Liam Gallagher
Noel Gallagher
Oasis
You’ll be able to watch Chris talk to the Mancunian superstar about life, running, Twitter, his solo career, Oasis and the current state of his relationship with Noel later today.
Two men. One pub. Lots of swearing. One incredible interview caught on camera.
As Liam Gallagher prepares to release his debut album, Chris Moyles decided the time was right to delve further into the mind of Manchester’s favourite son.
As You Were drops in October, with a new band, new songs and a new Liam. This Liam has taken up running, loves Twitter and is addicted to Love Island. What’s going on inside his head?
Chris and Liam sat down in a North London hostelry one afternoon to chat on camera. And they chatted. A lot. They covered everything: Fame. Money. Running. Twitter. Idiots on Twitter. Sitting around at home scratching your arse. Getting back in the game.
And, of course, Noel. And Oasis.
What’s the current state of play between the Gallagher brothers? How much money would get Oasis back together? Has Noel heard any of Liam’s solo material? What does he think?
It’s the most revealing interview with Liam you’ve ever seen. And we’ll be sharing this online exclusive across Radio X’s social channels on Monday 7 August at 8pm.

Fans at Osheaga could have been forgiven for worrying that Liam Gallagher might not play a full set on Saturday. The notoriously temperamental musician had recently walked off stage after a few songs at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival.
In Montreal, however, Gallagher did not disappoint. He delivered what columnist Brendan Kelly described as “an epic, killer set of melodic hard rock.”
And in the heat of summer, he did it all while wearing a parka that was buttoned up to his chin.

Liam, 44, said: “I have been chased down the road by lots of guys as well" and bragged he could never suffer depression – because he is too good looking.
Rocker Liam Gallagher has said he gets plenty of attention from the fellas as well as the ladies.
The former Oasis frontman also bragged he could never suffer depression – because he is too good looking.
Liam, 44, said: “I have been chased down the road by lots of guys as well.”
Asked if he had ever been seduced by men, he replied: “They have had a go.”
And on whether he had experimented with male romance, he said: “F*** no – not first base. They just sent me a box of chocolates and s***. That is as far they got and I ate them.
"But I am a frontman and a f***ing good looking one at that.”
Asked if he ever feels down coping with ex-wives and his bitter feud with brother Noel, he added: “F*** that.
“Have you seen how I look? I look great. The minute I slip into depression I just have a quick look in the mirror.”
And in a swipe at Noel, 50, he said: “He looks like my dad.”
Liam, speaking in a US interview, also said he loves girlfriend Debbie Gwyther but they row – over TV shows like Love Island.
He added: “She is hot. She is not fitter than me but she is getting there.”
Liam was blasted this week after he walked off stage 10 minutes into a set in Chicago. He apologised on Twitter and blamed it on throat problems.
He plays in Canada this week before heading to the Far East.

Lollapalooza had barely started its opening day when it had its first major headline. Only 20 minutes into a set scheduled for an hour during the Chicago festival’s first day, Liam Gallagher walked offstage.
According to Setlist.fm, Gallagher opened with two songs he made famous with Oasis, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” and “Morning Glory,” before moving on to two cuts from his upcoming As You Were, the single “Wall of Glass” and “Greedy Soul,” and then leaving the stage. Greg Kot, music critic for the Chicago Tribune, said that Gallagher ended the show without any explanation.
At 5:30PM Central, the time his set was supposed to end, Gallagher sent out a tweet in which he said vocal problems were the reason he cut his set short. “Sorry to the people who turned up for the gig in Chicago lollapalooza,” he wrote, “had a difficult gig last night which f—ed my voice. I’m gutted.”

Every once in a while a performer comes to Beijing that’s so phenomenal they’ve got the entire city chattering their name.
What’s your approach to writing music? Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics?
Everything that I’ve ever written about has been what’s gone on in my life, whether it’s the past, the present or the hopes I have for the future. I record all my ideas into a Dictaphone and anything that I find I keep coming back to, I’ll pursue it a little bit more. Lyrics I find very hard; melody comes easily and obviously I’m limited with my guitar playing but I seem to do ok.
Of all the songs you’ve ever written, which one(s) do you find the most meaningful?
There’s a new song on my album called “Universal Gleam” and I find it pretty honest and meaningful to me. There’s another song on the new album called “Greedy Soul” which has the same impact. It’s nice to get things off your chest.
What do you hope to bring to Beijing with your performance?
I hope to bring the Chinese fans lots of super sounds. We’re going to be playing some of the new album and lots of Oasis stone cold classics.
Can you tell us a bit about your life on the road? Any culture shocks you’ve experienced in Asia so far?
I’ve always enjoyed playing for my brothers and sisters in Asia. I’ve never really been shocked by anything. I go with the flow.
