Liam Gallagher Quits Hard-Living

Rock wildman Liam Gallagher has quit his hard-living ways and become Mr Boring.

The ex-hellraiser claims he is now a pipe-and-slippers man and he has not even hit 40yet.

The Oasis singer is renowned for boozing and smoking, flashing V-signs, bar brawls and foul language.

But now he has told top celebrity interviewer Lynn Barber that he enjoys domestic bliss with wife Nicole Appleton, 35, and his son Gene, nine.

Lynn said: “He jogs every morning, takes the children to school, goes to parents’ meetings and phones his mum every day.”

Liam also drinks tea and is a fan of daytime TV, including The Jeremy Kyle Show and Noel Edmonds’ cheesy game show Deal Or No Deal.

The revelations of Liam’s comfy lifestyle have come as a shock to his army of fans.

Milkman Mark Waghorn, 40, who has an Oasis tattoo on his right forearm, said: “I should get my tattoo removed. This is not the behaviour I expect of a rock idol.”

Liam, 37, said at the height of his success in the 90s: “Rock stars exercising? I don’t think it’s right. You either got it or you ain’t.

“I drink too much but you won’t catch me doing sit-ups or jogging.

“You see pictures of Bono running around LA with his little white legs and a bottle of Volvic and he looks like a fanny.”

But now Liam jogs five miles a day, and the drone of his treadmill at his London home even sparked complaints from neighbours.

He said he realised he had to change after doing too many “big fat lines … and staying up late talking the same sh** you talked the night before and the night before that”.

He added: “I had to have a serious word with myself. I thought: ‘I’m going to have to tone it down a bit.’”

Noel Gallagher: 'I Got Mistaken For Maroon 5's Adam Levine At World Cup Final'

Noel Gallagher has revealed that he got mistaken for the lead singer from Maroon 5 at the World Cup final in South Africa.

The former Oasis guitarist was a guest of honour for the match between Spain and the Netherlands on Sunday (July 11).

Gallagher said he was enjoying a pre-match dinner with a number of high profile guests when someone confused him for Adam Levine.

"I had dinner with Naomi Campbell, [Nelson Mandela's daughter] Zindzi Mandela, the minister for the interior and some of the top ANC crew," Gallagher told The Sun.

“Armed guards everywhere. Incredible. And I got mistaken for the lead singer from Maroon 5 by some **** from Tanzania!"

Andres Iniesta struck a dramatic winner in extra time to seal victory for the Spanish side.

Noel Gallagher Blown Away By Manchester City's Transfer Plans

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher claims to have been given as glimpse of Manchester City plans which will rock the world of football.

The Blues fan says he was let in on the club’s ‘mind-blowing’ transfer strategy by chief executive Garry Cook over lunch.

And while he appeared to rule out moves for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Gallagher hesitated when asked about City’s designs on Fernando Torres during a radio interview.

The rocker claimed that Cook had written the names of City’s intended 24-man squad for next season on a napkin.

He said, ahead of Sunday’s World Cup final in Johannesburg, which he attended: “I just had a big, long lunch with Garry Cook and the revelations you lot are going to hear in the next month are going to blow your mind – but I can’t say anything.

“Players coming and going, and where they are going to and where they are coming from.”

Pressed on names, Gallagher replied in the negative to Barcelona superstar Messi and to Real Madrid’s £80million man Ronaldo.

But when asked about Torres, for whom City appear to be fighting a losing battle, he refused to rule anything out.

“Garry was writing out these names on a napkin, about who was going to be in the squad.

“Put it down on paper, and the 24-man squad we will have will be looking to win everything next season.

“That’s not being big-headed and saying we are going to win everything, but we have to go into it thinking ‘Who is better than us in the league?’

“Chelsea have more experience and United have more in Alex Ferguson, but other than that I am looking at the names there and being blown away, thinking that we are rightly third favourites to win the league.”

City seem to be lagging behind Chelsea in the chase for Torres, and face stiff competition from Juventus for striker Edin Dzeko.

But sources in Italy suggest Juve cannot afford to compete with the Blues, and that Dzeko will be meeting with City officials this week.

They also raise the prospect that City may sell Emmanuel Adebayor to the Turin outfit to help facilitate the Dzeko deal.

There is also growing talk of a similar deal with Chelsea, with the Blues giving up the chase for Torres and in return being offered either Nicolas Anelka or Didier Drogba.

