Noel Gallagher
Noel Gallagher has revealed that he’s a big fan of fictional grime MC Big Shaq, of Mans Not Hot fame.
The alter ego of British comedian Michael Dappah, Big Shaq achieved fame earlier this year with his viral hit, Mans Not Hot.
Noel explained to Radio X’s Gordon Smart: “I came back from New York the other day and I was in the kitchen with my two lads who, as you know, are ten and seven.
“I told one of them to take his hoodie off while he’s having his lunch. He said – and I’d never heard it before - he said, ‘Mans not hot’.
“I was like, what? And he went, ‘Mans not hot’. And I went, ‘Who’s not hot?’. And he went ‘Man’."
“He was going on about Big Shaq. I’d never heard of this Big Shaq before, until three days ago. Man it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
He went on: “I was watching this Big Shaq feller and I was thinking it can’t be real. It turns out he’s comedian called Michael Dappah. And he’s a genius. He’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on the internet.”
When Gordon asked Gallagher if he’d take Big Shaq on tour, Noel replied: “Oh, I’d love to. If you’re listening Michael, get in touch we’ll do some gigs, it’ll be amazing!”
Maybe Big Shaq could play the scissors? He doesn’t like to take his coat off, just like Liam…

Red Stripe presents: This Feeling TV: giving future festival headliners their first chance to shine along with some of the biggest names in the game
Music TV shows once offered bands their big break; any group seeking a platform and exposure fought for that memorable moment to spark chart success.
The likes of The Tube set the foundations for The Word and TFI Friday. They have all since gone along with Top of the Pops, The Chart Show and T4 all disappearing from our screens in recent years.
Jools Holland is the last man standing on terrestrial telly and few new indie bands can elbow their way into his line-up, let alone stay awake during the show.
Things have gone stale in music telly. Until now...
This Feeling and Red Stripe are taking things into their own hands to reverse the trend in 2017. A new partnership is born; ‘Red Stripe presents: This Feeling TV’.
It’s a new music show, hosted by Radio X DJ Gordon Smart, for the digital age providing a platform for new bands in the industry to showcase their talent with more established acts creating some much needed magic on the small screen.
Show 1...it's coming! Sneak peek...
The first show features Carl Barat, Martin Compston, Slaves (who flew back early from USA to do the show), DMA's, Tom Grennan, Black Honey AND a cameo from Liam Gallagher who requested DMA's go on early so he could watch the Manchester derby. Show 1 airs Monday 8th at midday.
“When Rock N Roll makes its glorious comeback, you can bet you will have seen it first on This Feeling TV.” Noel Gallagher
“This Feeling are once again putting their magic where their mouths are and giving kids with guitars the chance to shine on the screen with This Feeling TV.” Blossoms.

The Blur guitarist went to see Gallagher support The Who last night and said he was in "fine voice".
Graham Coxon has praised Noel Gallagher's acoustic set at the Royal Albert Hall last night (30 March).
The Blur guitarist went to watch The Who's Teenage Cancer Trust gig, where he saw his former Britpop rival Gallagher play support.
Taking to Twitter, the Coffee And TV rocker wrote: "Noel was in fine voice and the who were brilliantz.. nite."
Noel Gallagher's set included Oasis favourites, such as Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in anger, which was captured by Radio X's very own Gordon Smart.
The praise from the Blur man will no doubt act as fighting talk for Noel's estranged brother Liam, who vowed to sing Don't Look Back In Anger "bigger" and "better" when he embarks on his solo tour.

Richard Ashcroft
The Verve
A source has told Radio X's Gordon Smart that Mr. Ashcroft has played an important role in Liam's new band.
Richard Ashcroft has helped Liam Gallagher put his new band together. Speaking with Radio X's Gordon Smart, a source has revealed that The Verve frontman was highly involved with putting together musicians for Liam's new solo project.
Ashcroft has previously said he plans on performing with Liam across the summer. Asked whose offer he would accept if both Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher asked, Ashcroft replied to Q magazine: "I would have to politely tell them both that I had something else on and stay at home.
"I played a show with Noel a few months ago and I'm playing with Liam later in the year."
A source has also revealed to Radio X what tracks Liam Gallagher plans to perform live, which include Whatever, D'You Know What I Mean, My Big Mouth and ballad Don't Go Away. Plus, we can expect Beady Eye's Flick of the Finger and The World's Not Set In Stone.
It looks like Liam's live return is going to be something very special indeed. Although no UK live dates have been announced yet, the Oasis legend has confirmed shows at Norway's Bergenfest, Serbia's Exit Festival, Lollapolooza Paris and Spain's Benicassim Festival.
The former Oasis frontman has yet to announce a release date for the album, but we do know that he's steering clear of stadium rock, and instead focusing on a more acoustic sound. Take a look at What We Can Expect From Liam Gallagher's Solo Album now.

