Blue M&M Nearly Kills Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher has put his constitution to the test with a rock ’n’ roll lifestyle stretching back to his teenage years.

But the Beady Eye star has received his first serious glimpse of the Pearly Gates after a blue M&M sent him crashing into anaphylactic shock last month.

Liam has been diagnosed with the life-threatening nut allergy after suffering a reaction to his favourite sweets while staying in a hotel on tour.

And now the former Oasis man has to carry a special injection with him everywhere he goes in case a rogue nut creeps into his system.

Speaking at the launch of The Red House restaurant in south-west London, he said: “I’ve done some stuff over the years but never, never did I think a f****** blue M&M would be the thing that could have killed me. I was in a hotel on holiday and got in about the mini bar.

“I was bored and hungry, so it’s what you do, man. I’ve always liked M&Ms so I got into them. I had a blue one.

“My mouth started to swell up and I could feel it tightening my throat, man. I had to go to the docs and get it checked out straight away.

“It happened again a couple of weeks after and now I’ve got to carry a syringe about with me in case of emergencies. Proper Pete Doherty gear.”

The singer was out on the town to support his Pretty Green clothing business partner Chris Jonns, who has opened a new top-notch restaurant and bar near the King’s Road. Beady Eye are about to release second album, BE, which he is itching to get out and tour.

Liam was drinking with brother-in-law Liam Howlett from The Prodigy, Hurts’ singer Theo Hutchcraft, rappers Rizzle Kicks and The Libertines hero Carl Barrat.

Liam’s missus Nicole Appleton, her sister Natalie and fellow All Saint Shaznay Lewis were on the lash too.

The night ended in The Box club in Soho in the wee small hours.

Luckily it’s not the kind of venue to leave peanuts out for the punters...

Noel Gallagher Turns Down The Chance To Record With Hurts And Miles Kane

Noel Gallagher has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to work with both Hurts and Miles Kane this year.

The singer-songwriter was approached by both acts to work on their albums but Gallagher says that he declined both opportunities as he doesn't want to be working all of the time. "I don't live my life by the credo of having to work all the time," he told NME. "I got asked to be on some pretty big records but nothing came of it. I was going to be on the Hurts album: they sent me some great fucking songs, but sometimes you've got to phone these people back and say, 'Nothing's fallen out of the sky here, man - it sounds great as it is'. If I can add something, then great, I'll do it but not for the sake of it."

Talking about the decision to say no to Miles Kane, Gallagher was typically honest, saying: "I couldn't be bothered in the end. I was in Singapore. He asked me to work on it and I was in the middle of a tour and couldn't make it work. I'll play with anyone, diary permitting. And when I say diary, I mean Man City football fixtures."

Hurts released their second album 'Exile' earlier this year while Miles Kane's album 'Don't Forget Who You Are' is set to be released in June. Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that Noel Gallagher has been offered £2m to become the next X Factor judge.

Hurts’ Adam Anderson Tells Noel Gallagher And Jake Bugg To Leave One Direction Alone!

Adam Anderson has spoken out in defence of One Direction…surprisingly.

The Hurts star felt compelled to stick up for the X Factor singers, after they came under fire from all sides this month, following their win of the Global Success gong at the Brit Awards.

Jake Bugg branded the band ‘terrible’, Paloma Faith said they do not deserve to be compared to The Beatles, Matthew Fox hates the fact that his daughter is a 1D fan and Noel Gallagher is proud that he and Damon Albarn ignored the boys at the awards ceremony.

Anderson was sitting next to the fab fivesome at The Brits and he told Gigwise that he thinks people need to give them an easier time. He explained:

“I think they seem like decent lads and they’re having fun. If you were 19 and in their position then you would have fun.

“I think they should be left alone really. It’s good for the equilibrium of pop to have boybands.”

Adam thinks it’s a good thing for the UK music industry to have local artists selling well around the globe and after all, One Direction boast the third and fourth best selling albums in the world in 2012.

Anderson added: “At the end of the day they [One Direction] are a big export for music in this country. If One Direction and Adele raise the profile for British acts then fair enough.”

He thinks perhaps Brits organisers could have planned their ceremony better and added some different styled acts to the lineup. He thinks had they done that the event wouldn’t have been branded ‘boring.’

“I think there was an absence of a certain type of band which was the problem, but that’s just timing.

“It is what it is. It was still a good laugh and a good party afterwards. You make your own fun sometimes.”

Hurts Want Noel Gallagher Hook-Up

Hurts have revealed that they would like to collaborate with Noel Gallagher.

The duo, who are currently working on the follow-up to their 2010 debut Happiness, teased that "more guitars" will feature on their new material.

However, when asked who they would most like to collaborate with, singer Theo Hutchcraft named the former Oasis star as their ideal duet.

He told Absolute Radio: "We love Noel. He's one of the only people who has influenced us to write music and we love The Horrors so much. They really influenced our record when we made it."

Speaking about Gallagher receiving the 'Godlike Genius Award' at the NME Awards 2012 last night (February 29), Hutchcraft praised the songwriter for influencing modern bands.

He added: "He's one of the greatest living rock stars and he's a real tribute to Britain. He's still relevant and he's still cool! The bands all here today wouldn't be here without him, so he's important."
