Noel Gallagher Spent A Bus Journey Yesterday Winding Up Skateboarders

What do you do when you're on a long, boring bus journey between cities in the midst of a European tour?

Well, if you're Noel Gallagher, you spent most of the journey on Instagram, winding up skateboarders.

Gallagher was on a long 5-hour drive from Vienna to Munich yesterday, and decided to pass the time with some pretty amusing pictures that took the piss out of the... ahem... "skating community'.

He has form on the subject of skateboarders, referring to them in an interview recorded at a festival last year but only unearthed recently as a "sport for fucking little idiots".

Other comments included: "Skateboarders can, quite frankly, go and fuck themselves" and "I've never seen a skateboarder, ever, in the streets of the entire world, try and do something and not fall off. The fuck's that all about?"

His comments drew a backlash from several pro-skateboarders, one of which, Alex Olson, posted on Instagram: "Don't throw stones in a glass house, Liam.... If you wanna talk about falling off,Let's talk about that career of yours?" (Psssst... wrong brother, Alex).

However, the whole kerfuffle did at least provide some entertainment for Noel on his bus, as he posted the below pictures to Instagram:

Noel Gallagher Trolls Bayern Munich Fans At Gig

Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher did not waste his opportunity to troll Bayern Munich fans when his High Flying Birds played a gig in the city.

The former Oasis man and his band were playing at the Zenith arena in Munich, when he decided to rub salt into the wounds of Munich fans — who will be losing their beloved coach Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.

Guardiola will take over the reins at Manchester City, with the possibility of Bayern Munich being drawn against Gallagher’s side City in the Champions League semi-finals.

The 48-year-old said: “You know Manchester? This is where your f***ing manager is going!”

The irony will not have been lost on German football fans, who saw Borussia Dortmund lose 4-3 to Liverpool at Anfield after a stunning comeback from Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

And after England came back to win 3-2 against Germany in Berlin last month — Gallagher chose to put club banter first.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are currently on a European tour and will play in Cologne before heading back to the UK in a week’s time.

On This Day In Oasis History...

'The Hindu Times' is a song by English rock group Oasis, and was the first single to be released from their fifth album Heathen Chemistry on 15 April 2002. It was written by Noel Gallagher. Noel got the name "The Hindu Times" from a t-shirt he saw in a charity shop. The song was the band's sixth UK #1 single, staying on top for one week before being dislodged by the Sugababes' "Freak Like Me".

The title has little to do with the lyrics of the song, which are more in the vein of Definitely Maybe's "Rock 'n' Roll Star". It has been speculated that the title refers to the main riffs' similarity to Indian music in sound, sounding as if they were played on a sitar. Gallagher himself says that it is because he had already named the song before any lyrics were written for it.

The song, which combines the powerful fast rock of their earlier work with the psychedelic feel of their later work, was one of the first Oasis singles since (What's the Story) Morning Glory to receive almost unanimously positive reviews from the critics. However, some fans have criticised the song, stating that the main guitar riff was lifted from the Stereophonics song, "Same Size Feet", which was released in 1997 on their Word Gets Around album and uses the exact same, or at least very similar, guitar riff.

The song was unveiled during Oasis' Autumn 2001 Noise and Confusion Tour. The song was due to be released commercially at the same time but Noel decided the track needed more work done on it to be suitable for release.

The B-side, "Just Getting Older", was written at the time of the release of Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.

"The Hindu Times" - 3:53
"The Hindu Times" (demo) - 4:32
10 Minutes Of Noise And Confusion - Pt One - 9:26

The demo version of The Hindu Times is radically different from the finished album version. Most of the lyrics (sung by Noel) are different, and the slower sound of the song is much more "grungy", with a heavy drum loop running throughout the song. It is also a semitone higher in the demo.

The "10 Minutes..." documentary is the first part of a unique feature covering 48 hours on the road with Oasis during the Tour of Brotherly Love which took place in the USA with the Black Crowes during May and June 2001.