Oasis legend and Etihad fan chats to Sun Deputy Editor Gordon Smart, giving his derby verdict and firm views on much more.
Oasis legend and Manchester City die-hard Noel Gallagher is desperate to be celebrating a Manchester derby win over Jose Mourinho today.
The rock superstar tells The Sun’s Deputy Editor Gordon Smart exactly what he thinks about the derby — including who is the most overrated player in the United camp.
GORDON SMART: Right Noel, this is it, the big one. There are a lot of lads from different countries in the City team. How would you get over how important a game it is for the fans?
NOEL GALLAGHER: I think most professional footballers, no matter where they come from, would realise how important a local derby is. They wouldn’t necessarily need to know the history of it. This is the Derby — DO NOT LOSE!
GS: City have so many big games now, does United still feel as special?
NG: It’s the biggest. Nothing comes close. There isn’t even a second biggest.
GS: So if you were sending Pep a text on Saturday morning, what would it say?
NG: Ignore the little gobs**** in their dugout beside you. Bamboozle the fools with semaphore and we shall be victorious. And whatever happens, we’ll still love you.
GS: If United were a band who would they be and why? Same with City?
NG: If Man United were a band they’d be the Bay City Rollers. Extremely popular all over the world (so says the press release). The kids love ’em, mums and dads love ’em, grannies and grandads love ’em . . . EVERYONE ELSE THINKS THEY’RE S***!
City are the Sex Pistols. Enough said.
GS: You’ve interviewed Pep. How is he different from other recent City managers?
NG: What a dude! He’s very, very cool. I could see players, particularly the younger ones, being mesmerised by him. All managers are different, though, which is why we love the drama in the dugouts.
GS: Everyone is expecting some dugout drama today. But if Jose had come to City, would you have been more or less happy than with Pep’s appointment?
NG: I would have been happy with either. But it would have felt slightly like a guilty pleasure clapping the other fella. And any United “fan” will tell you they DESPERATELY wanted Pep, so it’s the double whammy!
GS: You read the Pep book recently. Have you taken anything from it to influence your life?
NG: Ha!! No. Great read, though. He is the real deal.
GS: And would you go for dinner with Mourinho if he asked?
NG: If he’s paying.
GS: Who will be in their job longer, Jose or Pep?
NG: I’m hoping Pep becomes addicted to the Premier League and stays for a decade. Not a***d what the other fella does. Stay? Go? I truly don’t care.
GS: All right then, how do you assess Paul Pogba? Do you think he’s a player to build United around for a decade or a waste of money?
NG: He’s the Mario Balotelli it’s OK to like. A walking hairdo.
Bale, Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez? He’s nowhere NEAR that league.
There will be some funky goal celebrations and bullying of third division opponents in the FA Cup along the way. But, nah mate, not for me!
GS: Do you reckon John Stones can handle the physical presence of Zlatan?
NG: Mangala had him in his pocket TWICE last season and he ain’t exactly up to much!
I think United’s tactics will be clear: Park the bus; hit the big divvy up front; see what happens.
GS: Zlatan was winding Claudio Bravo up this week, but have you got a message for him?
NG: Ibrahimovic? He’s a big dafty, a typical United “fan favourite”. I would bet one of my houses that he wears disgraceful shoes. I make him an unacceptable bozo.
GS: Is there ONE United player you would have in the City team?
NG: David De Gea.
GS: Any Manc Derby secrets/scrapes/shame you can tell us about?
NG: Ha!! Erm . . . no!
GS: Who is the first person you text when City win? Who is first to text you when City lose?
NG: I’m not really a mad texter at football. It drives me mad, to be honest.
My DJ pal Mike Pickering probably would be the first on the phone. I’m not really one for gloating either — unlike that current part-time bass player from the second-best band ever to come out of Manchester (that’d be The Stone Roses!)
I have nothing to say to United fans win, lose or draw.
GS: But what would you do if your daughter, Anais, showed up at the house with a United player draped around her?
NG: She wouldn’t. She’s a blue. The end.
GS: What did the 6-1 game feel like?
NG: It was truly unbelievable. I was in Dublin, just about to start my first solo tour. It was an unforgettable day. I remember just thinking: “Wow! Imagine being THAT s***!”
GS: The season’s only a few weeks old but is this match a pointer as to who wins the title?
NG: I get the same feeling from this one as from the one at Old Trafford at around the same time during the 2011/2012 season.
We were both playing really well coming off the back of huge results against Tottenham and Arsenal. The press were saying it was a title decider then and we smashed them 6-1.
Everyone said we’d walk it from there. But as you know we just managed to sneak the title on the last day. Won’t mean a thing long term.
GS: Would you ever have imagined ten years ago that City would be what they are now?
NG: No, never. I mean . . . did anyone?
The people who took over the club have yet to put even the slightest foot wrong.
The chairman is a colossal dude and as for the sheikh? If Carlsberg did owners . . .
GS: Who were/are the best City players you have seen?
NG: Dave Silva, Sergio, Yaya, Vinny (Kompany), Joe Hart, Kinkladze, Ali Benarbia, Bell, Lee, The Buzzer (Mike Summerbee). We are living in a golden era now, though.
GS: Who is the best current City player?
NG: It really is a toss-up between Silva and Aguero. ANYTHING is possible with those two.
GS: Finally, predictions for the game — and the season?
NG: I think it’ll be a draw. Maybe it has come a bit too early in the season for us to be fully bedded in with the new regime etc. So I can also see United nicking it 1-0.
As for the league? Surely no one is dumb enough to call it in September?
This league regularly makes fools of us all. I just hope it’s a great season and we somehow come out on top.

