Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins has said that he would love the chance to play drums in Liam Gallagher's band and write a song with him.

Asked if he'd like to join Liam's live band Taylor told Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1: "Absolutely. He hasn't asked. He loves 'Range Rover Bitch' - that's so amazing! I'd like to write a song with him. If he likes 'Range Rover Bitch' man. I've already told him that, he knows. He's such a character."

He said: "I think for him, having the new band Beady Eye was just confusing to people and now he can be Liam Gallagher which means he can play all the Oasis songs he wants and he can play his new album, which is really the best music he's made since Oasis.

"I heard a few Beady Eye things and it was good but he knows he needs to write songs with other people.

"I'm stoked for him.

"And when he's on man, he's on! That's what I love about him, he's such a temperamental performer."

Liam Gallagher On The Funniest Thing To Happen To Him In 2017

Liam Gallagher has been asked by the current issue of Q what was the funniest thing to happen to him in 2017.

He said "There was this bloke on Hampstead Heath who dropped his trousers and showed me his John Lennon tattoo. But the crowd surfing was pretty funny. It's not all it's cracked up to be but it was good to get among the people. There were a couple of (Foo Fans) down the front that were booing me, so I thought I'd just crowd-surf to fart on all their heads. Cop that you cunt! Then other people were cheering so I'd fart on their heads too. Have that cunt! It was good revenge".

Liam Gallagher has spoken to the new issue of Q and was asked how he celebrated his debut album 'As You Were' getting to number one on the UK album chart with over 1000,000 sales.

He said "I didn't mate. Today is the first time I've been out since I heard about it. I hadn't even left the house. I thought I'd save myself for you lot. I've been recovering from my trip to LA, where I went crowd surfing. I'd had a drink and that, and I thought we were going to sing 'I Am The Walrus', I forgot the words and jumped into the crowd. People were pinching my arse really hard so I was getting over that."

Noel Gallagher: "Who Wants To Sing About The News?"

Noel Gallagher criticized Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme in a press conference in Italy yesterday.

“I think that it’s very easy for guys with guitars to pick up those guitars these days and just sing about what’s on the news. I don’t know what the point of all of that is. I think to write songs in this day and age that are full of joy and hope, is almost revolutionary.

I think that guitar music has become more about fucking shouting, like Dave Grohl, what’s he on about? Green Day, and the guy from Queens of the Stone Age, what are they shouting about? They’re shouting about the fucking news. Who wants to sing about the news?

The news is boring. Donald Trump is fucking boring. Politics is boring. The little fat guy from North Korea, he looks funny, but he’s fucking boring. So why would you want to write music about that [stuff]? I think to write songs about joy and hope is fucking revolutionary. There, I just said it, revolutionary.”

Liam Gallagher Isn't Impressed With British Guitar Music At This Moment In Time

He isn't impressed with British guitar music at this moment in time

Liam Gallagher has said English bands “should be ashamed of the shit they put out” in a new interview.

The legendary musician recently returned to making music and is set to release his debut solo album ‘As You Were‘ in October.

Speaking to Noisey, Gallagher said there are “too many so-called rock’n’roll bands in England getting away with fucking murder.”

“They should be ashamed of the shit they put out,” he said. “They need fucking shooting.” While he declined to name any one band specifically, he did expand on what he found so bad about some groups’ output.

“They’ve got the tools to make guitar music great and they’re just fucking doing it half-arsed,” he said. “They’ve got one foot in the fucking dance world and one foot in the fucking guitar world and they’re just seeing which one fucking bites.”

He continued: “They’re there with their fucking keyboards and whistles and shit. If you’re going to do “guitar music” you have to put a fucking guitar on a record. Put the fucker in. Stop wearing it like it’s a fucking necklace.”

Meanwhile, Gallagher has also given his opinion on several music icons.

During an interview with GQ, Liam is asked about his thoughts on The Rolling Stones‘ frontman Mick Jagger. His verdict: “Fair play to ol’ dinosaur hips, but I’m not that man. I’m anti-entertainment. Poor sod, he’s got to dance until he’s 108.”

On Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl’s infamous throne that he performed live in when he broke his leg, Liam says: “He ruined it for all of us. He broke his leg and still toured. Who does that? Now if I have a ‘cold’ I can’t cancel because I’ll look like a wuss.”

Liam Gallagher On Being Asked To Play With The Foo Fighters At Glastonbury

Liam Gallagher said to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe in a recent interview that Dave Grohl had extended an invite to join them during their performance at Glastonbury. “He asked me to come on and do a song,” Gallagher said. “I said no, cos I need a bit of rehearsal. I know it’s cool and all that, but I need a rehearsal.”

