Champagne Supernova is a song by Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher. The seven-minute anthem is the closing track on the record-breaking album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?.

It was released on May 13th 1996 as a single in Australia, a music video directed by Nigel Dick was released to music channels and, as a result, the song received much television and radio airplay.

The song was released in the U.S. as a radio single and enjoyed great success there, becoming the band's second No. 1 single on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. It also peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay, becoming the band's third top 40 single on that chart. The song is considered a fan-favourite and has received widespread critical acclaim.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher says he loves Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini so much he wants to be adopted by him.

Well-known City fan Gallagher was talking before today’s potentially title-winning match against West Ham, in which the Citizens only need a draw to secure their second Premier League triumph.

And Gallagher has clearly taken to Pellegrini in the Chilean’s first season at the Etihad. ‘I’m buzzing for it.

We just need to play our game and we’re there. I feel alright, we’re going to do it. I hope it’s not like two years ago. That was a nightmare but it was good,’ he said.

‘Manuel Pellegrini’s beautiful, I love him. I want him to adopt me.’

Noel Gallagher: Title Win Shows Manchester City's Success Is Not 'A Flash In The Pan'

The former Oasis guitarist was in the stands as Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany netted to seal a second league crown in three years

Noel Gallagher has hailed Manchester City's second Premier League title in three years.

Goals from Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany saw City sweep West Ham aside and seal the league crown.

The former Oasis guitarist was in the stands and has insisted the win proves they are no one hit wonders.

"This shows we're not a flash in a pan, like Blackburn that season and Leeds in the old Division One.

"Samir Nasri's goal was great, this was great and we ran the clock down.

"And I've got Vincent Kompany's captain's armband - I saw him in the tunnel and blagged it off him!"

Former Smiths man Johnny Marr was also on hand and found himself in the thick of the Etihad celebrations.

"It appears that I'm on the pitch with Man City getting the Premier League champions cup and being hugged by Sergio Aguero. So... what's up?," he tweeted.

Liam And Noel Gallagher Watch Manchester City Win The Premiership Title

They are not exactly known for their brotherly love.

But Liam and Noel Gallagher both attended a Manchester City vs West Ham football match at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Sunday.

The former Oasis stars arrived separately to the game, showing that fans perhaps shouldn’t expect any reconciliation soon.

The pair appeared to keep their distance at the game, which saw Manchester win a 2-0 victory over West Ham.

They saw Manchester City crowned Premier League champions for the second time in three years on the final day of a dramatic season.

Liam Gallagher, 41, keeping a low profile in a navy waterproof jacket teamed with dark trousers and blue suede shoes.

Noel, 46, meanwhile wore a crumpled white shirt, a blue bomber jacket and dark jeans.

Oasis split in August 2009 after Liam and his brother Noel had a huge backstage bust-up in Paris, France, but rumours are beginning to circulate that they could be planning to headline at Glastonbury this year.

In April, Liam sparked rumours that Oasis were going to reform with a series of cryptic Twitter posts.

The former frontman has hinted at a reunion after individually tweeting the letters of the band's name every half hour.

The musician was inundated with messages from his fans asking him what his posts meant after he posted the final letter, 'S', on his account.

Liam failed to elaborate on his tweets, but simply followed up with: 'OASIS LG (sic).'

The mysterious posts came just two months after Oasis announced they were re-releasing their debut album Definitely Maybe with previously unheard tracks to celebrate the LP's 20th anniversary on May 19.

Oasis Were Confident Of Fame And Fortune

Britpop band Oasis were always going to make it big, says radio presenter Pete Mitchell in the run up to 'Definitely Maybe' being revamped for its 20th anniversary

One of the greatest British albums of all time ‘Definitely Maybe’, the debut by Oasis released in 1994, is to be reissued to mark its 20th anniversary on the 19th of May. A re-mastered version of the album will be released, which will include rare and unreleased recordings, all presented in a rather impressive deluxe box.

This album is a perfect generational rock record that retains the raw energetic attitude and sound of a band out of the north, who oozed total self-belief.

Oasis were going to make it big no matter what and nobody would have the courage or audacity to stop them.

I knew Noel and Liam in the early days, Noel was a quiet unassuming individual, who worked for the Inspiral Carpets, until he joined Liam's group the Rain. I remember him telling me he had joined the group and was writing and recording with them. When I asked if I could hear something he said “No, you will hear it, when I want you to hear it”.

His total self-belief even back then set him apart. Liam gave me a demo of the group and told me “it is the best thing you will hear this year”. The hyperbole fell short, if my memory serves me well, it sounded a little like U2. I lost one of the two studio copies they had paid for. Noel was working to pay for the studio time. They rehearsed at a venue called the Boardwalk and they played a number of early shows there to less than enthusiastic crowds. They were raw and unpolished, Liam back then lacked the swagger and grit of his future self, but these things needed to gestate.

I was the DJ at one of their small gigs at the venue when they were on the same bill as ‘That Uncertain Feeling’, a local band who were managed by writer and actor Craig Cash of ‘Royle Family’ fame. He had hired extra lighting to show off his band, but Oasis looked more the part swathed in blue and red and Craig's band disappeared.

I know time warps your memory and it’s like looking back through a prism, but they had that certain je ne sais quoi. They were far from the finished article and we both went away thinking about them. Craig would use ‘Half the World Away’ by Oasis, as the theme to the Royle Family, one of the most successful TV shows in decades.

Their rise came as no surprise but how quickly it happened caught most of us off guard. It seemed like no time had elapsed between those early gigs and their triumphant two nighter at their beloved Maine Road - the former ground of premier league winners Manchester City. I was stood with Slade frontman Noddy Holder as the group performed his song ‘C'mon Feel the Noize’, to an ecstatic stadium filled to the brim with grown men holding their plastic pint pots aloft, full of warm lager, arm in arm singing every word. They are one of the few bands who have this extraordinary connection with their audience. It is one love.

