Is Noel Gallagher's New Album Finished?

Yesterday Reverend & The Makers‏ posted this on the official Twitter page.

Speaking to the NME in April 2016, Noel said that for his third solo record he’ll be mixing things up. “I am doing something different this time, to amuse myself – I am writing in the studio for the first time. As a rule I’ve not allowed myself to go in with any completed songs, so I am writing in there, it’s happening all around me during the day.”

“Usually I’ll go in, play a song, record an acoustic version of it and then I’ll think of something and we’ll head toward it. Everything we do is a forward motion toward that point. When you’re writing in the studio you don’t know where you’re going, so the flavour of it all can constantly shift. It’s a bit chaotic but the end results are great so far.”

May 2016, producer David Holmes told Gigwise .“People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, uptempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is quite fun.”

Noel spoke about the as yet untitled album again in an interview in June 2016, saying that it’s shaping up to be a “rock’n’roll record”. “Can I point out that it’s not electronic? Everyone thinks that it’s an electronic record, and it isn’t,” He told Exclaim. “Well, not yet, anyway. The first six tracks aren’t electronic. For some reason they all associate David with electronic music. To be honest, I was hoping we might do something electronic, but it’s turning out to be a rock’n’roll record, which is fine with me".

During an appearance on his pal Russell Brand’s radio show last month Noel let slip that the album is being scheduled for a November release. He confirmed that there will be a track called ‘Instrumental Number Three’.

Reverend And The Makers To Support Noel Gallagher In London Next Week

After almost 15 months of touring the globe, crossing 6 continents in the process, Noel Gallagher will bring his mammoth world tour to a conclusion with an intimate one off show at London O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 13th November.

Support for the date will be from Reverend And The Makers.

Noel Gallagher Plays Peacemaker In Rocker Fight

British rocker Noel Gallagher played an unlikely peacemaker after defusing a fight between Reverend And The Makers star Jon Mcclure and his brother.

Gallagher, no stranger to physical and verbal spats with his brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam, invited MCClure and his sibling Chris to a wild party he threw on tour in 2009.

However, the night descended into debauchery, and Gallagher had to pull apart the MCClures after they almost came to blows.

MCClure tells Britain's The Sun, "It was the final gig and Noel said, 'This is mash-up (heavy partying) night. We're going to the moon. Book your tickets.'

"We were all off our nuts (drunk). My brother and I were squaring up to each other and Noel had to step in. He said, 'Ah, this reminds me of another couple of brothers,' then just walked off."

Oasis broke up in 2009 following an explosive bust-up backstage at a gig in France, and the pair has since become embroiled in a legal battle, with Liam suing Noel for libel.

Reved Up By Noel Gallagher

Reverend And The Makers comeback has been given a hefty push in the right direction with Noel Gallagher, 45, praising their new tunes as their best yet.

Top single The Wrestler is out this week ahead of the album @Reverend_Makers dropping on Monday.

Singer Jon McClure, 30, told me: “For Noel to have our back, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks – it’s like the Godfather behind you.

“He said we were amazing. To have people who we have looked up to when we first started making music recognise you, that’s better than selling millions of records. We’re in the best place we’ve ever been.”

Review: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds In Sheffield

And to think Noel had slight misgivings about being a frontman...writes David Dunn

As main songwriting powerhouse of Oasis the ‘fun brother’ was always likely to make the most impact among those who treasured more the content rather than the tribal nature of one of the UK’s most successful bands.

While an element of the latter inevitably survives – plenty of ‘pints’ were still launched from various quarters – Noel has seduced more people with his High Flying Birds.

Returning to the scene of the first Oasis arena gig, it’s evident in solo gems, such as If I Had A Gun and horns-backed current single Dream On, fans of the man and/or his former outfit have fresh anthems to embrace and celebrate.

