Noel Gallagher
Primal Scream
Sara Gallagher
Noel Gallagher has spoken to The Sunday Times about his new album 'Who Built the Moon?' that is released on November 24th, it's been reported by them that the album is packed with huge choruses and generic sentiments.
And that there are nods to Primal Scream, Doves and Chemical Brothers.
He said his wife Sara, who is “not into guitar music”, was the real test. “If I’m making music, she’ll say, ‘That’s nice.’ But I was playing something new when she burst in to say, ‘It’s amazing!’ I went, ‘Now we’re on to something.’”
As previously reported the opening track of the album, 'Fort Knox', was written imagining that Kanye West was about to put a rap over it.
While It’s a Beautiful World has a bit of French in which a women says something that translates as: “Rest in peace/It’s only the end of the world. The thing is, nobody in the studio spoke French, and they didn’t think to ask what had been said until the lyric sheets were printed. “But then France is a pretty volatile place at the minute”.
“There was a track we didn’t finish that was drawn out of the Paris attacks. And the Nice ones. We were working on it around Brexit, too, and not that I give a shit about that, but, symbolically, we abandoned the French at the time they were under attack. I felt bad for the French.”
“There was a bit on the news after the attacks, about something we put up in space, and it was so fantastic, what humankind had done. The very next day in the news, some shithead who used to work in Lidl was throwing gay men off a roof in Raqqa, and it’s, like, ‘You scumbag.’ The rest of us are discovering the cosmos and you medieval f*****s are throwing gay people. And he used to work in Lidl? In Bury? F****** c***. It’s all going to come out in that song.”
“Well, everything pre-international terrorism was a bit flowery to me,” he replies. “And what annoys me most is you see the mayor [of London] saying, ‘We will not be cowed.’” Gallagher says there’s nothing wrong with being afraid. “I get on the Tube. My eldest is 17. She uses the Tube. My boys are growing up in London and use public transport. I’m frightened.
“Are you going to walk into an attack and die? Or survive with half an arm? Are your kids going to walk into it on a night out? I’m not buying Khan and his ‘London will stand firm’. I live in the centre and it concerns the f*** out of me.”

Oasis
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release ‘Lock All the Doors’ on August 28th. The track is the fourth single from the hugely successful No 1 album ‘Chasing Yesterday’ and includes B-side ‘Here’s A Candle (For Your Birthday Cake)’
‘Lock All The Doors’ has been in the making for 23 years, Noel said:
"There's a song on this record that's taken me 23 years to finish - it's called 'Lock All The Doors'. I gave a bit of it away to The Chemical Brothers in the '90s when we did 'Setting Sun' and I always meant to finish it off. I kept the chorus but I could never find a way of getting the verse to tie in with this chorus. One afternoon I was coming out the Tesco Metro where I live in Maida Vale, and I don't know what it was but it just hit me, coming round the corner, just by Boots, it came to me in a flash of inspiration. This song was never released by Oasis, but the chorus is so fucking brilliant I never gave up on it."
"Lock All The Doors perfectly recaptures the brutish, overdriven thrill of early Oasis" NME

The former Oasis man was talking to XFM at this year's T In The Park Festival when he made the comment on current headliners.
Noel Gallagher has told XFM that he finds large-scale EDM artists "disturbing." Before performing at this year's T In The Park Festival, Noel was speaking about the current state of headliners.
"It's quite telling…that still at festivals the biggest draw are bands who have been around for ten years" he said. "Kasabian are the newest of that lot. They've been around ten years."
"Radiohead, Coldplay, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers. They've all been going fifteen years. So once that generation of nineties bands eventually decides they've made enough money and will retire, then what are we left with?"
I find it quite disturbing" he went on, "for the future of festivals (and youth culture, in a way) if a dude in a hat and a pair of fake DJ decks pressing play on a CD player is what it's all about. That's quite a bleak future."
As well as Noel Gallagher, Kasabian and The Libertines, the likes of David Guetta and Avicii also headlined the festival.

