Noel Gallagher
Oasis
The Smiths
Noel Gallagher has taken part in a Reddit Ask My Anything. The popular social media platform allows fans to submit questions to their favourite artists and get real time responses. Noel answered questions over the weekend and, amongst other things, revealed what he believes are Oasis's most underrated tunes.
In response, Noel listed She is Love, Idler's Dream, Let's All Make Believe and Part of the Queue.
Another interesting revelation from Noel was in response to a question about future UK dates, to which he said "I think there will be more dates, but not 'til 2016." Noel and Liam are said to have a "gentlemen's agreement to reform in 2016, but this casts doubt on the rumour.
Noel went on to list his favourite Smiths' songs (which are Rusholme Ruffians, The Queen Is Dead, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, These Things Take Time, Rubber Ring And Asleep) and talk about new bands he's excited about ("There's a band called Neon Waltz that you should check out. I'm not sure...there's a band called Jungle. Fucking hell, they are amazin'").
The former Oasis man also chatted about his greatest musical achievement, which he deemed to be Rock N' Roll Star. "I couldn't say with any great sense of certainty, because it changes every day for me, but I'm going to say the song "Rock & Roll Star" because it sums up everything about bein' young, and bein' in a band, and the hopes and dreams of, you know, a young land from Manchester. And it's a fucking great song."

The former Oasis star and and famous Blue admits he loves David Silva that much - and also wants Bale in and Pellegrini out.
Noel Gallagher loves David Silva so much he would let him have sex with his wife!
The Oasis superstar and lifelong Blue also came up with a three-point plan to resurrect City’s title fortunes – including sacking Manuel Pellegrini and buying Gareth Bale.
Gallagher was speaking as a guest on NBC Sports’ 'Men in Blazers' show when he revealed the startling depth of his affection for City’s little Spanish wizard.
Asked to name his favourite player, Gallagher plunged straight in, naming Silva, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure, and then added, of Silva: “I’d let him have sex with my wife.”
One of the interviewers then remarked that Silva is one of those players who, no matter how much you hate their team, you cannot help but admire – and suggested that Gallagher might look at United ace Juan Mata in the same way.
Naughty Noel was having none of that: “No, I look at Juan Mata and think ‘F****** t***’” he replied.
He was then asked how City could be “fixed” after a trophy-less season and came up with his three-point plan.
“Number one, they need to buy four new players,” said the former Oasis star. “Number two they need to sell four old players. And number three they need to maybe look at a new manager.”
When pressed on which players and manager he wants to come in, Gallgher picked out Real Madrid star Bale and Bayern boss pep Guardiola – with Carlo Ancelotti as a possible back-up plan.

Liam Payne
Noel Gallagher
Oasis
One Direction
Taylor Swift
Zayn Malik
Noel Gallagher has finally reacted to news that One Direction's fifth album will sound a bit like Oasis, and his response may just surprise you.
Believe it or not, the famously grouchy musician “cannot wait” to hear the boyband's first offering without Zayn Malik because he's intrigued to learn exactly what they mean by “Oasis-y”.
“What if it's brilliant though?” Gallagher told HuffPost Live. “What if it's amazing?”
Liam Payne revealed last week that work on 1D's next album is “coming together really well” and will boast some “great, great songs”.
“It's kind of like a bit Oasis-y almost, which is ace. I love that,” he told Capital. “The songs have come out a bit more chilled because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime.”
Whether or not Gallagher will join the devoted Directioners upon hearing the new songs remains to be seen, but one thing he “doesn't agree with” is streaming.
“I'm on it. I'm not going to be the only person stood outside the sweetshop, banging on the window spitting," he said, before being reminded that Taylor Swift has already pulled her music from Spotify.
“How is the world going to survive that? Are we going to send in the UN peacekeepers to wherever she lives and make her change her mind?" Gallagher joked. “I feel frightened that Swiftie has done that."