He is due to play CalJam festival in San Bernadino, California on October 7. The one-day event was organised by Foo Fighters and will be headlined by the band.

Asked by Lowe if he might do something with the group there, he replied: “I tell you what I wanna do. I wanna do ‘Range Rover Bitch’ that Taylor [Hawkins, drummer] made. That’s the tune.”

Liam Gallagher Is Looking Forward To Playing For ‘Mental’ Korean Fans

It has been 26 years since the world was introduced to Liam Gallagher and his brother Noel -- a pair of “s---heads,” according to the singer’s own words -- but the 44-year-old singer has never let up, now leading a solo career in his post-Oasis and Beady Eye years.

“I’ve been doing this for more than 25 years, I don’t think I’ve got anything more to ‘prove,’” said Liam Gallagher, when asked what keeps him going, in a joint interview with Korean media. “I just want to keep making music. I still believe I’m one of the greatest rock ’n’ roll singers on the planet. So I just want to sing. I can’t do anything else.”

Gallagher will visit Korea on Aug. 22 for his first concert in the country as a solo artist, accompanied by the legendary rock band Foo Fighters.

In the concert, titled “Live Forever Young,” the former Oasis front man will perform hits by Oasis along with songs from his solo album “As You Were.”

Marking his first return in five years, Gallagher expressed his excitement in meeting the Korean fans he described as “mental.”

While he said he liked Japanese fans’ “chill and nice” demeanor, he said he liked the Korean fans for being “more punk and more crazy.”

Gallagher is coming off a surprise appearance at the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert, held in response to the May terrorist bombing at an Ariana Grande concert that left nearly two dozen dead.

While the schedule originally would have made it impossible for him to perform, Gallagher insisted on finishing his earlier gig in Germany to show support.

“It was a no-brainer. I wanted to be there because it’s my hometown and I wanted to show that I support them. Put a few smiles on people,” he said. “It’s terrible. We are all living in a strange, horrible world. But you got to just keep going about your business.”

Playing in Manchester has always had a special place in Gallagher’s heart, as his favorite gig remains playing at Maine Road where he used to watch the Manchester City soccer team as a young fan.

From a soccer-loving little kid in Manchester to a rock legend, music has shaped Gallagher’s life.

“It (music) means everything. It saved me from being ... God knows where. It gave me a great life. It gave me a reason to wake up in the morning,” he said.

When asked to describe his dream band, Gallagher said it would have Keith Moon on drums, John Entwistle on the bass and Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards on lead and rhythm guitars, respectively. While he said he wanted to sing on this “Odd Squad,” Gallagher said he did not mind taking the back seat to Steve Jones from Sex Pistols.

Gearing up for the Seoul concert, he advised Korean fans to just enjoy themselves.

“Stay cool, stay safe, come out and let’s have lots of fun,” he said.

The event will be held on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at Jamsil Olympic Stadium in southern Seoul.

Dave Grohl On Bumping Into Liam Gallagher At Glastonbury

Dave Grohl has revealed that his “favourite moment” from this year’s Glastonbury festival was an encounter backstage with Liam Gallagher.

Foo Fighters appear on the cover of this week’s free NME, which is available digitally and nationwide from today (June 30). Subscribe now and find out where to pick up a copy here.

Last weekend (June 24) saw Grohl’s band headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, two years after they were originally forced to cancel after the singer broke his leg.

Admitting that he didn’t “realise the immensity of headlining this festival” two years ago, Grohl has now told NME that he finally ‘gets’ Glastonbury and that it felt “like I’m at my mother’s Christmas party back in Virginia”.

“You know my favourite moment of the whole night?” Grohl continued, adding: “Five minutes before we go onstage, Liam fuckin’ Gallagher wanders in. He goes straight over to Taylor and says, ‘That fuckin’ song – ‘Range Rover Bitch’!’ Then he starts singing a song from Taylor’s solo record. Then he turns round to me and goes, ‘And your shit’s alright, too!’ Taylor had nerves about tonight because everyone made such a big deal about this show, but he walked onstage with the biggest fucking smile…”

Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins Praises Liam Gallagher

Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins has spoken out in praise of Liam Gallagher – hailing him as a ‘fucking good rock singer’ and remembering ‘great nights out’ together.