Oasis
Noel Gallagher has confirmed that a song he first began writing while he was still a member of Oasis appears on his new solo album.
'Chasing Yesterday' will be released on March 2, 2015 under the name of Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds. Details of the album and a 2015 UK arena tour were announced earlier today (October 13) during a Facebook Q+A.
Speaking about the song he took decades to complete, Noel said: "There's a song on this record that's taken me 23 years to finish, it's called 'Lock All The Doors'. I gave a bit of it away to the Chemical Brothers in the '90s when we did 'Setting Sun' and I always meant to finish it off. This song was never released by Oasis, but the chorus is so fucking brilliant I never gave up on it."
Gallagher also revealed that an album track, 'The Dying Of The Light', will be familiar to fans from an online bootleg video. "It's a song that one of this lot [points at Q&A audience] bootlegged. I did it at soundcheck on the last tour and somebody taped it and put it on the internet. I thought, I'll leave it there. It's been played quite a few times, but as with these things they always get the title wrong. They call it 'It Makes Me Want To Cry' which is a shit title. Unless it's a song about an onion. It's called 'The Dying Of The Light', which is a brilliant title for a song. How do I feel when people put stuff online? If it's shit, I'd have it removed. But as luck would have it, this particular version of it was brilliant, so I left it there for people to enjoy. It was only an acoustic thing; the finished version is far more grandiose."
Elsewhere in the Q+A, Noel revealed that Johnny Marr performs on the album's closing track 'Ballad Of The Mighty I', which will be the second single from the album. "He's a very enthusiastic artist and I tried to get him to play on 'What A Life', he said. "He's a truly great guitarist and he has something that nobody else has. He's amazing, a top man."
The lead single from 'Chasing Yesterday' will be 'In The Heat Of The Moment'. Speaking about the song, Noel said: "The first single was the last track to be recorded. It's called 'In The Heat Of The Moment'. Is it great? Of course it is. What does it mean? It doesn't mean anything."

This week the 6 Music Breakfast Show have been honoring some of the biggest and most influential names in music. Keith Richards and Johnny Marr have already been in chatting to Shaun during Legends Week, and Chris Cornell will be in tomorrow – but on Now Playing this Sunday we want you to help us build a show around today’s guest, Noel Gallagher.
Without doubt he’s one of the most influential artists of his generation. He helped Oasis establish themselves as poster boys of Brit Pop in the 1990s, while their success continued well into the new Millennium until their acrimonious split in 2009, which set the path in motion for Noel to form the High Flying Birds.
With controversy, spats and sibling rivalries throughout his career he is unquestionably a rock and roll star, and will forevermore be regarded in the highest esteem thanks to his songwriting, musical talent and distinctive voice.
So accept our challenge and help us pick the Ultimate Noel Gallagher Playlist and make it something reflective of his status as a living legend. You could go for:
* Your favorite Oasis hit, B-side or rarity
* Something he’s made by himself as part of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
* Tracks from people he’s collaborated with be it The Chemical Brothers, Paul Weller, Goldie or even Ricky Gervais
* One of his many influences - The Smiths to The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Stone Roses
* Or one of the bands he’s inspired like Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Lilly Allen and The Cribs

Noel Gallagher
The Chemical Brothers want to collaborate with Noel Gallagher on his solo album.
The dance duo have worked with the rock star on two tracks - 'Setting Sun' and 'Let Forever Be' - and have also remixed songs for Oasis and insist they are ready to help him now he has left the band.
Tom Rowlands said: "It's up to Noel, we won't force ourselves upon him. But, obviously, we'd be up for it if we got the call, he's a great musician. It would be churlish not to see what the man had to say and what his ideas were."
The 'Hey Boy Hey Girl' hitmakers have also moved away from their electro roots to work on a film score for Joe Wright's new movie.
Tom admits it was great to be asked to contribute to the film - which is believed to be 'Indian Summer', which is based on the book 'Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire' by Alex von Tunzelmann - because it's a new challenge for him and bandmate Ed Simons.
Tom added to BANG Showbiz: "We're working on some music for Joe Wright's new film as well. He's got a movie coming out next year and we're working on the score for that. The music is going to be contemporary and it's heavy, it's brilliant. It's something different and exciting that we've been offered. It's fun to be able to do something that's completely different. When we work together to make music to play live or DJ with there's a different mindset to when a director says I've got this scene and I'm trying to communicate these feelings. It's interesting it makes music varied and fun."
The Chemical Brothers have also written and produced some music for Darren Aronofsky's new film 'Black Swan', which stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as ballet dancers in a New York production of 'Swan Lake'.
