Jose Mourinho On Noel Gallagher's Appearance On Soccer Sunday

Jose Mourinho has said that Noel Gallagher's appearance as a panelist on Sky Sports' coverage of the Manchester derby is like him assuming a role as a judge on the Eurovision song contest.

Gallagher will join regular pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher at Old Trafford tommorow to offer his views on one of the most eagerly anticipated derby games in many years.

When asked about Gallagher’s inclusion on the Sky panel, Mourinho smiled and offered up this cheeky answer.

"Noel is a big Man City fan, that's not a problem at all," stated Mourinho.

"I think if someone invite me to be a pundit on the Eurovision Song Contest I wouldn't go. I wouldn't risk myself. If Noel wants to do that, brave man."

Pep Guardiola On Noel Gallagher, Manchester And More

Taken from an interview with Gary Neville and Pep Guardiola read/watch the full article here.

From the passionate fans to the culture in Manchester, Guardiola spoke highly of the city, and revealed which member of Oasis he messages on a regular basis.

"Even last season it was not good in terms of results, but people here were so nice. Here the culture to respect this sport is fantastic. Everybody speaks about that," Guardiola said.

"The city is alive, in terms of the theatre, the restaurants, the museums, the shows, it's every week. And then there's concerts and concerts. It's nice to live this way because in Catalonia it's completely different.

Neville then asked Guardiola about music in Manchester, to which Guardiola replied: "Of course Oasis. Noel Gallagher - I think I can say we are friends, so we text a lot. I met him two or three times, I went with my family to the last concert here at the Arena, so it's good - with a new band.

"He was in one of the best rock groups in the whole of history.

And when Neville notified Guardiola that Noel would be part of Sky Sports' coverage at Old Trafford, the City boss said: "Oh yeah? That's good, I didn't know. He told me he was going to Old Trafford but I didn't know it was there [with Sky]. Please, take care of him."

Listen To Noel Gallagher's Interview With talkSPORT

Some might say Manchester City have found a brighter day.

Noel Gallagher certainly thinks so, with the rock 'n' roll star saying Pep Guardiola has City playing the greatest football he's ever seen.

As a die-hard fan, the former Oasis man did not hold back on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast about his unwavering love for the Sky Blues’ boss.

He said: “He’s just like one of the lads. He’s a dude, man, he’s a proper dude.

“I literally go into that ground when I go and watch that team and think this is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”

Gallagher is dipping his toe into football punditry on Sunday, swapping the guitar for the Sky Sports sofa at Old Trafford.

And he is absolutely dreading the game, expecting Jose Mourinho to field a team of assassins against Pep’s twinkle-toed stars.

He added: “Fellaini will be going out given strict instructions to kill either one of Silva or De Bruyne. Or both.

“I don’t like derby day, I’ve never enjoyed it. It’s too stressful.

“Genuine football supporters will want to get the derby out of the way.

“Wake up, call it a draw, and move on.”
