On This Day In Oasis History...
On April 28th 1996 Oasis played the second of two nights at Maine Road in Manchester support came from the Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.
The Maine Road gigs were the only concerts that Oasis played their cover of Slade's 'Cum On Feel The Noize'.
It was also performed for TV on 'Later With Jools Holland' in November 1995 and on 'Top Of The Pops' in February 1996.

On April 27th 1996 Oasis played the first night at Maine Road it was the first time the band had ever headlined a stadium.
An estimated 80,000 people attended the both gigs, support acts for the shows included Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.

On April 22nd 1995 Oasis played at the Sheffield Arena, at the time it was the biggest gig the band had ever staged.The concert is often overlooked for some of the other big concerts the band played.
They had moved on from the sweaty little venues I first saw them in and were now selling out arenas.
A year later they would be selling out stadiums.
It would be the last concert Tony McCarroll would play with the band.
