Noel Gallagher To Write The Theme Tune For James Bond 25

James Bond 25 is still two years away but speculation on who will record its theme song is already well under way.

Following speculation covering the likes of Adele, Beyonce and even little-known bands, now Noel Gallagher’s name has re-entered the conversation.

The former Oasis star has always been open about wanting to record a track for the spy movie franchise, and now it seems he’s inching closer to his goal.

It seems working with film score producer David Holmes on his latest album has refreshed his inspiration, according to The Sun.

“Noel has wanted to do this for a while, and once he started working with David he saw it as the perfect opportunity to use his experience to finish some ideas he had already,” a source claimed.

“He’s going to put his music forward for sure to be considered.”

It had previously been reported that Gallagher had teamed up with Paul Weller to pen a potential ditty for the movie.

“I want to write a James Bond theme tune,” Weller told the BBC earlier this year.

“I’ve got this half a song that me and Noel Gallagher worked on and I think it would be great for a Bond theme. There’s a bit of minor key going on.

“That would be an ambition definitely.”

The 25th Bond movie, currently untitled, will be Daniel Craig’s last.

It’s confirmed for release in November 2019 in the US, with a UK rollout expected slightly earlier.

Liam Gallagher Says He’ll ‘Take Every Drug On the Planet’ When He’s Old

Liam Gallagher reveals his typically Liam Gallagher response to getting old in a new episode of the BBC’s music show Backstage Pass.

When asked if he’s worried about the future, the Liam reveals his plans to ‘take hardcore hallucinogenics’ and ‘trip my bollocks off until I die’.

Of course he is.

The 12-minute episode follows the former Oasis star as he gears up to perform in Paris, right up until the moment he takes to the stage with his band.

So what is Backstage Pass?

The BBC iPlayer show centres on a different artist each time as they get ready for a live performance. Previous artists who have featured are Kasabian and Olly Murs

What’s Liam Gallagher’s episode about?

Filmed earlier this year, cameras capture Liam as he hangs out with his friends and family and chats to press before performing at Lollapalooza in Paris, the first ever Lollapalooza to be held in the city.

What are the highlights?

Along the way he’s quizzed about fashion, his upcoming solo album As You Were and what his feelings are about aging.

Answering the latter, he says: ‘I can’t wait until I’m about 80. I’m gonna take hardcore hallucinogenics, I’m gonna drink loads of f*****g alcohol, and get into every drug on the planet, and then I’m just gonna sit there in a waistcoat, and in a pair of mad f*****g trousers with a pair of cowboy boots on, a f*****g perm, and I’m just gonna f*****g dribble myself to death and not have to worry about f**k all. F*****g trip my bollocks off until I die. I can’t wait.’

He also reveals the most touristy thing he’s done in Paris is ‘have a Le Big Mac with mayonnaise and French fries’.

Any snark about his beloved brother Noel?

Of course. This is Liam Gallagher we’re talking about. One great moment comes when he’s talking to press, and a journalist asks him why he’s surrounded by cameras.

Explaining that he’s filming for the BBC, Liam quips: ‘I don’t usually travel with loads of people, I’m not Beyoncé… or Noel Gallagher.’

Anything else?

LG is who he is and he’s never going to change, which makes for a really entertaining episode. You could easily watch an hour of him moaning about the death of rock ‘n’ roll.
I’m sold. When can I watch it?

Backstage Pass: Liam Gallagher arrives on BBC iPlayer on September 8.

Chris Martin On Oasis And Working With Noel Gallagher

Coldplay‘s Chris Martin is in awe over Beyonce and Noel Gallagher, both of whom made contributions to the British band’s forthcoming album, A Head Full of Dreams, set for release December 4. In an interview with Kevin & Bean this morning, Martin explained this is the first time the group has collaborated with famous musicians on one of their albums.

“Some of the record is about trying to make dreams come true, and humans’ ability to fix things by coming up with new ideas. And one of our dreams was to have Noel play on something because we used to love Oasis so much.” According to Martin, Gallagher doesn’t sing, but he does offer “a big guitar solo.”

When asked what went wrong with Oasis, Martin paused. “I love Oasis. I think it’s dangerous when you change the lineup of something; the magic… it always comes out different.”

“I feel bad for for them,” interjected Bean, “because they’re both very talented and I feel like Oasis was something that was so special that they can’t get out from under it. No matter how great Noel’s records are now, all anybody wants to ask him is ‘When is Oasis getting back together?'”

“I’ll give you my serious answer if you really want it,” offered Martin. “I think a band by its very nature is only as good as the chemistry between the players. None of us in rock bands, or whatever kind of bands we’re in, are virtuosos, otherwise we’d be concert pianists. So the only thing you have in your favor as a band is your unique chemistry. And if you’re lucky enough to have a great songwriter like Noel then those songs get fed into this weird arrangement of people. I feel like the great bands respect that chemistry.”

Out on 4 December, the band’s seventh album features a new disco-orientated direction in the form of single Adventure of a Lifetime.

Coldplay have announced the release of their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams. Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton are among the vocalists appearing across its 11 tracks.

Though it won’t be released until Friday 4 December, fans can hear a taster of the new direction in the form of the disco-pop love song Adventure of a Lifetime, which is available to download and stream now.

Following the release of Ghost Stories, the band chose not to tour and instead returned to the studio to record A Head Full of Dreams. According to a statement, the album is “bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments”. They plan to take it on a world tour.

Noel Gallagher Says Beyoncé, Rihanna And Madonna Have Nothing Of Interest To Say

Gobby Noel Gallagher claims singers such as Beyoncé, Rihanna and Madonna have nothing of interest to say.

