyone was guaranteed to leave touched by tinnitus, such matters were of little importance. Oasis took to the stage at 9pm, greeted by a roar so huge that flocks of birds took to the sky from Knebworth's old oaks.

"Hello, hello, hello," Liam said, making a fairly good job of John Lennon's famous "retard" impression. "Let's go." And off they went, kicking out the music that has made the Top 40 truly exciting for the first time in ten years and working hard for the estimated £5.6 million the weekend accrued.

Joined for the inevitable encore of Champagne Supernova by The Stone Roses's ex-guitar player John Squire, Oasis bowed out in a blaze of guitar solos and a firework display. As many tired and emotional punters fell over backwards, disorientated from staring at the sky so long, Martin Carr of the Boo Radleys said: "Everyone in Britain - except Damon from Blur - loves Oasis. They can do no wrong." He would appear to be right.

Oasis Documentary Makers Are Looking For Fans Footage And More

Oasis documentary makers are on the hunt for footage and photos of the band up to 1996. Did you take photos or film at any of the following gigs?

The band's 1994 and 1995 Japan Tours.
The Newcastle Riverside gig, 09/08/94.
The Liverpool Lomax, 13/04/94.
The Limelight, Belfast, 04/09/94.
Whisky A Gogo, LA, 29/09/94.

Any photographs or footage of the band taken backstage/off stage/at parties/ publicity events etc is also incredibly useful.

They are also looking for Chris Evans's interview with Damon Albarn on his Radio 1 show in which he compares an Oasis track to Status Quo.

Noel Gallagher, Bono, Coldplay, Damon Albarn And More To Form A Supergroup At The Brits

Paying a fitting homage to David Bowie is no easy task, but the Brit Awards are trying their hardest.

I can reveal bosses are putting together an A-list supergroup in a bid to lay on the ultimate tribute at next month’s bash.

The band, which will hopefully include former Britpop foes Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn, plus Bono, will perform alongside iconic British acts Coldplay and Adele.

Organisers are even considering asking ITV to extend the show by 30 minutes to give the spectacular the time it deserves.

Yesterday a music insider revealed: “A few artists approached the Brits to ask if they could be involved in the David Bowie tribute as they want to make sure it is done properly.

“He was a British icon and they want to provide a credible farewell which can honour that.

“The band will be full of musicians who grew up with Bowie and were inspired by him, meaning artists like Noel, Damon and Bono.

“It is unlikely to involve young acts such as Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran, but there will be a few artists who are already singing on the night who will be asked if they want to take part too.

“The organisers are putting everything into it. If they get it right, it will be epic.”

Liam Gallagher Calls Style Magazine Journalist Julie Burchill An "Old Tart"

Liam Gallagher has reacted angrily after he was mocked in an interview with his brother Noel.

The former Oasis bandmates' relationship was referenced in the feature published today, with the journalist saying she felt like asking Noel, 48, about his younger brother would be "like mocking the afflicted."

Slamming the rocker, 43, she wrote: "Liam, who once appeared to be living the dream, is now reduced to flogging mugs and bags, among other bagatelles, at his Pretty Green shops.

"Talking about him to his supremely accomplished and satisfied brother - whose dream it was, and who is still living it - would have seemed like mocking the afflicted."

But the father-of-three was less than impressed when he heard about the piece, and called The Sunday Times' Style magazine journalist Julie Burchill an "old tart" who he suggested should snort drugs instead of mocking him, after she admitted she "took loads of cocaine for 30 years."

Taking to Twitter, he raged: "Mocking the afflicted well you'd know all about that wouldn't ya have another line you old tart."

The furious tweet came just hours after he posted a rare selfie to brag about his holiday in Belize, Central America.

Posing topless for the snap, he wrote: "Let it BELIZE"

The former Beady Eye frontman has become increasingly vocal on the social network in the last month and just last week shut down claims he will be following in his older brother's footsteps by releasing a solo album.

He tweeted: "Solo record are you ****ing tripping d***head im not a c***."

But while Liam's been making arguments, Noel's been building friendships, revealing how he ended the Britpop war between Oasis and rivals Blur.

He explained: "We were in a nightclub - I hadn't spoken to him for years, but I hadn't slagged him off for years either. Me, the wife and the kids really liked Gorillaz.

"So when I passed him in the corridor, we said, 'let's go to the bar and get a beer.'

"And he said, 'Well, what was that all about?' And I said, 'Yeah, sorry 'bout that.' It was a bit weird, but it wasn't like two grown me having a weep about it.

"It was more like 'You know what? That time was f***ing brilliant, that stuff was f***ing great!'"

Noel Gallagher On How He Made Up With Damon Albarn

Noel Gallagher has revealed how one of the biggest rivalries in music ended.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Oasis frontman explained how a meeting in a nightclub led to his making up with Blur frontman Damon Albarn.

It all stemmed from when Noel's wife Sara went over to Damon to say they liked Gorillaz and he reacted weirdly, asking: "Who sent you over here to say that?"

"So when I passed him in the corridor, we said, 'Let's go to the bar and get a beer'," Noel recalled. "It was a bit weird, but it wasn't like two grown men having a weep about it. It was more like 'You know what? That time was f**king brilliant, that stuff was f**king great!'"
