Taylor Momsen Wants To Write With Noel Gallagher

Taylor Momsen wants to write a song with Noel Gallagher.

The Pretty Reckless singer is a self-confessed Oasis fan and previously met Noel's brother and former bandmate Liam but claims she is dying to collaborate with the 'AKA... What a Life!' singer after covering his old band's hit 'Supersonic' on tour.

She said: ''I'd love to write a song with Noel Gallagher, I'm a massive Oasis fan. It would be awesome, Noel is an amazing songwriter. I've met Liam a couple times, he's super cool, he's totally the real deal, exactly how you'd want him to be, but I've not met Noel yet.''

Taylor also hopes Oasis, who split in 2009 after Noel and Liam had a huge backstage argument, will one day reform and the 20-year-old star admits her band's cover of the their song wasn't always well-received by fans at their live shows.

She continued: ''We used to cover 'Supersonic' [in our set] and thought everyone would flip out over it. We mixed it with 'Time Is Running Out' [by Muse] and put it together.

We thought everyone would go nuts, but it was kind of 50/50 when we hit the UK, whether they loved it or hated it.''

The singer, whose band have just released their second album 'Going To Hell', would also like to play with American rock band Soundgarden.

She added: ''I'm dying to play with Soundgarden, or play at a festival with them, which I think we are doing.''

Record Store Day Unveils 2014 Releases: Oasis, Paul Weller, Nirvana, Jake Bugg, And More

Nirvana, Paul Weller and Oasis are among the artists who have contributed releases to Record Store Day 2014.

Paul Weller will release new material on a seven-inch, with the single limited to just 2,500 copies. Meanwhile, Nirvana's 'Pennyroyal Tea' will be released on the same format and Oasis' debut single 'Supersonic' will be re-released on 12-inch. A full list of all of this year's releases can be found on the official Record Store Day website.

David Bowie has outlined plans to release a seven-inch picture disc of 'Rock'N'Roll Suicide' in the UK. First released as a single in 1974, the new version is backed with 'Farewell Speech', recorded at the final Ziggy Stardust concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon in July, 1973.

Sex Pistols will release a limited-edition numbered seven-inch vinyl boxset which features alternate takes of 'Never Mind The Bollocks' tracks, plus two 1977 studio mixes of 'Belsen Was A Gas', including a previously unreleased demo version of the song.

'Live At Silver Platters, Seattle' is a four-track EP recorded by Jake Bugg at the singer-songwriter's January 20, 2014 instore show in the US city. It sees Bugg performing acoustic versions of tracks from his debut album and 2013 follow-up 'Shangri La', including breakthrough hit 'Lightning Bolt'.

Meanwhile, LCD Soundsystem's farewell concert, 'The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden', will come out as a five-LP set for Record Store Day, with a wider vinyl and digital release set for May 19. The recording will be an unabridged version of the band's final gig, coming in at almost four hours long.

Suede will put out their single 'Let Go' on vinyl for the first time. The track was originally released as a limited-run CD single in Sweden in 1999. The seven-inch will feature 'Heroin' as a B-side.

Green Day have announced plans to release 18 demos, including a previously unreleased track from recording sessions from the 2012 '¡Uno!', '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!' trilogy. The release will be available on coloured vinyl, CD and cassette.

Savages, Drenge and Summer Camp are among the bands set to appear on a charity album released in conjunction with Record Store Day UK and War Child. War Child will be the official charity for this year's event and, together with XFM, a limited-edition record has been produced featuring the best of DJ John Kennedy’s X-Posure Sessions.

Other big name artists contributing to this year's event include Damon Albarn, The Beach Boys, Chvrches, Edwyn Collins, Disclosure, Fleetwood Mac, Haim, Joy Division, Kings Of Leon, Metronomy, OutKast, Slipknot and The Rolling Stones, while Temples and Jagwar Ma have teamed up for a split seven-inch.

A number of mystery artists have contributed to the Secret 7" project in which seven tracks are pressed onto vinyl 100 times before artists are invited to design one-of-a-kind sleeves for the records. The names of the seven artists and musicians will be revealed this Monday (March 24).

Chuck D has been named as the official ambassador of Record Store Day 2014. Speaking about his appointment, he commented: "In this age where industry has threaded the music sound with virtual sight and story I am honoured to be called upon to be Record Store Day Ambassador of 2014. With the masses, neck bent into their smartphones, let all of us music lovers GPS our way into a reality that is the record store. It's worth a great try, let's do this."

Record Store Day was launched in the US seven years ago, coming to the UK a year later.

Liam Gallagher 'Takes To Running Backwards' In Bid To Stay Fit

Liam Gallagher has reportedly taken to jogging backwards around his local neighbourhood.

A report in The Sun today (March 21) states that the Beady Eye frontman has been seen taking part in the unusual method of running, known as retro running, by onlookers in Hampstead, north London.

One onlooker told the tabloid, "I thought it was a bit rich for a millionaire who sings to fans about 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' to be taking his fitness that seriously. Mind you, he did manage to retain the frontman sneer, even running backwards."

Personal trainer Jason Doggett, however, revealed that retro running holds health benefits: "It is common practice among athletes. It's useful for sports that require multi-directional movement, not least for football."

Recently, Gallagher urged Oasis fans not to buy the forthcoming reissue of the band's debut album 'Definitely Maybe'. Writing on Twitter, he said: "HOW CAN YOU REMASTER SOMETHING THATS ALREADY BEING MASTERED.DONT BUY INTO IT.LET IT BE LG X"

It was announced on last month (February 26) that the album would be reissued to mark its 20th anniversary in May, and will include rare and unreleased recordings. The reissue is the first in the new Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings, with follow-up albums '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' and 'Be Here Now' to be reissued later in the year.

Liam Gallagher Gives Advice To New Band The Dexters

Liam Gallagher has been giving advice on how to survive in the music industry to Dexters.

The new band - made up of Tom Rowlett, Chris Heggie, Ben Debo and Vincent Dignan - have been given a few tips from the former Oasis frontman as they prepare to release their debut album 'Shimmer Gold' on Monday March 17.

Frontman Tom told BANG Showbiz: "I went to watch Beady Eye play in King's Cross and then got invited back to a hotel across the road. I was sitting at this table with Liam and other cool people, drinking beers, I thought, 'This is life, I could do this all the time'.

"He was giving us advice saying, 'Don't f***ing listen to anyone else, just do what you wanna do'. How you thought he would be ... he was."

Tom, who formed Dexters two years ago, was a big fan of Oasis growing up and was inspired by their music.

He's now written the tracks for his band's debut album and is looking forward to their tour in coming months.

Tom continued: "It's our first album and they say you have your whole life to write it but I doubt there's one song on the album that we were playing in our first year, most of them were written over the past couple of months.

"[The album is] a retrospective of sh*t I've done and things I want to do and I'm really looking forward to the tour, this is going to be a step up, we're doing loads of festivals over the summer and then hitting Germany."

Tom insists Dexters are out to make their own mark in the industry and doesn't like people comparing them to other indie rock acts.

He said: "One time we got compared to Pigeon Detectives and I went 'F**k off, I'm not f***ing having that'. I get it, we're lively on stage, but we don't wear leather jackets and our songs are about something, not just nonsense.

"I was like, 'Listen [to our music], before you start chatting that b***ks."

Dexters have also released their new single 'Recover' from their debut record.