The ex-Oasis star no longer buys music mags or reads interviews with musicians.

He said: “Ninety nine per cent of artists having nothing interesting to say. I don’t give a s*** what they have to say.

“If Morrissey is on the cover of a mag I will buy it as he has something to say – or Kanye West, because he is funny.”

Noel also claims no interviewer has ever asked him a decent question.

He said: “If I could interview myself I’d ask me: ‘Why am I so f***ing brilliant at what I do?’”

The singer-songwriter, 48, also dismissed rumours that he will reform Oasis with his estranged brother Liam, 42.

He said: “We don’t talk. He is not a nice person. For me it’s not worth getting back together. What would it take for us to reform? A hell of a lot of money.”

Outspoken Noel hasn’t been playing Oasis’s biggest hit Wonderwall on his current tour. But he claims he still likes the song, which he penned back in 1995.

He said: “I just don’t feel like playing it. I have no problem playing Oasis songs because – after all – I wrote them.”

But in a blast at Liam, who used to perform the track with his band Beady Eye, Noel said: “If I were Mick Jagger and I performed songs on stage on my own that I’d written together with Keith Richards then I’d feel a fraud.”

Asked if he thought Oasis fans should listen to his new music, he said: “No. I would never tell people to listen to my music. I don’t give a s*** what you’re listening to.”

Noel Gallagher On Oasis, Liam, Blur, Mick Jagger, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian And More

Noel Gallagher is putting his past behind him, releasing a new solo album, ruling out a reunion with his brother Liam and even being nice about one-time arch-rivals Blur.

Oasis split five years ago after nearly two decades of fractious sibling rivalry between guitarist Noel and his younger brother Liam, the band’s frontman.

“I haven’t seen him for about five months but we text quite a lot. It’s usually him insulting me,” laughs Gallagher, during an interview with AFP in London.

Liam’s post-Oasis band Beady Eye recently broke up as well but he is quick to dismiss any suggestion of a reunion with his 42-year-old brother. “The answer is no,” he says.

His new album “Chasing Yesterday”, his second since the band split, is released on March 2 and features his signature combination of layered guitars and elliptical lyrics.

The star is full of enthusiasm for the life of a solo artist, perhaps recalling the arguments and dramas which accompanied Oasis’s global success, selling 60 million albums and scoring hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.

“It’s more rewarding, it’s more fulfilling. I like being in charge of everything,” he says. “I just write songs and I collect the songs together and I make an album out of them.”

Best singers are ‘wild animals’

Gallagher is now a 47-year-old family man with three children who is more likely to be found watching his beloved Manchester City than indulging a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle.

His legendary bile towards musicians whose work he does not rate has not diminished with age.

“Beyonce, not for me. My wife loves her but she’s got no taste. Katy Perry? Even my daughter hates her and she’s 15. Sam Smith? Not for me,” he says.

“Traditional rock stars are like wild animals Mick Jagger or my brother,” he adds.

“They don’t give a fuck. Modern rock stars, Alex Turner (of Arctic Monkeys) or Serge from Kasabian, they do give a fuck, they care about their hair style, they care about what they think.”

He is more forgiving towards Oasis’s old Britpop rivals Blur, who this month announced their first new album in 12 years, “The Magic Whip”.

“I think it will probably be very good if it in any way represents what Damon (Albarn, Blur’s frontman) has been doing recently,” Gallagher says.

“Old groups are great but what really lets old groups down, they don’t fucking write good songs any more.”

He does not even rule out working with Albarn in future.

“I would like to. We’re both gonna be busy boys for the next couple of years. But you never know,” he says.

For their new album Be, Beady Eye have confidently claimed that they've finally hit their stride.

Teaming up with producer Dave Sitek for the record, the band recently explained they've discovered a "newfound focus" that allowed them to get "our s**t together", adding: "It feels like a really special record for us."

Ahead of the record's release on June 10, Digital Spy teamed up with Music Unlimited to find out more about the LP, their plans to compete with Beyoncé at this year's V Festival, and who would play them in Beady Eye: The Movie.

Noel Gallagher keeps his favourite trainers as sharp as his tunes.

The 45-year-old has donated a pair to shoe site javari.co.uk’s trainer exhibition at London’s Covent Garden Piazza, running until Sunday.

Noel said: “I tend not to wear my favourite trainers.

“I know it’s nerdy but I tend to just look at them now and again then stick ’em back in the box, then they’re always brand new aren’t they?”

Bless him.

Beyoncé, 31, Jay-Z, 42, and Mo Farah, 29, have also donated footwear.

Trainers Owned By Liam And Noel Gallagher To Go On Display In London

The trainer has been worn by hundreds of icons from the sporting elite, such as Mo Farah and Michael Jordan, to pop's finest, including The Spice Girls and Beyonce. Not just a simple exercise shoe, they can have hidden heels such as the Isabel Marant trainers Beyoncé wore in her Love On Top video or be a towering platorm, such as Jeffrey Campbell's rainbow coloured trainers. As we predicted this week they might well be the new heels as Rihanna was spotted wearing Nike Air Jordans with her bodycon dress and Chanel bag.

To celebrate the trainer Javari.co.uk has an exhibition 'Sneaking Into Fashion' from the 18-28 October in Covent Garden Piazza where they will have on display iconic pairs including the private collections from Brit pop Noel and Liam Gallagher and vintage Gucci 1980s tennis shoes. They also have Mo Farah's winning shoes from London 2012 and a pair of Vivienne Westwood trainers from her collaboration with The Sex Pistols manager Malcolm Maclaran.

Look out for the pair of Kanye West Yeezys bought at auction for a staggering $90,000. Yep, you heard us right, $90,000 for a pair of trainers.