No matter what you think about this band, they connected with their football crowd audience like no other, it was undoubtedly rock for the terraces. These days the sibling rivalry and the shenanigans of Liam Gallagher occupy the front pages but if we could turn back the clocks to a time in British music when everything seemed possible, we probably would. There was an air of expectation and energy of positivity. The everyman could wrap his arms around his mate once again and kiss him on the cheek, while lovingly singing Wonderwall at the top of his voice. Just look at the comeback of the Stone Roses for instance and you can imagine the eventual return of Oasis. It will be like nothing you have witnessed before.

We all knew where we stood, who we listened to and what we were all about. Oasis were the band of the hard man, the working class kid, they were the group from the streets who knew their audience like no other. Oasis gave them a voice and a sense of belonging. They were more than music.

The rallying call has changed but the attitude has not as Liam Gallagher has called on fans to boycott the 20th anniversary reissue of one of the best albums of all time. He took to twitter stating “how can you re-master something that's already been mastered. Don't buy it. Let it be”. He has a point, it was a moment in time that will never be replicated and the album will go down in history as one of the defining records of the nineties.

Liam finished off his comical rant with “the Oasis years. They forgot to mention that Bonehead used to stick fig rolls up his arse. Ha ha X”.

Do we really need to know what went on behind closed doors? Of course we do!

Definitely Maybe – The Oasis Exhibition

In a five year journey, which began in 1993 with a photo shoot at Manchester's Out of the Blue Studios, Michael Spencer Jones worked closely with Oasis, becoming their official photographer and creating a series of truly iconic images which adorned their first 3 albums and their accompanying singles - imagery which helped to define a musical era.

In the 20th anniversary year of Oasis' timeless debut album Definitely Maybe, the Royal Albert Hall presents a London exclusive of images from Michael's huge and mainly unpublished archive of over 8,000 shots.

Many of the photographs included in the exhibition have never been seen in public before.  Having last welcomed Oasis to the Hall in 2002, we are very excited to present these photographs as part of an iconic and celebratory exhibition.

The exhibition can be viewed when attending performances or on the following free open days:
Saturday 28 June 10am - 4pm
Sunday 29 June 10am - 4pm

Q&A with Michael Spencer Jones.

In addition to the free public open days, the Royal Albert Hall has teamed up with Q Magazine to present a very special Q&A with photographer Michael Spencer Jones, which will take place in the Hall's Berry Bros. and Rudd No.3 Bar on Monday 16 June.

Audio: Noel Gallagher Calls Luis Suarez A ‘Blatant’ Cheat

Noel Gallagher has branded Luis Suarez a ‘blatant’ cheat and admitted he was happy to see the Uruguayan crying following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Reds threw away a three-goal lead against the Eagles, as their Premier League title challenge crumbled at Selhurst Park.

After the match captain Steven Gerrard and Suarez, who was named FWA Footballer of the Year earlier in the day, were seen with tears in their eyes.

Liverpool's failure to win leaves Manchester City firmly in control of the title race and former Oasis star Gallagher, an ardent fan of the Citizens, said he was over the moon with the result.

“It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end,” he told the Sports Bar. “I like that. He’s a blatant cheat. How on earth he was awarded the FWA Footballer of the Year Award I’ll never know.

“He’s a disgrace. It was lovely seeing Suarez and Steven Gerrard crying.”

Noel Gallagher Taunts Suarez Over Tears As Liverpool Collapse Gifts Manchester City Title Advantage

The Reds left Crystal Palace with just one point and saw their Premier League championship ambitions take a huge dent, much to the delight of the famous City fan

Manchester City fan and former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was quick to taunt Liverpool after their 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace gave his side a huge boost in the title race.

The Reds led by three goals at Selhurst Park but relinquished their lead in a frantic final 15 minutes, leaving Manuel Pellegrini's side trailing the Merseyside club by a point but with two games in hand.

Gallagher voiced his disapproval of Luis Suarez, who was in tears after the dramatic cdraw shortly after the game.

"It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end because he is a blatant cheat," Gallagher said to talkSPORT. "It was an endearing image, Gerrard too.

"I can't believe he [Suarez] won the Football Writers' Award. They went 3-0 and got caught up in the emotion.

"Nobody wins by six or seven in the Premier League - unless you're playing Tottenham or Arsenal."

Bonehead On Oasis Reunion "I'd Do It For Nothing"

Oasis guitarist Paul 'bonehead' Arthurs would agree to reuniting the band without a second thought - and he'd happily hit the stage for free.

Rumours of the Wonderwall hitmakers reforming surfaced once again last month (Apr14) when singer Liam Gallagher shared the band's name one letter at a time on his Twitter.com page, prior to a pub meeting with his former guitarist.

Several British bookmakers quickly suspended betting on the band appearing at the Glastonbury festival in June (14), but event bosses have denied the group was ever in the running to appear.

The guitarist has now made his support for a possible reunion gig clear, but insists he has no idea if it will ever happen, telling British radio station Xfm, "I'd be there like a shot and I'd do it for nothing... I don't know (if it will ever happen)! Don't ask me! Who knows, stranger things have happened. But I don't know. You're asking the wrong person for that."

Following the rumours of an Oasis reunion songwriter Noel Gallagher joked that he would agree to regroup in exchange for half a billion condoms or teabags.

The group split in 2009 after estranged brothers Noel and Liam fell out on tour. This year (14) marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the band's groundbreaking debut album Definitely Maybe.

Arthurs left the band in 1999, during the recording of Oasis' fourth album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. He was replaced by Gem Archer, who went on to form Beady Eye with Liam Gallagher.
