Last year we raised over £80,000 for Radio X’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise with some beautiful guitars, signed by the likes of Muse, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Kelly Jones, Robert Smith of The Cure and John Squire of The Stone Roses.

This year, we want to raise even more money to support small but brilliant projects across the UK which help youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

We have FOUR MORE beautiful guitars, each one signed by a genuine musical legend: Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft and Serge Pizzorno...

Ride, Bastille and Duran Duran will play intimate shows to benefit the international charity in the tenth year of its fundraising Passport:Back To The Bars shows.

Acts like The Cure, Amy Winehouse and Elbow have played War Child's Passport:Back To The Bars shows in the past, and now the first acts of the 2015 line-up have been announced.

Andy Bell and Mark Gardener from reunited shoegaze band Ride will play an acoustic set for a small group of fans, in the run-up to the group's sold-out series of shows in the summer.

Bastille have also been confirmed for the bill, while 1980s popstars Duran Duran will also do a show in the capital in aid of the charity.

The shows will take place in Manchester and London, in small venues of no more than 300 people. Further acts and details will be announced early in January.

Duran Duran’s John Taylor said: “Thousands of children...are often being denied education and other basic human rights. We are looking forward to performing an exclusive event in London this coming February, in support of War Child and the important work they do in the regions where these children are suffering."

Noel Gallagher's Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere (Vol.2) Part Sixty Three

From Noel Gallagher's 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere' tour diary.

Yes comrades. . .

Festival season is upon us. Non-stop now. Flying here, there and everywhere.

You currently find me in the great city of Moscow. Did a festival last night with that band The Cure and a load of other bands no-one's ever heard of (Everything Is Made In China?? Nope me neither!!). Had a pretty good one. Not sure the Cure fans down the front enjoyed it though. They did look a bit miserable it has to be said. I enjoyed it anyway so fuck 'em!! Seemed to be more police there than punters.

Legged it early to watch the England-France game. Not bad. Not great but not bad. Off to the Ukraine today . . . Kiev to be exact. Never been out that far. Gonna be hot, hot, hot by all accounts!!

Enjoy the rain back home suckers!!!!!

ONWARDS.

GD.

Reading/Leeds Organiser Hoping For Oasis Reunion

Reading/Leeds organiser Melvin Benn has said he wants Oasis to reunite at some point in the future, but hopes the decision isn’t made too soon.

“Hopefully there will come a day when Oasis do reunite but I hope it doesn’t come too soon,” Benn told NME. “Oasis were just one of those bands where you walked away feeling happy. It was very rare you could go and watch Oasis and not have a great time. Whether we wait until 2015, 2020 or 2040 I don’t know, but it’d be nice if it happened at some point.”

However, Benn was less enthusiastic about the prospect of Oasis’ fellow Manchester leading lights The Smiths reforming, stating his belief that it would ‘destroy their legacy’.

“I think if The Smiths reformed it would destroy their legacy personally,” he added. “I’m sure grown men would cry if it happened but I wouldn’t want to see them reforming.”

Benn’s Reading/Leeds twin festivals will this year be headlined by the Foo Fighters, Kasabian and The Cure.

The NME Want Your Questions For Noel Gallagher!

Ever wanted to ask the ex-Oasis man something?

We're going to be hooking up with 2012 Godlike Genius Noel Gallagher soon for a quizzing session – and we want your questions for him.

The most interesting, probing, thought-provoking and funny questions will be put to the former Oasis man and we'll then print the results in a future edition of NME magazine. So leave your questions in the comments box below – and remember to include your name, age and location too or we won't be able to use it.

Noel Gallagher will be presented with the Godlike Genius Award at this year's NME Awards. The guitarist will pick up the gong at the ceremony on February 29 at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

Previous recipients of the award include last year's winner Dave Grohl, The Clash, Paul Weller, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, New Order and Joy Division.

A special collectors' issue dedicated to Noel Gallagher is coming next month. Produced by the teams behind NME and sister title Uncut, the magazine will feature Gallagher's greatest interviews, unseen photos and a competition to win albums signed by the man himself. The issue will be available on newsstands and digitally from February 2.

Noel Gallagher To Be Crowned Godlike Genius At NME Awards 2012

The Manchester icon follows in the footsteps of Dave Grohl, The Clash, Paul Weller and The Cure.

Noel Gallagher will be presented with the Godlike Genius Award at this year's NME Awards.

As announced by Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio 1 show earlier this evening (January 23), the singer, guitar-player and frontman of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will pick up the gong at the ceremony on February 29 at London's O2 Academy Brixton. Of his win, Gallagher has said: "I would like to thank NME for bestowing upon me such a great accolade. I have dreamt of this moment since I was 43 years old. I accept that I am now a genius, just like God".

Previous recipients of the award include last year's winner Dave Grohl, The Clash, Paul Weller, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, New Order and Joy Division.

Of the former Oasis man's win, NME editor Krissi Murison says: "For the best part of two decades, the voice of one man has dominated the pages of NME more than any other. That man is Noel Gallagher. Opinionated, intelligent, passionate and always hilarious – Noel walks and talks it better than any other musician out there, and it's just one of the reasons why the British public loves him so dearly."

She continued: "That he keeps pushing boundaries as a solo artist proves that there's a long way to go in the story of one of the most talented musicians Britain has ever produced."

Meanwhile, a special collectors' issue dedicated to Noel Gallagher is coming next month. Produced by the teams behind NME and sister title Uncut, the magazine will feature Gallagher's greatest interviews, unseen photos and a competition to win albums signed by the man himself. The issue will be available on newsstands and digitally from February 2 - click here to pre-order your copy.
