Liam Gallagher Is Working With Andrew Wyatt In Los Angeles

Last week Liam Gallagher posted on Twitter he was going to start work on his follow up to his debut album 'As You Were'

Click here to see a short video of Liam Gallagher posted by producer Andrew Wyatt in Los Angeles yesterday.

In February he told the NME that his second solo album will be "a bit more up-tempo, a bit more in-yer-face. Less apologetic. I’d love to do a proper out-and-out punk rock album – a bit Pistols, a bit Stooges. I can do that gear; I can definitely sing ’em. Some of the sing-y songs are a bit of a struggle when I do ’em live. But the lippy ones I can do all day long. The ones where you spit ’em out. You’re not necessarily singing, you’re just fucking screaming and shouting. I’m all for that".

On his plans for 2018 he said "Hopefully the same, man. I guess the pressure is off a little bit. The last year was mega, so hopefully we can just go in and do some festivals, get in the studio and do a little more – but it will be less pressure".

On April 28th 1996 Oasis played the second of two nights at Maine Road.

An estimated 80,000 people attended the gigs, support for the shows included Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.

Bonehead speaking to the NME on Oasis playing at Maine Road in 1996.

"We weren’t just coming back to play the Manchester Indoor Arena, we were coming back to play Maine Road. We’d all spent years of our childhood there. It was the crowd who made it, for me".

Noel Gallagher when asked what his career high was in 2006.

"I guess, is playing at Maine Road in Manchester because it was the grounds of the football team I’ve supported since I was a child. It was the first stadium we played and it was amazing".

Bonehead in 2016 on Oasis playing at Maine Road in 1996.

"Maine Road was where we all used to go as kids. So I was standing there, trying to make sure I never forgot this moment. And now I can’t remember a fucking thing about it, and yet I stood there for an hour and a half”

"Maine Road was where we all used to go as kids, It looked like a big front room, except there were 42,000 people in it.”

The Blossoms Tom Ogden On Liam And Noel Gallagher

What’s it like being out on the road with Noel?

You probably won’t believe this but Noel is an absolute gentleman. This has been a really enjoyable tour for us. After the shows he will always have a drink with us, he watches the football with us, he is just a really talented and sound kind of guy. There are no egos on tour. The first gig I saw was Oasis at Heaton Park in Manchester in 2009.

Would you say that you got the better brother out of the two?

I don’t know about that (laughs). I don’t really want to pledge allegiance to either side. We have met Liam as well and he really was a proper gent. I have nothing but good things to say about them both.

On This Day In Oasis History...

On April 27th 1996 Oasis played the first night at Maine Road it was the first time the band had ever headlined a stadium.

An estimated 80,000 people attended the both gigs, support acts for the shows included Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.

Fifty one trucks were used to deliver the equipment to stage Oasis' concerts at Maine Road in April 1996.

A giant shipyard crane was used to safely carry it over the football pitch as the club had a game against Liverpool the following weekend.

Brian Cannon had the idea to have images on the big screen of John Lennon, Sid Vicious and more during 'Live Forever' at Oasis' Maine Roadconcerts.

He told the NME “Even Liam didn’t know it was going to happen, that’s why he looks amazed when he turns round and sees Lennon.”

Liam Gallagher speaking in 2017 on playing Maine Road with Oasis.

"To play at the ground of the football club you’ve supported all your life is without doubt the icing on the cake. It’s downhill after that even Knebworth doesn’t come close".

Liam Gallagher on the Umbro top he wore at Oasis' Maine Road concerts

"I went backstage there was some player’s fucking Umbro gear just sitting there and I thought, ‘I’m having a bit of that’, tried it on, fucking freebie innit and, and I fucking pinched it and fucking wore it".

Ever wondered why Boneheads wasn't on the tickets for Oasis' concerts atMaine Road in April 1996, he point blank refused to be in them as he is a Manchester United fan.

Blossoms On Liam And Noel Gallagher

Taken from an interview with the BBC read the full article here.

Who have you met that's been actually cool?

Tom: Alex Turner. Liam Gallagher.

Joe: Noel Gallagher. Paul Weller.

Tom: Those are a solid four. And what they all have in common is they walk really slow. They have a powerful walk. They walk slower than your average.

Have they been supportive of the Blossoms?

Tom: Yeah, definitely. Everyone is just sound. We don't stay in touch and become best mates or 'owt like that. They'll give you a bit of advice, then you have a beer and go and do your own thing. You realise they're just normal people.

Who's left you starstruck?

Joe: My first ever gig with Tom was Oasis, so Noel and Liam are on a pedestal up here. So even when you meet 'em and they're like normal people, in your head they'll always be "Noel and Liam Gallagher". Even now, we're going on tour with Noel and even if we just walk past him in the corridor, I get butterflies. I don't think that'll ever go away.

And Alex Turner - there's no way Alex Turner is a normal human. He's like an alien. Everything he does is perfect. That's why I can never put them people down as normal people. They can't be, can they? They're freaks of nature and amazing.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds To Play Intimate Gig For Radio X

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play an intimate gig for Radio X at Watford Colosseum on Monday 14 May in support of Radio X's charity, Global's Make Some Noise.

Tickets for Radio X Presents… Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are available from 9am on Friday 27 April from radiox.co.uk.

Noel Gallagher said: "We will take to the stage at Watford Colosseum like the supreme beings we are. The local council of elders have offered us an open top bus parade as we make our way to the venue... in the interest of public safety (and the fact that it may well be rush hour) we have declined this offer.

"The listeners of Radio X shall sit at home with their pizzas and weep at the thought of the majesty that they could have witnessed had they been remotely arsed to find themselves a golden ticket.

"For those of you lucky enough to be in the presence of our genius we say this: come, drink, vape, chant my name, shut up and leave in an orderly fashion.

“We are here.
You are there.
Never forget that."

Tickets are £50 plus booking fee, available from radiox.co.uk from 9am on Friday 27 April.

Age 14+ and over, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult

Tickets are limited to 4 per person. The lead ticket-buyer's name will be on the tickets and photographic ID will be requested on entry.

Radio X is on 104.9 FM in London, 97.7 FM in Manchester and on digital radio right across the UK, on mobile via the Radio X app and the Global Player and online at radiox.co.uk.
