Noel Gallagher believes Leicester and Tottenham players should make up the core of team following their high-flying Premier League season.
Roy Hodgson is set to reveal which players he will take to the summer’s European Championship finals in a squad announcement on May 12.
The Three Lions boss has previously insisted he will not overlook players who helped the side through their unbeaten qualifying campaign, although the emergence of a number of young stars have put the places of some of the regular crop under threat.
The likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier plus Leicester striker Jamie Vardy have starred at club level this term and excelled on an international stage in recent games for England.
And Gallagher believes Hodgson would disgrace himself if he continues to stick with the old guard despite having a number of exciting prospects at his disposal.
“If Harry Kane, Dele Alli and all that mob don’t start that first game, then the manager is in disrepute I’m afraid,” the High Flying Birds frontman told the Sports Bar.
“And if Wayne Rooney gets on that pitch it would be a disgrace. If that happens it would just about sum up English football.
“For me, you would just pick the best English players from the Leicester squad and the best English players from the Tottenham squad, and all the rest will just make up the numbers.
“Between the two teams they’ve lost about five games [it’s actually seven] all season. It’s unbelievable.
“Rooney is the captain, so that would cause too much of an uproar if he doesn’t get in the team, but really he shouldn’t get anywhere near it.”

Noel Gallagher says the new Stone Roses album has put the band in the same mindset as when they recorded their classic debut.
Gallagher, who first dropped hints about the band "blooming" last year, recently bumped into Roses' frontman Ian Brown at a supermarket where he learned about their new music and also chocolate shower gel.
"I am very excited, for them mainly," Gallagher told NME of the band's return. "They're going to play some new songs. I bumped into Ian in a supermarket recently. He was buying chocolate flavoured shower gel. This is not a joke. He leant and said 'have you tried this?' and I said of course I hadn't. He swears by it, says it's amazing. And before it turned into a photoshoot with everyone and their cameraphones, he was telling me how excited they are by it all. He said it was like they were making their first record again."

What inspires you most, love or hate?
Hatred has never inspired me. And I don’t think this is something that I have really experienced. I want to say that apart from terrorism I don't hate a lot of things. Love provides a lot more inspiration than the negative side of life. It is obvious that there are people who write songs about pain and sadness, like fucking Radiohead and damned Adele, but love is something much more noble to talk about. Falling in and out of live, finding love, detaching. It's one of the things that makes us human, and in the course of your life you fall in love with almost everything, your parents, your pets, music, girls, politics ...
What do you think of United Kingdom leaving the European Union?
I support it.
Politicians ...
They're idiots. They let Hitler did the same thing in 1938 and in 1939, annex this country and then this territory and then the ... The only thing you have to do when you face things like that is the fucking war and who dies in war is our working class, our young people. I understand that the rulers don’t want to send people to war, but sitting there with their idle hands they will irrevocably lead us to that.
I was going to say that you do not have a good opinion even of those who rule.
The only concern of politicians is the perception that one has of them through the media. They don’t give a fuck about people. We live in a very strange world, liberal and politically correct, in which one can speak of massacred people in the streets ... until you insult the people who made it. And this madness means that one takes refuge in his own little family and give them to everyone else. It deprives you of your natural goodness, soul, the one that tells you to help others. However, as there are evil people and rulers who either remain paralyzed or tell you to turn the other cheek, people today - and I'm not among them - are losing their humanity.

Do you usually compose on tour?
Well, now that you mention it... In my previous tours, I wrote many songs, and on this one, not one. What I do is listen to lots of music.
What was the last new band that has impressed you?
Jungle, definitely. They're from London, and they're kinda like Sly & the Family Stone of the 21st century, they're brilliant.
Who knows, maybe at some point you influenced them. Do you often think about your enormous influence in the music of the last quarter century?
I know my songs mean the world to many people around the planet, but no, I do not usually think about it. In fact, when I'm not thinking about music, I usually only think of football.
You have achieved almost everything in the music world. But, is there something else you'd like to do?
Yes, I want to compose a soundtrack one day. But, you know why? So I can go to the Oscars with my wife and tell a few directors that their films are shit, haha! And it would be great to win an Oscar.
Having the power to reunite Oasis when they please must be like having within reach the nuclear button, right?
Haha! The question is, what for? To make lots of money? I have lots of money. To do something enjoyable? What I'm doing with the High Flying Birds is very enjoyable. To make people happy? I'm already doing that with my new band. Anyway, I'm a man who moves by instinct. If tomorrow I wake up in my Madrid hotel thinking that reuniting Oasis would be great, I'd do it.
What do you think of Axl Rose going to be the singer in the AC/DC tour?
Oh god, that can't happen.
The rumor continues to grow... Pictures have appeared of them coming out of rehearsal together.

