Adele
Coldplay
David Bowie
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Oasis
Pink Floyd
Sex Pistols
The Beatles
The Clash
The Prodigy
The Rolling Stones
Tom Jones

The Sex Pistols’ song appears on a leaked list of music proposed for the ceremony on July 27, alongside some more notable classics.
The song includes the lines: “God save the Queen, the fascist regime...God save the Queen, she ain’t no human being” and ends: “No future, no future, no future for you.”
Use of the track, which was banned by the BBC when it was released in 1977, reflects an eclectic and controversial style to be adopted by Danny Boyle, the creative director, in contrast with that of the Golden Jubilee concert earlier this month.
The list also includes Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s Relax, which was similarly banned by the BBC when it was released in 1984 on the grounds of its explicit lyrics.
Other music on the list of 86 tracks is more traditional, including patriotic favourites such as Land Of Hope And Glory, Jerusalem and the Dambusters March.
Tracks by the elder statesmen of British pop music are included, such as The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and David Bowie.
And there are classics such as London Calling by The Clash, Going Underground by The Jam, My Generation by The Who and Rudy by The Specials.
They come alongside more recent tunes such as the Sugababes, Push the Button, Amy Winehouse’s version of Valerie and Adele’s Rolling in the Deep.
Rock acts such as Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Oasis and Blur are on the list alongside rappers such as Rizzle Kicks, Tinie Tempa and Dizzee Rascal.
Classic TV and radio theme tunes include Eastenders, Coronation Street, the Archers and the BBC news and film theme tunes such as Chariots of Fire and the James Bond Theme.
Among the fun tunes listed are My Boy Lollipop and Tiger Feet, but there is no room for performers at the Diamond Jubilee Concert including Cliff Richard, Elton John, and Tom Jones.
The music will be mixed together by Underworld – DJs Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – at Abbey Road Studios and the pair have included their own dance music classic Born Slippy, which featured in Boyle’s film Trainspotting, as well as the Prodigy’s Firestarter.
Mr Boyle, 55, has already revealed that the spectacular will feature a Glastonbury-style “mosh pit” but an Olympics spokesman said: “We want the ceremony to be a fantastic surprise for the watching world, and we want the British public to be proud of it.
“There is endless speculation about the content – much of which is simply guesswork, as we are keeping the show under wraps.”

Robert Carlyle

Robert Carlyle the actor who appeared in the Oasis music video for Little By Little, has been speaking about the difference between being a rock star and being a movie star.
"With the rock star fans, it's really full on," he says. "I've been with the Gallaghers a few times, and the stuff from the outside ... I mean, you don't want to go walking down the street with them. I can go anywhere and get the recognition. People will sometimes stop you and shake your hand. And 99.9% of the time, it's lovely and nice. With these boys ... they just cannot do that. They will get mobbed."

Reverend And The Makers

Reverend And The Makers comeback has been given a hefty push in the right direction with Noel Gallagher, 45, praising their new tunes as their best yet.
Top single The Wrestler is out this week ahead of the album @Reverend_Makers dropping on Monday.
Singer Jon McClure, 30, told me: “For Noel to have our back, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks – it’s like the Godfather behind you.
“He said we were amazing. To have people who we have looked up to when we first started making music recognise you, that’s better than selling millions of records. We’re in the best place we’ve ever been.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Oasis star is at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine, to see England take on Sweden.
And he made sure he took along a huge banner for his beloved Manchester City who triumphed in the Premier League this season.
Noel, 45, larked around with our man Chris before kick-off.
The pals were seen swapping jokes and pointing at fellow England fans while their mates swigged beer.
Retired England midfielder Chris was feeling optimistic about the Three Lions chances.
He wrote in his column on Monday: “The Swedes have a star player in Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the rest of their team lacks the quality that France can boast.
“If I was Roy, I wouldn’t be too worried about them. We’ll have more of the ball and if we keep our discipline at the back, we should emerge with the win.”

Pretty Green

Pretty Green, Liam Gallagher’s clothing range with a mixture of rock & roll heritage and a quintessential British flavour, will open its first international store in Japan on 26th July. Liam himself will be in Tokyo opening the doors with a huge launch party on the evening of the 25th July.
This will be a new arm of the business headed by Kojo Kato, a well-known figure in the Japanese fashion industry with over 30 years’ experience. The store itself is situated in the popular Aoyama shopping district of Tokyo and sits amongst other premium British brands.
The label, now in its seventh season and gathering a solid following, has put together a range of clothing designed exclusively for the Japanese market only. Highlights include a luxury wool mix stripe boating blazer and classic polo’s with a twist, the range is underpinned with a very British red, white and blue theme and its trademark Paisley has been exclusively developed, in those patriotic colours, especially for the Japanese range. There is also a dedicated Japanese on-line store where the collection will be available to customers.
Nigel Grant, Brand director, comments: ‘This is a huge statement for us and reflects the way the brand is growing and becoming much sought after. We are delighted to have set up our own entity in Japan to offer our customer’s an amazing retail experience in which they can shop. Japan has a vibrant fashion industry and Tokyo a strong retail market. We see this as a natural progression for us to have a presence there’.

From Noel Gallagher's 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere' tour diary.
Right comrades. Been a few days. Where were we exactly? On the way to the airport to catch a flight to the Ukraine I believe? Yes? I think so yes.
Flight was delayed a little bit and thank God it was. The most violent, loudest and windiest storm passed over the airport as we sat on the tarmac. The plane was being blown from side to side, rain POURING out of the sky. I usually love that kind of display from Mother Nature but when the pilot comes on over the tannoy and says in what can only be described as a comedy dead-pan Russian accent "Good morning. Welcome to Aeroflot AF 83 (or something!) to Kiev. Time will take 1 hour 25 minutes. Enjoy flight.” Whoa!!! Hang on a minute man you're not actually gonna take off in this weather are you!? The engines started . . . (we are all going to die!). Now I'm not a nervous flier by any means, but I was seriously hoping the pilot would see sense and hang back a little until the storm passed. There was an audible sigh of relief when he comes back on and says "There will be delay of 20 minutes. Storm will pass.” Thank the holy lord Jesus Christ almighty we were saved!!!!!!
After that it was quite an uneventful flight. Just how I like them. At customs in Kiev I noticed a peculiar sign as I was trying to enter the country. It was a list of things that one shouldn't really be carrying if one doesn't want one's day ruined by the police . . . amongst the usual suspects - gold bullion, plastic explosives and weapons (although there are always one or two of those on any tour!). There were also these two . . . WORKS OF ART (over 50 years old) and DRASTIC SUBSTANCES????? Now, I have no idea what a drastic substance is, but I intend to make it my life mission to find out and hopefully sample some and relay my findings to you good people of the Internet (and/or mobile devices).
So . . . Kiev? What a great place!! Loving it. Had great show on Wednesday. One of the top 10 of the tour for me. Only marginally spoiled by some fat drunken skinhead English yobs desperately trying to cause trouble. Thankfully one or two of them did and one or two of them got their heads kicked in by some locals. Kind of restores your faith in the unwritten law of karma!! Anyway, great, great night. Felt it all day yesterday though. Total wipe-out.
So . . . there you go. I'm off to see England play Sweden. I shall try and avoid the inevitable blood-bath should England lose which is a very strong possibility. Although I foresee a draw so we, I and the great city of Kiev, will live to fight another day (so to speak!).
ONWARDS.
