Noel Gallagher Says Pep Guardiola Has A Massive Job On His Hands At Manchester City

Manchester City superfan Noel Gallagher has told talkSPORT this season will be a ‘massive failure’ if the Blues fail to qualify for next year’s Champions League.

It’s been a disastrous end of the season for outgoing manager Manuel Pellegrini, with City bowing out of the Champions League semi-final in pathetic fashion against Real Madrid, while their Premier League top four hopes have also crumbled in recent weeks.

A slide in results, claiming just one win in four games, means Man City now need West Ham to beat Manchester United on Tuesday night to keep their chances alive.

If United win their final two games of the season, City - who only have one more game to play -  win finish fifth.

And Gallagher joined the Sports Bar on Monday night to vent his fury and frustration with the team.

“If we end up failing to qualify for the Champions League, this season will be a massive failure - even though we won the League Cup,” the English rock legend and High Flying Birds frontman told talkSPORT.

“The fact a top four place is not in our hands is unfathomable.

“It’s an absolutely disgrace that City are waiting on West Ham to do us a favour against Manchester United.

"And Leicester are 17 points in front of us – that’s just insane!

“We’re in big trouble here, because if we don’t qualify for the Champions League, how are we going to attract the players who are rumoured to be coming?

“There’s talk of big players coming in the summer, and if they all want to play in the Champions League, are they going to come?

“Pep has a massive job on his hands.”

Pellegrini had the chance to end his reign at the club with glory, after guiding City to their first ever Champions League semi-final.

But, despite playing in what was arguably the biggest game in the club’s history, the Blues’ stars failed to turn up – registering just one shot on target as Real won 1-0 to progress to the final against Atletico Madrid.

And Gallagher has plenty to say about that, too.

“I was out there in Madrid and the whole thing was just so disappointing, the two legs were really deflating,” he added. “To not muster a shot on target was a pretty damning statistic.

“I was walking out of the Bernabeu thinking, ‘I would have rather got beat 5-0’.

“If a manager like Mourinho, Klopp or Mancini was on the touchline instead of Pellegrini, would the team have mustered a bit more fight? I think they would have. I’m looked over at the manager during the game, and he’s  stood with his hands in his pockets and I’m just thinking, ‘come on man!’

“Who wants to get to the semi-final of the Champions League and finish fifth in the Premier League? No one!

“I would have rather gone out in the last-16 and finished third.”

The Bluetones Mark Morriss Says Oasis 'Bores Him S**tless'

Mark Morriss from The Bluetones has lashed out at Oasis for their lack of drive and thinks the frontman Liam Gallagher should concentrate on his clothing collection Pretty Green instead of contemplating a musical comeback.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Mark said: "I've got no interest in Oasis' music and their fans are generally horrible - they attract an element that I don't find appealing - a stadium full of guys peeing into pint pots, it's not really my band. I've never been an Oasis fan - it bores me s**tless."

He explained: "Oh I love Liam, I have nothing against him but I would say he should just concentrate on his shirts now, the polo shirts, the jumpers and the trousers because I think he's probably better suited to that. He doesn't strike me as a man who is passionate about music so why should he feel like he should get involved - he probably doesn't want to."

Daniele De Rossi Reveals His Love For Oasis

Roma Midfielder Daniele De Rossi has revealed his love for Oasis.

Speaking to the official Roma website, the 32-year-old revealed that what intrigued him most about the possibility of joining Manchester City a number of years ago was the prospect of meeting Liam and Noel Gallagher.

“I grew up listening to them and I know all their songs off by heart. I liked those guys, they were real characters. They weren’t always conventional or very easily approachable but I really liked the stereotype they represented – rock stars off their heads.

There was a lot of talk about me moving to Manchester City a few years ago but I’ve never wanted to leave Rome. What excited me the most about that prospect, however, was the fact that I could have met the Gallagher brothers.”

Irvine Welsh To Write A Movie Telling The Story Of Oasis And Creation Records

Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh is penning a new biopic based on the life of Creation Records boss Alan McGee.

Creation Records boss Alan McGee is the subject of a new biopic by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh.

The movie will tell the story of his hard beginnings in working class Glasgow, through bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream, to his discovery of a little Manchester band called Oasis .

Alan, 55, told Mirror Celeb: "I've been friends with Irvine and Dean Cavanagh for a long time - but when I was approached about the movie I still though people were joking.

"They are genius writers and really cool mother f***ers. I've read the first draft and it's very gritty like Trainspotting but then again my book is gritty - my life was gritty."

From a hard childhood in Glasgow, McGee rose up to become one of the most recognisable managers in the world.

20 years ago last month his most famous protégés - the brothers Gallagher played one of their finest series of gigs at Maine Road.

Welsh, known for writing the likes of Filth and Porno has adapted a screenplay called Creation Stories, based on McGee’s memoir The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label.

It will be introduced at the upcoming Cannes film market.

Burning Wheel Productions’ Hollie Richmond, Shelley Hammond and Nathan McGough will produce the film alongside Orian Williams.

McGee is staying tight-lipped on who will be playing him in the movie which spans his childhood through to selling 60 millions records.

And of course there is no word yet on who will be playing Liam and Noel Gallagher - who are of course a huge part of the story.

McGee added: "I'm very excited. From my beginnings to selling millions of records to now having a movie made about me - how can I complain?"

Liam Gallagher Praises 'Biblical' Oasis Documentary

Liam Gallagher has proclaimed the hotly-anticipated Oasis film coming out later this year 'biblical' after viewing the first cut.

The documentary is being produced by the team behind Oscar-winning biopic Amy, about the late pop star Amy Winehouse , and will chronicle the Britpop band's astronomical rise to fame through reams of archive footage - much of it unseen until now.

Liam appeared wistful for the old days as he tweeted: "Just seen the 1st cut of the OASIS film BIBLICAL what ever happened to my ROCKNROLL LG x."

Filmmakers are said to have been given unprecedented access to the band for the project, with Burnage-born brothers Liam and Noel both offering their insight in candid interviews.

Manchester music fans will have seen director Mat Whitecross's handiwork before in his 2012 film Spike Island, about the Stone Roses' legendary 1990 gig of the same name. He also directed Ian Drury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll in 2010.

Titled Oasis - The Rock 'N' Roll Band That Defined A Generation, the new film is set to be released in cinemas later this year.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher is back in the studio to work on his new High Flying Birds album. He posted on his Instragram account: 'That's me done for a while now. I'm back in the studio. See you in The USA.'

Noel Gallagher Dedicates 'Don’t Look Back In Anger' To Wayne Rooney's Hair

Noel Gallagher left fans in stitches by mocking Wayne Rooney’s hair.

The hardcore Manchester City fan dedicated the final song of a gig to the United striker’s transplanted thatch.

He had concert-goers chuckling in the aisles at the show in Rooney’s home city of Liverpool.

Before playing Oasis classic Don’t Look Back in Anger, Noel said: “This is the last track.

“It’s called: ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and I’d like to dedicate it to Wayne Rooney’s hair.

“Wayne’s hair - this one’s for you.”

This is not the first time Noel, performing with his High Flying Birds band, has targeted the 30-year-old England captain.

The 48-year-old singer once sent Wazza a signed guitar for his birthday - in Manchester City’s famous blue colours.

And estranged brother Liam, 43, once said Rooney “looked like a balloon”.