"Supersonic" is the debut single released by British rock band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher. It also appears on their debut album, Definitely Maybe. It was released on the 11 April 1994 and peaked at #31 on the official UK charts. It was the song performed by the band on their debut national TV performance on Channel 4's The Word, which aired on 18 March 1994. It remains to this day a favourite song of both the band and their fans (on the Definitely Maybe DVD, Noel cites it as his favourite Oasis song). The single went silver in the UK on June 30, 2006, 12 years and 3 months after its original release.
In spite of its popularity, Gallagher claims the song is basically a collection of nonsense lyrics written in a matter of minutes, just before the band entered the recording studios to record the track. The identity of the character "Elsa" caused some confusion — according to the song She done it with a doctor/On a helicopter/she sniffin' in a tissue/Sellin' the Big Issue. Noel claims, "Someone told me "Supersonic" was about teenage prostitution. Shit!". It has since been revealed that Elsa was a nine-stone rottweiler with a flatulence problem who was in the studio on the day the song was written, hence the line "she's into Alka Seltzer". It was written and recorded at The Pink Museum in Liverpool. The plan was for Oasis to record "Bring It On Down" for their debut single and another bunch of demos. However, "Supersonic" was written and it impressed everyone so much, it was chosen to be the band's first single. Gallagher has revealed in interviews that "Supersonic"'s distinctive lead guitar part wasn't a deliberate copy of the intro to George Harrison's 1971 single "My Sweet Lord". The band recorded two videos for the song, for UK and US release. The UK version of the video features the band playing on a roof, similar to The Beatles' rooftop concert.
It is included on the official music album for Euro 2004, Vive O 2004!

Noel Gallagher has offered his views on terrorists, and said he thinks they should all be killed, in a political rant.
The Oasis guitarist and songwriter offered his political opinions ahead of a series of gigs in Madrid and Barcelona, and branded the world “a pretty s**ty place”.
He said: “They will try to finish with us all only because of some twisted logic supposedly sent by their God.
“How can you reason with someone like that?
The High Flying Birds front man continued on to the Spanish paper, El Mundo: “Too many people are going to die because of the freedom of movement in Europe: in Brussels, in Paris, in London, or in any other place where they carry a bomb under their coat.
“The most important thing is that out leaders do nothing, they just talk. When something happens, they talk about what’s happening and go on about how we should unite to defeat terror.
“In England, all they know how to do is go on TV after the event when the bodies are still on the ground.”
He added: “I ask myself what they’re going to do so it doesn’t happen again, why those terrorists were able to get into a car full of explosives, cross 3 borders and then escape.
“I would set up some nice border controls and find out who these people are and what they’re doing there.”
Noel also revealed he is in favour of Brexit.

The High Flying Birds front man continued on to the Spanish paper, El Mundo: “Too many people are going to die because of the freedom of movement in Europe: in Brussels, in Paris, in London, or in any other place where they carry a bomb under their coat.
“The most important thing is that out leaders do nothing, they just talk. When something happens, they talk about what’s happening and go on about how we should unite to defeat terror.
“In England, all they know how to do is go on TV after the event when the bodies are still on the ground.”
He added: “I ask myself what they’re going to do so it doesn’t happen again, why those terrorists were able to get into a car full of explosives, cross 3 borders and then escape.
“I would set up some nice border controls and find out who these people are and what they’re doing there.”
Noel also revealed he is in favour of Brexit.