Noel Gallagher
Oasis
Roman Abramovich
We all know Noel Gallagher is a massive Manchester City fan.
The former Oasis guitarist has a box at the Etihad and is a regular in the away crowd when his beloved Citizens are on their travels.
But did you know the musician is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to prove his commitment to the cause?
Speaking on the Dream Team FC podcast, Sun deputy editor Gordon Smart claims Gallagher and Abramovich had a spat a few years ago.
It’s best if we let him explain…
“Noel Gallagher and I went to see U2 at Wembley in 2009,” he said.
“We went into the dressing room and it was an unbelievable who’s who of famous folk. Roman Abramovich, Bill Clinton, Salman Rushdie, Damian Hirst.
“Noel and I got really really steaming. Noel said ‘come on, we’ll go speak to Abramovich’.
“So, we wandered across slightly pissed. Abramovich’s missus does all the translating for him.
“Noel says to her, ‘tell him I’m a Man City fan and Man City have more money him’.
“She translates and Abramovich puts his hand in his pocket, pulls out a wallet and slapped Noel in the face with it!
“In a way that was a little bit more than friendly!
“Noel laughed. The conversation carried on and we were obviously enjoying it a lot more than he was.

Roman Abramovich ‘Slapped Noel Gallagher In The Face’ With His Wallet
“Then this massive lump of a bloke with an earpiece came across and said, ‘Mr Gallagher, Mr Smart…could you leave Mr Abramovich alone now.'”

Noel Gallagher popped into the XFM studios to surprise Gordon on his last ever Smart on Sunday.
Gordon is leaving us for pastures new - he's returning to his homeland having been promoted at his 'proper' job to Editor of the Scottish Sun.
For his final show we couldn't let him off without a few embarrassing tales courtesy of his showbiz best mate.
"ON BEHALF OF XFM LISTENERS I'D LIKE TO SAY GOOD RIDDANCE" - NOEL GALLAGHER
Listen back as Gordon doesn't get off too lightly during a hour at the hands of the elder Gallagher - including tales of drunken adventures, hiding porn from his wife, more drunken adventures and kitchen based gifts (and Noel Gallagher gets Gangnam Style played on XFM)

The notorious dream team are back to celebrate the Teenage Cancer Trust dates...
Russell Brand is to return to Xfm next month... and he's reuniting with his old friend Noel Gallagher for a special series of shows to mark this year's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs.
The pair are to helm a new programme in the lead up to the week-long set of dates for the charity - the first time in seven years that they've worked with producer Matt Morgan and poet Mr Gee.
Noel told Xfm presenter and Sun columnist Gordon Smart: "Xfm asked me if I wanted to do my own radio show leading up to this year's TCT concerts. I said, I have a better idea. Why don't we resurrect whats-his-name's career? That hairy skinny-legged yogameister, Rustle Brand? Last seen shaming the nation at them Olympics…
"It'll be great to remind people how colossal me, Matt Morgan and Mr Gee were on that bloody show before 'Arthur' got us all the sack. Tune in and see if I'm wrong."
Russell told Gordon: "I miss radio. It was lovely when we did the show. It'll be great to get the old team back together."
This was the show that landed Jonathan Ross and Brand in trouble over the whole Andrew Sachs "Sachsgate" affair. Xfm is excited, ecstatic, pleased - and ever so slightly nervous - at welcoming the Brand/Gallagher team back into our studios.
Noel has curated this year's Teenage Cancer Trust dates, which include performances by Primal Scream, Kasabian, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon and an evening of comedy featuring Russell Brand, Noel Fielding and more.
The Xfm shows will make a fine prelude to an incredible run of gigs at the Royal Albert Hall.
It's going to be unmissable, and takes place in late March. The TCT shows start on March 19 and run through to March 24.
