Noel Gallagher's Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere (Vol.2) Part Fifty One

From Noel Gallagher's 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere' tour diary.

That day was a fucking nightmare. Iree Nancy and our 2 princes had arrived in Los Angeles for a little holiday so I decided to fly to Vegas on the day of the gig. Not something one would ordinarily do as it can be fraught with danger. So . . . got to the airport on time, checked in and all that, sat around for 2 bastard hours until some cunt announced that the flight had been cancelled!! Not to worry though thought I, we still have plenty of time. We'll just get the next one . . . can't we?? Nah . . . the next one was fully booked leaving me stranded!! Had to negotiate trying to get my bags OFF the airplane that had been cancelled only to be told that they'd already been booked on to the flight after that!!! So . . . had to leave my bags at LAX and hire a car to drive me 6 BASTARD HOURS through the desert to try and make the gig! The scenery was incredible and I did get to stop at a Burger King (I ain't been in one of those joints for YEARS!) which was nice . . . on't tell the wife though! Was supposed to be onstage at 9pm. Didn't arrive until 9:35. Walked straight in and onstage at 9:40!! Felt like Elvis . . . that may have been the burger though?!?! Great gig. Lot's of Brits, so it was a good laugh. There was a few roly-poly's in from Yorkshire. I know that because they kept chanting "YORKSHIRE,YORKSHIRE.." at every available opportunity. I bet their ex-wives would've been most proud!!!

Up early the next morning to drive 6 hours the other way back to the Coachella Festival again. They have it on twice now see? By the time we got there it was 114 degrees!!!!!! ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN DEGREES!!!!!!! Holy fucking shit balls?

The gig went pretty much the same as the previous weekend. The night itself followed pretty much the same pattern. Not as chaotic but right up there all the same.

Drove back to LA the next day not feeling great. Spent the day discussing what we could remember about the night before which in my case was virtually nothing. Good job Nancy had her shit together or it could well have been consigned to the dustbin.

The next day I had a video shoot for my new single. That'll be the 5th off this album which is unprecedented in all my time making records. This album is fast becoming my "Thriller"!! I played the part of a slightly hungover grumpy northern taxi driver which is just as well as that's exactly what I felt like. I feel it's some of my best work and most definitely worthy of at least one Bafta. That actress Mischa Barton was in it too. Nice girl. City fan would you believe!?!?

You currently find me in Sao Paolo in the great nation of Brazil. Been on holiday the last week. In a place called Laguna beach. Paradise. Home of the most over-rated band in all of music . . . "The Beach Boys". Nice gaff though.

ONWARDS.

GD.

Jubilant Liam Gallagher Storms Manchester City Press Conference

A jubilant Liam Gallagher stormed Manchester City's press conference tonight, exclaiming, "Top of the league? How about that?"

The Oasis singer and City fan then took a tongue-in-cheek swipe at United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Addressing a room of reporters, he said:

"Fergie? On the whiskey too much!"

Gallagher also met Argentina legend Diego Maradona, who is father-in-law to City striker Sergio Aguero.

He tweeted: "Maradona shakes the hand of God ! http://t.co/GfFxdvYi"

The exuberant outburst followed a tense 1-0 victory for the Sky Blues, putting them in pole position to win the Premier League title.

The pop star had been the guest of City captain Vincent Kompany, who scored the game's only goal.

Gallagher said:

"He invited me to his box, scored a blinder. His family's mega, his sister's cool. Nice one bro'. Vive le Belgium."

Before the game, Gallagher predicted a City victory would see them lifting the Premier League trophy in a couple of weeks:

Damon Albarn's Feud With Noel Gallagher A Blur As He Talks Of Duet

Damon Albarn must be going soft with age - admitting he would now welcome a duet with former Oasis arch-rival Noel Gallagher.

The Blur frontman was involved in many bitter feuds with Noel and his brother Liam in the Britpop era in the 90s.

But Damon now says a duet is a possibility after they buried the hatchet at this year's Brit Awards.

Damon has even invited Noel aboard his Africa Express train - an Albarn-formed music collective - in September.

He told ShortList: "Well, why not?"

"He should come on the Africa Express train in September. That’d be a nice chance to collaborate.

"I never held anything against him, even right in the middle of it.

"I just kind of admired them in a way; that they were better at handling it all than me. They didn’t seem to get too affected by the bull****."

Damon also admits he "got on just fine" with Noel when they met up for a beer in February.

A duet would be the latest in a long line of musical collaborations for Damon.

Since Blur, he has worked on a solo career and a number of side-projects such as Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad And The Queen.

Meanwhile, Manc Noel scored a No.1 album with his first solo project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds last year.

Liam Gallagher: If Manchester City Win Tonight They Will Win The League

Former Oasis frontman and Manchester City supporter Liam Gallagher believes if his side beat their rivals at the Etihad Stadium tonight, they will win the Premier League.

Gallagher said that after Arsenal beat City two weeks ago - leaving them eight points behind Manchester United - he "thought it was well and truly over".

I got back from Disneyland with the kids and we got beat by Arsenal so we were eight points behind and I was getting loads of grief from United fans in Disneyland.

Even Daffy Duck I think is a secret Red, he was having a pop, so I thought it was well and truly over then."

But, United unexpectedly lost to Wigan and drew with Everton allowing City to close the gap to just three points. If they win tonight they will top the table thanks to their superior goal difference.

Gallagher said a City win tonight will mean they will be lifting the Premier League trophy in May.

If we beat United tonight we can go on to win the league but United are a mega team and we will have to wait and see, but the guys are going to be earning their money tonight.