Sheffield heroes Reverend & The Makers stoked the crowd with a bouncy support set geared to plug their new album, but this was a Noel love-in - and with top price tickets £59.50 a pop, no one here was not going to thrill at his return.

Noel displayed hints of his stadium past, a full choir elegantly lifting Everybody’s On The Run, while stripping Oasis staple Supersonic back to an acoustic/piano-accompanied nugget.

Batman-esque new tune Freaky Teeth hinted at what could follow, while Noel earned laughs when dealing with a boozy bare-chested female fan.

With Oasis classics Little By Little and Don’t Look Back In Anger – the mega hit he debuted in Attercliffe – closing the show it was clear Noel has managed to retain the camaraderie yet lessen the oik count in his transition from sibling rival to solo star.

He may lack the arrogant swagger and sometimes the vocal muscularity of Liam, but Noel arguably bagged all the tunes.

Noel Gallagher Names His Price For Pets

Noel Gallagher has a cunning plan to fill his kids' trust fund – launching an online business naming babies and dogs for cash.

As ever, it's not to be taken too seriously – his head is full of nonsense.

But if the High Flying Birds singer decided to, he could make a pretty penny from all the fans who ask him to name their pets and children.

He joked: "For a long time now I've been naming animals.

"People keep asking me to give them names.

"More recently that's extended to naming and even blessing babies.

"I really want to start an internet business out of it.

"Send me the picture and 100 quid and I'll provide the name and the blessing.

"This ability to come up with names and bless babies has crept up slowly.

"One day you're not doing it then you're doing three a day. It's a by-product of who I am.

"But I won't be known as Reverend Gallagher – it'll be the Very Reverend Gallagher!

"There might even be some tax benefits in it."

John McClure, from Reverend and The Makers, is supporting Noel later this year.

They should start their own firm – Gallagher & McClure.

It's got a bit of a ring to it...

Personal Journey Of 'Reverend And The Makers' Jon McClure

Joining Oasis as they roll into town this week to play one of the largest concerts ever staged in the North will be Reverend and the Makers. Liz Lamb chats to singer Jon McClure . . .

With 53,000 fans packed into a football stadium and the mighty Oasis headlining the sell-out date, this is one of the biggest gigs of Reverend and the Makers’ lives.

But frontman Jon McClure is showing no signs of nerves ahead of the concert at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

“I can’t wait, I am absolutely up for it,” says the singer, who is busy sunning himself in his back garden in Sheffield.

“We’ve never done anything on this scale before, but bring it on.

“You have got to test yourself in different environments. I am quite confident, there’s no nerves. We’ve been to Sunderland loads before and played gigs there.

“People in places like Sunderland, they want to hear bands talking their language and we’re like that.”

Jon is a lover of Oasis’ music, having grown up listening to them, and occasionally hangs out with Noel Gallagher.

“I’m a big Oasis fan,” he says: “When I was 12 I was told to turn off the TV at 9pm but I remember staying up and The Word came on and Oasis were on there.

“It was 1994 and I just thought ‘Oh My God’. It was a bit of a life change. I thought they were brilliant.

“I know Noel a little bit. We’ve been out a couple of times and exchanged texts and he is a brilliant guy.

“He is inspiring. The thing with Noel is he won’t say anything about people in interviews that he wouldn’t say to their face in the pub. He’s just real and it’s just the same for me, as I am very like that myself.”

Rev In Rocks Pulpit

Reverend And The Makers frontman Jon McClure is practising his opening words for the band's upcoming Wembley gigs.

The Rev will support Oasis this summer and is looking forward to their three dates at the stadium.

The 26-year-old said: "At the moment I'm practising saying: 'Good evening Wembley!' It's definetily a tale to tell my grandkids when I'm in my rocking chair.

"I'm buzzing about the support slots as I use to idolise Oasis when I was younger.

"They inspired me to become a musician."

Jon will advise budding rockers in Sheffield at the O2 Undiscovered Workshop tomorrow.
