"It's been a great opportunity to have my songs reworked by people whose own work I am a huge fan of...I have found the whole thing hugely inspiring" - Noel Gallagher

Noel asked David Holmes to remix 'The Girl With The X-Ray Eyes' and when he received it back he absolutely loved it... David organised a local school choir to re-sing the vocals. Many thanks to the The St Michael's School Project.

Listen here!

David Holmes explains how the track came about: "When I first heard 'The Girl With The X Ray Eyes' I immediately heard the influence of David Bowie's 'Space Oddity' which made me think of another great version by the Langley School's Project...after listening to the lyrics on repeat for a few hours I thought they had a real picture book sensibility so I called my daughter's primary school choir. The kids rehearsed for 5 days and I stopped by and recorded it in their assembly hall."

Pre-Order And Artwork For Massive Attack's 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Remixes

Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja aka 3D drops two remixes of ‘The Right Stuff’ on his Battle Box label in conjunction with The Vinyl Factory.

Originally released on Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ album Chasing Yesterday earlier this year, ‘The Right Stuff’ has been pulled apart and reassembled by Massive Attack’s 3D and Euan Dickinson for two dark reworks of cinematic intensity.

In 3D’s words, “it was a good opportunity to take a great song, slow it right down, remove the guitars and then scratch the clarinet backwards.”

Speaking of the collaboration, Gallagher also hinted that it’s been a long time coming: “I remember being at The Brits in ’95 and D offering to do a Massive Attack re-mix of ‘Cast No Shadow’. The idea was never followed through and it’s something I’ve regretted ever since. It’s nice to finally scratch the itch somewhat.”

Battle Box 004: High Flying Birds In 3D is pressed to 12″ vinyl with artwork by Paul Insect and is limited to 500 copies. Pre-order your copy direct from The Vinyl Factory online shop here ahead of its release on 31st July.

Noel Gallagher Recruits Massive Attack, Andy Weatherall And More For Remix EP

Noel Gallagher has told Q he might release a remix EP of tracks taken from new album Chasing Yesterday.

The former Oasis man releases his second album Chasing Yesterday on 2 March, and he’s already earmarked several tracks from the record to under go some tinkering.

“Andy Weatherall has done one already, a guy who used to be in the Psychonauts called Pablo who goes under the name of Toy Drum, he’s done one,” Gallagher explained.

“Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve have done something and I’m speaking to Massive Attack. There are a few things going on. There might be a remix EP coming out sooner or later. It’s all up in the air at the moment.”

Q suggested Rudimental might be an option too as when we recently spoke to the band in the studio the quartet said they were keen to get Noel to lend his vocals to a future track.

“Really? That’s amazing! I’m flattered they’ve even heard of me,” explained Gallagher of the offer. “Well give them my office number.”

Noel Gallagher Performs At Kate Moss' Birthday Party

Noel Gallagher sung to Kate Moss at her 40th birthday party.

The former Oasis star was cheered on by a number of guests as he broke into the catchy acoustic of 'Happy Birthday' at 6am yesterday (19.01.14) in celebration of the supermodel's milestone age.

Kate - who kicked off her celebrations with a posh lunch on Thursday (16.01.14) - reportedly spent £30,000 on entertainment for the big bash at her Cotswolds home on Saturday night (18.01.14).

Florence and the Machine, Mark Ronson, Soul II Soul and Massive Attack performed in yurts in the garden, while there were also tarot card readings, fire jugglers and face-painters on hand throughout the Glastonbury-themed party.

The blonde beauty reportedly paid out a hefty £80,000 on spirits and an endless supply of champagne to keep her guests entertainment.

Uma Thurman, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney were just a few of her famous friends in attendance, but all mobile phones were to be handed in at the door to stop any drunken photos being uploaded to Twitter or Instagram.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Everyone knew it was going to be a wicked party, which it was.

''It was truly epic and isn't even over yet... ''

Meanwhile, Kate hired the dining room at a local pub last night (19.01.14) for her and the remaining guests who were still standing after a boozy four days of partying.
