A New World Blazing at the Gibson Garage London

An exhibition featuring Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds by Sharon Latham

Location: The Gibson Garage London, 61 - 62 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8NQ

Opening Times: Mon-Sat 10am - 7pm, Sun 12-6pm

As it celebrates 130 years of music history, Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand today, has launched an exclusive new photography exhibition at the Gibson Gallery located inside the Gibson Garage London. Titled ‘A New World Blazing’, the photo exhibition features new and unseen images of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds by renowned photographer Sharon Latham. The exhibit will be open daily for six months and is curated by  RedHouse Originals Gallery.

Beginning her tenure in 2010 with Manchester City Football club, Latham was brought to prominence as the first female to hold the coveted position as an official Premier League club photographer and is now well-known for her close association with Noel Gallagher and her celebrated photographs of Noel and his band, The High Flying Birds. Having previously photographed Oasis at Knebworth, Maine Road and the Etihad Stadium, it was also at Manchester City that she re-connected with Noel Gallagher.

Sharon Latham recalls: “The first interview that ‘Pep’ (Josep Guardiola Man City club manager) ever did was with Noel, and that was my last shoot before I left the club. I put my foot in the water and asked to go on a few gigs with Noel on tour and he said ‘Yeah, Shaz – no problem’. When the 2016 tour started I asked if I could shoot a couple of gigs, he said ‘Yeah, come to America’. I was only supposed to be there for two weeks, and it turned into five years.”

The creative relationship Latham formed with Gallagher inspired ‘A New World Blazing’, which documents live performances as well as rare and intimate glimpses behind the scenes with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The exhibition highlights Latham’s ability to capture the heart of the touring experience, offering fans a multi-faceted glimpse of life on the road with the band.

“What are the pictures saying? They are saying: We – NGHFB – have the best job in the world. To work, play, travel, and party with these people is an absolute pleasure. I’m so happy that Big Shaz was there to capture these moments.” - Noel Gallagher.

“It’s an honour and a pleasure to welcome Sharon Latham’s ‘New World Blazing’ to The Gibson Gallery in London” says Lee Bartram Head of Commercial & Marketing EMEA at Gibson.

“Gibson has a great relationship with Noel Gallagher so to see him captured in such engaging and emotional settings while on the road is a thrill and something fans are going to love. Sharon can make you feel part of the photo, like you are there watching or even performing with the artist and this joy is going to be a big part of the Gibson Garage London while the exhibition is open.”
