The Sun Reports That Liam Gallagher Has 'Retired' From Music

It's been reported in The Sun Newspaper today that Liam Gallagher has 'retired' from music.

The former Oasis frontman has not released any music since the break-up of his band Beady Eye in 2014, and is reportably ready to give up his rock and roll career.

"I am retired now. I can write 25 songs but all of them will be a s**t (sic)," he told a fan.

Noel Gallagher Hates The Idea Of His Daughter Dating Boys

Noel Gallagher has never been shy of giving his opinion on, well anything. But it seems there’s one topic he’d rather keep left alone.

His daughter Anais Gallagher has been off partying with David Beckham’s sprog, Brooklyn for his 17th birthday and the aspiring model opened up about dad’s stance on her dating.

Speaking to The Sun she said: "My dad has never given me the birds and the bees chat and doesn't talk to me about boys. He's always, 'I don't want to talk about it'. I remember when me and my stepmum would be talking about boys and he would be like, 'Stop'. He just doesn't want to know."

The 16 year old who ran the Brit Awards Instagram account during the ceremony last month explained that her parents would prefer it if she found a job out of the limelight.

She explained: "My dad would have preferred me not to do anything in the spotlight and have a normal job. My parents are supportive but they have definitely got different ways of tackling parenting.

"It's not their first choice for me but my dad definitely wouldn't want me to go into music. If you have ever heard me sing or play an instrument you would appreciate that."

Although he shies away from chatting about boys, apparently Noel is quite the history buff and Anais’ first port of call when she’s stuck on her homework.

Speaking to The Mirror Anais said: “My dad is really into World War 1 and 2. He is the most crazy history fanatic – he knows everything.”

Liam Gallagher Says He Threatened To Stab Sacha Baron Cohen In Both Eyes, Not Just One

Liam Gallagher has responded to claims by Sacha Baron Cohen that he threatened to stab the Borat star in the eye, saying "it wasn't just the one eye, it was both".

Cohen, who based his look in new film Grimsby on the former Oasis frontman, said the singer made the threat during a conversation with U2's Bono after the GQ Awards.

According to the Ali G star, Gallagher said: "You know what, I'm going to stab you. I'm going to stab you in the eye."

In response to Cohen's claims, a spokeswoman for Gallagher told the Press Association: "Liam wants to clarify that it wasn't just the one eye, it was both."

The 44-year-old actor locked horns with the Oasis rocker at the GQ Awards after-party in London four years ago after he failed to share his joke about the singer, which he had planned to tell on stage, during his acceptance speech and things ended with outrageous threats being thrown around.

Speaking on the US chat show 'Conan', Sacha explained: "So Liam Gallagher comes over and says, 'Why the f**k didn't you take the p**s out of me tonight?'

"And I said, 'I just didn't get round to it', and he said, 'Do you know what? I'm going to stab you in the eye.' I've never heard such a specific threat ... Eventually he didn't stab me."

Despite the bitter rivalry between the pair, Sacha is convinced they have now buried the hatchet and hopes he's won the rocker over by the fact his character Nobby in his new movie Grimsby looks very similar to Liam.

Sacha joked recently: "I thought to avoid confrontation by having my hair done like him in my next movie."

Sacha Baron Cohen On Meeting Liam Gallagher

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen has discussed being influenced by Liam Gallagher for his latest film role in Grimsby, revealing that he once got into a disagreement with the former Oasis frontman that ended with Gallagher threatening to "stab him in the eye".

The man behind Borat and Ali G talked about the physical similarities between his character Nobby and the Oasis star on US late-night show Conan.

"I have had the pleasure [of meeting Liam Gallagher], actually," Cohen said, before telling a story of the pair meeting at GQ’s Men of the Year Awards in 2012.

Cohen revealed that he angered Gallagher by not telling a joke about the singer that he had planned for his acceptance speech, an omission that angered Gallagher.

Gallagher allegedly told Cohen that he was "going to stab you in the eye". Cohen told Conan O'Brien of the incident: "I've never heard such a specific threat... Eventually he didn't stab me but I thought to avoid confrontation by having my hair done like him in my next movie".

Jake Bugg: 'Noel Gallagher's Last Album Is Pretty Crap'

Jake Bugg has hit back at Noel Gallagher after he was criticised for using co-writers on his first two albums.

Bugg, who returns with his self-penned third album 'On My One' later this year, was dismissed by Gallagher last year who said he was "heart broken" to discover that the young artist had worked with other people to write his songs.

However, in a new interview with NME, Bugg breezed past the comments and aimed his own criticisms at Gallagher's 'Chasing Yesterday', which was released last year.

"Noel's last album is pretty crap though, innit?" Bugg says. "I'm not upset about it because it's just Noel – he'll slag off Ed Sheeran and then be at a party with him the next week. It's just the way he is."

Elsewhere in the interview, Bugg reveals that his rumoured collaboration with Beastie Boys' Mike D didn't make his new album because he failed to get a finished version from him. "He was doing a track of mine. But I still haven't bloody got it back. Do you know what it's called? 'Waiting'. Can you believe that? It's like fucking taking the piss."

Noel Gallagher: 'Caballero Is A City Legend Now'

Oasis star and Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher said that goalkeeper Willy Caballero 'is now a club legend' after his penalty heroics in the Capital One Cup final.

The High Flying Birds frontman also said that the title race was out of Manchester City's hands, and Leicester City looked 'unstoppable'.

Noel was speaking from the tunnel at Wembley.

Noel Gallagher Says Sterling Should Give Caballero His Medal

Noel Gallagher has hinted that perhaps Raheem Sterling was lucky to have come away with a Capital One Cup medal.

Manchester City defeated Liverpool in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, winning the penalty shootout 3-1, after it ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time.

Former Reds winger Sterling missed a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 in the second half, following Fernandinho's 49th-minute opener, but somehow placed his effort from just outside the six-yard box wide of the mark.

Philippe Coutinho equalised for Liverpool in the 83rd minute, making Sterling's miss costly, although Caballero spared his blushes with three fine saves in the shootout which prompted this reaction from Oasis legend Gallagher on ManCityTV.

"I think going into the shootout, he may have thought: 'Right, well this is it for me'," said the singer/songwriter of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

"He's a legend now forever, that's it. He's forever. Maybe before today he would have just been like another guy that played for us but he's one of us now.

"I think Sterling will be pretty pleased. He should give him his medal."

The cup was the fifth piece of silverware City have won since they clinched the 2011 FA Cup, excluding the Community Shield.