The drummer, who just released his new mini solo album ‘KOTA‘, was talking to NME about the inspiration to work on music away from the Foos, when he opened up about his admiration for the former Beady Eye and Oasis man – and even compared him to Freddie Mercury.

“I’ll tell you something about Liam Gallagher,” Hawkins told NME. “That guy is such a fucking good rock good singer. When people talk about Freddie Mercury, they’re like ‘Oh my god, he’s so outrageous’ – a lot of people just skip past the actual thing of what it is that made them great. I watched that Oasis documentary [Supersonic] the other day, and there’s this part were he just sings ‘Champagne Supernova’ in one take in its entirety, and you just go ‘oh fuck’, you know, the reason we all liked him in the first place is because he’s a fucking good singer. He can fucking sing a rock ‘n’ roll song dude.”

Hawkins continued: “I hope him and his brother can get his shit together. I mean come on boys, everyone wants to see Oasis again, give us a break – come on!”

When asked about how long he’d known the Gallaghers and the Foos history of playing live with Oasis, Hawkins replied: “Oh yeah I’ve known those cats off and on. I was playing shows when I was drummer for Alanis Morissette for all these Christmas festivals, so the Foo Fighters were doing it before I was in the band, Jane’s Addiction, and Oasis. It was right when that album ‘What’s The Story? (Morning Glory)’ came out. We’d be in England and  every single car was either playing Blur or Oasis.”

He went on: It was such a fun time, 1995-96, it was amazing. I remember their bus would pull up, outside of Ohio or New Jersey or something like that, and watching those two guys smacking each other, not even out of the bus. We’re going ‘ oh my god, there they are the real deal’. They look amazing and they’re beating the crap out of each other and I can’t even understand a word they are saying. I had a couple of great nights with them Liam back in the day, back in the 90s.

“Every time I see him I get a big hug. I love him. I think he’s one of the great frontmen over the last 20 years, no question. As far as a guy who can hold a microphone and sing, and really not do much of anything. He can move, one little sway, his hair’s always impeccable and he’s always got the best sweatshirt you’ve ever seen in your life.”

Another Review: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 'Chasing Yesterday'

Noel Gallagher, the ever-talented (although often mouthy) Oasis co-conspirator, returns to the world in a few weeks with his 2nd solo album Chasing Yesterday from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. We won’t lie, this one has been at the top of our radar since it was announced last year… especially since the “only ok” release from Foo Fighters last Fall.

So, how is it? I’m still trying to figure out exactly how to write a review about something that’s this good.

The 2011 self-titled Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was nearly flawless, and came out of the gate with a strut and a wry smile, saying “…Oasis who?” Sort of like the attitude you’d have when you walk into your local bar and everyone knows you. Here, Chasing Yesterday walks into that same bar… but now you own the joint.

Noels’ new record sails through at an even pace, like a convertible cruising down a desert highway at about 80 miles per hour. It never quite gives you an adrenaline rush, but it has no interest in slowing down either. Tracks like the gritty/driving “The Mexican” demonstrate this, as it jams the crunchy guitar and cowbell until you bob your head so much it falls off.

“The Dying of the Light” is one of the most striking songs I’ve ever heard from Gallagher, Oasis included. It’s a little haunting, a little atmospheric, with melodies falling perfectly into place as they start stacking and congealing.

A new addition to the sound is the placement of a few smooth saxophone solos, which are set to some 1970’s psychadelic jams in “The Right Stuff” and “Riverman”. Other tracks are filled with guitar solos, interesting tones, instantly-recognizeable melodies, and prominent groovy beats.

If you’re looking for some of that early Oasis-y rock sound, you’ll find it in the fist-pumping “Lock all the Doors”, which definitely maybe harkens back to the familiar sound of 1994’s Definitely Maybe.

It seems that Noel Gallagher has reached a point in his songwriting career where he can just crank out tunes at a level that most artists never quite achieve. Obviously, you need to enjoy (or at least tolerate) the Brit-Alternative genre in order to appreciate his work, but this new collection is full of really well-written songs. It might take a few more listens to evaluate properly, but Gallagher may have just outdone himself. In the few years he has been solo, he certainly has outdone much of the Oasis body of work.

I’m giving Chasing Yesterday a rating of 9.5. I’d love to give it a perfect 10, but that would imply that it’s a perfect album… and no, perfect albums do not exist.

But if this isn’t a perfect album (by my own logic above), I’m still having a hell of a time finding the flaws.

Rating: 9.5/10

Tracks to check out: “In the Heat of the Moment”, “The Dying of the Light”, “The Mexican”