Noel Gallagher On Glastonbury And Touring

Noel Gallagher has had his say on the line-up for this years Glastonbury Festival and if he will be playing at the event.

He told the NME “No. They’re yet to ask or make a serious offer. But I am going. The line-up isn’t exactly great though. Not talking about the headliners, but the entire thing… I think, ‘What am I going to see?’ ELO, they’re good. I try to go every year with the missus. We didn’t go last year so we’re going this year and I have the time off.”

He also spoke about the length of his current tour promoting his High Flying Birds album 'Chasing Yesterday' he said “I started this tour last March, it’s been a long one. Tours get longer as the record industry dwindles. No one is going to give up their lifestyle because no one buys records, so you just tour for longer.”

Noel Gallagher Says He Is 'Doing Something Different' With His Third Album

Noel Gallagher has revealed to NME that he is "halfway through making" his next album.

The former Oasis guitarist released 'Chasing Yesterday' in February 2015, his second album release with band the High Flying Birds. It followed on from their 2011 self-titled debut.

Speaking in a new interview with NME, in which Gallagher discussed The Stone Roses' new album and Glastonbury, Noel said: "I'm halfway through making a record now. I'll be back in [the studio] during May when I have some time. Then I'll get it finished by Christmas, hopefully."

"That is absolutely best-case scenario, that it's done in time for Christmas and I'll be able to sit on my arse for three months at the start of 2017, watching Man City's glorious run to football domination."

He did, however, go on to stress how this is his "best case scenario" but that things have "a habit of going tits up and I won't finish it this year and I'll still be working on it this time next year. You never know".

Asked what his third LP might sound like, Gallagher replied: "I don't like talking about it until it's finished, because many a record was bought and sold off people saying 'This is my Sgt Pepper' and then you hear it and you think 'what the fuck are you on about?'".

Noel Gallagher On Manchester City, Leicester City, Tottenham, England's Euro 2016 Chances And More

Noel Gallagher believes Leicester and Tottenham players should make up the core of team following their high-flying Premier League season.

Roy Hodgson is set to reveal which players he will take to the summer’s European Championship finals in a squad announcement on May 12.

The Three Lions boss has previously insisted he will not overlook players who helped the side through their unbeaten qualifying campaign, although the emergence of a number of young stars have put the places of some of the regular crop under threat.

The likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier plus Leicester striker Jamie Vardy have starred at club level this term and excelled on an international stage in recent games for England.

And Gallagher believes Hodgson would disgrace himself if he continues to stick with the old guard despite having a number of exciting prospects at his disposal.

“If Harry Kane, Dele Alli and all that mob don’t start that first game, then the manager is in disrepute I’m afraid,” the High Flying Birds frontman told the Sports Bar.

“And if Wayne Rooney gets on that pitch it would be a disgrace. If that happens it would just about sum up English football.

“For me, you would just pick the best English players from the Leicester squad and the best English players from the Tottenham squad, and all the rest will just make up the numbers.

“Between the two teams they’ve lost about five games [it’s actually seven] all season. It’s unbelievable.

“Rooney is the captain, so that would cause too much of an uproar if he doesn’t get in the team, but really he shouldn’t get anywhere near it.”

Noel Gallagher On The Stone Roses New Album

Noel Gallagher says the new Stone Roses album has put the band in the same mindset as when they recorded their classic debut.

Gallagher, who first dropped hints about the band "blooming" last year, recently bumped into Roses' frontman Ian Brown at a supermarket where he learned about their new music and also chocolate shower gel.

"I am very excited, for them mainly," Gallagher told NME of the band's return. "They're going to play some new songs. I bumped into Ian in a supermarket recently. He was buying chocolate flavoured shower gel. This is not a joke. He leant and said 'have you tried this?' and I said of course I hadn't. He swears by it, says it's amazing. And before it turned into a photoshoot with everyone and their cameraphones, he was telling me how excited they are by it all. He said it was like they were making their first record again."
