Liam Gallagher On Why He Never Uses Public Transport

Liam Gallagher never takes public transport because he hates having to get too close to other people.

He told Q magazine: “I haven’t been on it for years. I’ve got legs, you know what I mean? F**k Tubes. Not into it. All those people sweating and breathing on you – no thanks. Our kid does it. He even did a photoshoot down there to let people know he’s a man of the f***ing people.” And Liam also confessed to finding hot weather stressful.

Discussing his last holiday, he said: “The Maldives. Beautiful. I get stressed out in the heat, but if there’s a pool with a bar, I’m sweet. I can lie there all day like George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley in the ‘Club Tropicana’ video.”

Liam Gallagher “I Never Had Any Problem With Blur”

Despite their infamous Britpop rivalry, Liam Gallagher has said that he ‘never had a problem’ with Blur – and added that they’re ‘madder than Oasis these days’.

In a new interview, Gallagher shared a fond memory of a recent run-in with Blur bassist Alex James.
“I saw one of them the other night at some awards do,” Gallagher told Q Magazine. “What’s the bass player called? Alex. He had a pair of shorts on. I think it was the first day back at school. They’re madder than us these days. He was completely off his fucking box.”

Noel Gallagher too has appeared to bury the hatchet with Blur in recent years. Not only have he and Albarn performed together on a number of occasions, but Noel lends guest vocals on Gorillaz‘s new song ‘We Got The Power’ with Savages‘ Jehnny Beth. Now, Liam has downplayed their Britpop feud – but declared that he’s still quite far away from a Gorillaz guest spot.

“I never had any problem with Blur,” he continued. “The rivalry was all a bit of a laugh for me. But you still wouldn’t catch me doing backing vocals for Damon Albarn.”

Liam Gallagher Trolls Manchester United Fans In The Best Way Ever

The former Oasis frontman - and Manchester City supporter - has made sure that blue is the colour for Utd fans this week.

Liam Gallagher is not a man known for subtlety.

So when the Manchester City fan was looking for somewhere to hang the massive blue billboard poster to promote his upcoming album, there was only one place - opposite Old Trafford.

The former Oasis frontman has made sure that fans of his team's bitter rivals, Manchester Utd , can't escape the feeling that blue is the colour if they head to this weekend's home game against Crystal Palace.

Liam also signed the poster off in his usual Twitter style - 'LG X'.

Liam's first solo album - As You Were - comes out on October 6 and the Burnage rocker is also set to play a sold-out date at Manchester Arena on December 16.

The huge poster will stay in place on Victoria Warehouse for the rest of the week. Unless Utd fans take matters into their own hands...

Noel Gallagher Says Music Was Much ‘Freer’ In The ’90s

Noel Gallagher has said that life and music was much ‘freer’ in the ’90s – and that today’s bands need to be a lot more ‘business-minded’.

Yesterday saw Gallagher announce his return with his upcoming new High Flying Birds Album ‘Who Built The Moon?’, along with details of a huge UK and Ireland arena tour. During an interview with Christian O’Connell on the Absolute Radio Breakfast Show, he discussed how the music industry and the general climate for bands has changed since the Britpop heyday when Oasis were at their peak.

“If you’re 20, and you’re entering the music business now, you won’t know what’s gone before,” said Gallagher. “So for a 20 year old you won’t realise, but the ‘90’s, it’s only now people are starting to realise what a fantastic decade that was, for all sorts of things, for politics, fashion, music, sport.

“There’s lots of stuff that’s stood the test of time, Trainspotting as you mentioned for one, and all those great bands, Oasis, Verve, Pulp, all that mob. It was a lot freer then for sure. When I meet younger bands they seem to have more of a career head on. Whereas back in the ‘90’s it was just you were kind of winging it and having a laugh.”

He added: “I think, but that comes from the people who run the music business I think. The success, and how many hits you’ve got on YouTube and this that and the other, and it’s a different game, it’s a different game for sure.”

In the same interview, Noel Gallagher discussed another big night he had out with Morrissey – who described as a ‘dude’ who took a shine to his wife. He also discussed the extent of his drunken antics (and painful hangovers) while recently on tour with U2.

Gallagher will release his third solo album ‘Who Built The Moon?’ on Friday November 24, before a huge arena tour follows next year.
