A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher has denied that the former Oasis frontman has retired from music, following recent tabloid reports.
The Sun reported on Monday (March 7) that Gallagher had revealed the news to a fan in London, quoting the star as saying: "I am retired now. I can write 25 songs but all of them will be shit".
Gallagher recently made similar comments while live-tweeting the Brits. He wrote: "Music in the UK has been abducted by massive cunts... Thank fuck I got out when I got out".
However, Gallagher's press representative has now dismissed the retirement rumours, telling NME: "In true tabloid style it's not true".
Gallagher recently ruled out the possibility of him releasing a solo album. "Solo record, are you fucking tripping dickhead?" Gallagher wrote on Twitter, saying he would not release solo material as he is "not a cunt".
He also made headlines last week after actor Sacha Baron Cohen claimed that he once threatened to "stab him in the eye".
In a response issued to NME, Gallagher's press representative said that the star wanted to "clarify that it wasn't just the one eye, it was both".
Earlier today, Liam Gallagher paid tribute to the late Beatles producer George Martin, who has died at the age of 90.

'Falling Down' was a single released on March 9th 2009 by English rock band Oasis, featured on their 2008 seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul. Written and sung by lead guitarist Noel Gallagher, it was released as the third single from the album and is also the final single released by the band with the digital release occurring a day earlier.
The song debuted at 10 in the UK Singles Chart.
"Falling Down" is the fifth Oasis single to be sung by Noel rather than Liam (not including "Lord Don't Slow Me Down"). It is also the second Oasis song to be used in a TV series (the first being "Half the World Away").
"Falling Down" posted a subtle improvement from its predecessor, "I'm Outta Time" on the UK Singles Chart, reaching #10 in its chart entry week. This was something of a return to form for the band, after "I'm Outta Time" charting at #12 made it the first Oasis single released in the UK to fail to reach the top 10 since "Shakermaker" in 1994.
Between the two releases the band had put out 22 singles which made the top 10.

However, it still showed a decline in the band's fortunes; from the release of "Whatever" at the end of 1994 until the release of "I'm Outta Time" the band had only had one single which failed to reach the top 4 in the charts, and that had been 2007's "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" which was only a minor promotional release and a non-album track and also download only.
The heavily compressed drum-rhythm and sense of disillusioned psychedelia bear a strong resemblance the Beatles song "Tomorrow Never Knows", being cited as Noel's finest effort so far to emulate the atmosphere of that song.
An excerpt of the B-side song "Those Swollen Hand Blues" appears at the end of "Mucky Fingers", second track of Oasis' 2005 album Don't Believe the Truth.
The lyric: "Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly" references the quotation: "Who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?" from Alexander Pope's "Epistle to Dr Arbuthnot".
The song was released as downloadable content for the video game Guitar Hero: World Tour on 29 January 2009.
The song was used in the opening sequence for the Production I.G anime Eden of the East, which first aired on Fuji TV's noitaminA timeslot on April 9, 2009.

Anais Gallagher
David Beckham
Noel Gallagher
Noel Gallagher has never been shy of giving his opinion on, well anything. But it seems there’s one topic he’d rather keep left alone.
His daughter Anais Gallagher has been off partying with David Beckham’s sprog, Brooklyn for his 17th birthday and the aspiring model opened up about dad’s stance on her dating.
Speaking to The Sun she said: "My dad has never given me the birds and the bees chat and doesn't talk to me about boys. He's always, 'I don't want to talk about it'. I remember when me and my stepmum would be talking about boys and he would be like, 'Stop'. He just doesn't want to know."
The 16 year old who ran the Brit Awards Instagram account during the ceremony last month explained that her parents would prefer it if she found a job out of the limelight.
She explained: "My dad would have preferred me not to do anything in the spotlight and have a normal job. My parents are supportive but they have definitely got different ways of tackling parenting.
"It's not their first choice for me but my dad definitely wouldn't want me to go into music. If you have ever heard me sing or play an instrument you would appreciate that."
Although he shies away from chatting about boys, apparently Noel is quite the history buff and Anais’ first port of call when she’s stuck on her homework.
Speaking to The Mirror Anais said: “My dad is really into World War 1 and 2. He is the most crazy history fanatic – he knows everything.”