Andy Bell On Beady Eye

Live4ever’s Matt Humphrey met up with Beady Eye’s guitarist and Ex Oasis bassist Andy Bell earlier today. Andy had been visiting London’s bustling Oxford Street Selfrideges where band mate Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green clothing range is currently for sale.

Andy was kind enough to give us some exclusive behind the scenes info on the progress of Beady Eye’s first album currently being produced and scheduled for release sometime next year.

He revealed that the recording of the Beady Eye album is complete with the mixing stage starting next week and also confirmed what Liam had stated in recent interviews: there will be 2 or 3 singles before the album is released next year.

Don’t expect to see Beady Eye live anytime soon though as they won’t hit the stage until the album is out. He said you can’t play a gig full of songs nobody has heard yet. Andy also gave us some insight regarding the songwriting distribution on the album. Liam has penned 5 songs on the record, Gem Archer and (Andy) contributed around 3 or 4 each.

The tracks on the album are a mixture of tunes that they had been working on over the years as well as new ones. Andy also confirmed that Liam will indeed be on lead vocals on every single song, but that Gem and his (Andy) backing vocals are all over the album. He labeled the album pure pop music, but rock n’ roll at the same time. Bell looked genuinely very excited, enthusiastic and proud of what they’ve recorded so far and is even looking forward to the next record. “Oh don’t worry, we’ve got loads of songs” he assured us.

Noel Gallagher Is Backing Spain To Win The World Cup

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has tipped favourites Spain to win Sunday's World Cup final against the Netherlands.

The 43-year-old Manchester City fan is attending Sunday's final at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
Gallagher told BBC Radio 5 live he believes "the Spanish are the best team in the world.

"Since the year leading up to the European Championships and subsequently from that they have been amazing."

Gallagher highlighted midfield as the area in which the game will be won for Spain, who will have the world class Barcelona pairing of Xavi and Andres Iniesta up against Holland's largely defensive duo of Nigel de Jong and Mark van Bommel.

"The key part of the pitch is can De Jong and Van Bommel stop Iniesta and and Xavi doing the business," said Gallagher. "De Jong plays at Man City and he's a stopper. Van Bommel, he's just destruction on legs. But the Spanish players face that a lot in the Champions League. I think it will be won and lost in the midfield."

Gallagher also believes that although it is right for Fabio Capello to continue as England boss in the short term following the national side's lacklustre showing in South Africa, there should be a change at the top soon.

"I think England desperately need an English manager," explained Gallagher. "They have to get Harry Redknapp sooner or later. He seems to be the only person who could inspire the players to play."

Gallagher was particularly unimpressed with the performance of Wayne Rooney, who failed to score a single goal in South Africa as England were eliminated in the second round courtesy of a 4-1 defeat by Germany.

"He played like he'd been hypnotised in the tunnel before and somebody had whispered in his ear, 'see the round thing, when you get out there you'll never have seen one of them before and you won't know what to do with it'," said Gallagher.

At the end of the day they are not good enough. Next season when I'm watching TV I don't want to hear about Wayne Rooney or Frank Lampard being world class - because you can be world class against Wigan or Sunderland or Tottenham.

"World class means coming to a tournament like this and pulling it off on the world stage and they've never done it. Are there many English world class players? I don't think so."

It is the second time in a row Gallagher has attended the World Cup final.

Four years ago, in Japan and South Korea, he became a lucky mascot for the Italian side after he became friends with striker Alessandro Del Piero.

Liam Gallagher's 'Pretty Green' To Trial Retail Via Pop-Up Shop

Pretty Green, the menswear label set up by Liam Gallagher - frontman of rock band Oasis - will open a temporary store this month to test a retail offer before a possible roll-out.

The brand will open the pop-up store, understood to be on London’s Carnaby Street, at the end of the month. The store, which will trade for at least three months, will sell the summer 10 collection, which includes T-shirts, scarves and parkas at prices between £75 and £480. The brand is currently sold via its website and 60 stores including Selfridges and Xile. Wholesale prices range from £25 to £160.

Pretty Green chief executive Richard Ralph said: “Summer is a great time to open the store because of the tourist trade. We’ll take a view [on opening it up for longer] after three months; we’ll see how it goes. It will form the basis of whether we move into retail.”

Pretty Green, established in 2009, is also setting up wholesale distribution in markets such as the US, Italy and Japan. It already has wholesale accounts in Copenhagen and Paris.