Noel Gallagher
Oasis
Gallagher told fans on a social networking chat site that Manchester is a city that taught him not to dream.
Noel Gallagher believes Manchester will never produce another band as big as Oasis, he has told fans on a social media website.
Noel gave over a bit of his Bank Holiday weekend for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on social networking website Reddit, and told readers he “lived in hope” that the days of great northern rock bands wasn’t over.
Answering a question from madferitNYC, Noel said: “I think that the days of a rock band explodin’ out of a council estate in the north of England and going on to connect with so many people in so many countries around the world... I think the chances of that happenin’ again are very, very slim.”
The 47-year-old - who hosted the online chat to promote his world tour and second album with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Chasing Yesterday - also said the city he grew up in had taught him not to set goals.
“Where I came from, and the times that I grew up in, it was best not to have any ambitions. It was quite a bleak time,” he said, in answer to a question from user Gusrodlopez.
“I never had a life goal until I wrote Live Forever. And then when I wrote Live Forever, I wanted to be in the biggest band in the world.”
Noel also answered questions about his music tastes, streaming websites, his favourite foods, and whether he’d consider a duet with his cat Boots. Chuckling, he said: “Eh...Boots is an arrogant little ****... He’s been ignoring me for the last ******* five years.
“Me and Boots could never work together. There would be too many ‘artistic differences’.”
Noel’s famous sense of humour was obvious right though the virtual talk. In response to a question about his pre-show warm up routine he said, “I sing The Macarena. I do some yodelin’. And then I finish with Crazy in Love by Beyonce”.
And when one user asked if it ‘bothered him being considered a veritable sex god’, he replied, “It’s a cross I have to bear. And unfortunately... you know, it’s a long road that I will have to carry this cross down. But I could think of worse things to be”.
He credited his Irish roots for his fast wit. Asked about what he found funny, he said American TV show Seinfeld - “The greatest thing that’s ever been on television” - and “dogs in hats and sunglasses - there is NOTHING funnier than a dog in a hat”.

The Smiths
In an online chat with fans, the former Oasis guitarist and songwriter talked about another bunch of Manchester greats, The Smiths, and which of their tunes he loves the most.
Ever wondered which songs top Noel Gallagher’s Smiths playlist?
In an online chat with fans, Noel named There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, The Queen Is Dead, Rusholme Ruffians, These Things Take Time, Rubber Ring and Asleep as the best songs that Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce wrote during their short five year career.
“Amongst others,” quipped Noel, who has recently welcomed Johnny Marr on stage with him at some of his solo shows, at the end of the list.
The Smiths, who released four albums between 1984 and 1987 and had more than a dozen hit singles including Panic, How Soon Is Now? and This Charming Man, often top reader polls as the Manchester band most people would like to see reform - alongside Gallagher’s own Oasis.
In the same chat, on website Reddit, Noel also confessed a guilty admiration for 1980s pop band Tears For Fears and said he’d love a chance to duet with Pink Floyd’s Dave Gillmore, Yardbird’s guitarist Jeff Beck and Davie Bowie.
“If he (Bowie) would even shake a maraca for one tune, that’d be great,” he said about the 1970s superstar.
On classical music, Noel expressed an admiration for celebrated conductor Ennio Morricone - famous for his soundtracks to films such as A Fistful of Dollars, Once Upon A Time In The West, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.
“I’ve seen ’im twice in the last five years,” Noel said. “And his music does bring a tear to my eye. I think he’s a genius.
“Like me.”

Noel Gallagher
Oasis
On Friday, Noel Gallagher was the latest musician to take plunge and participate in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything). The outspoken Oasis guitarist delivered with a number of spectacular quotes, including a declaration regarding his place within rock and roll’s hierarchy.
Asked how he feels being “one of the last true rock stars,” Gallagher responded, “It feels good to be one of the last rockstars,” adding, “In fact, that’s what I am.”
In a related question, Gallagher was asked whether a rock band in 2015 can reach the popularity of Oasis, to which he replied, “I think that the days of a rock band explodin’ out of a council estate in the north of England and going on to connect with so many people in so many countries around the world… I think the chances of that happenin’ again are very, very slim.” But he added, “We live in a world of hope.”
He also believes “rock n’ roll has turned into – or been turned into – a thing that is now referred to as ‘modern rock,'” adding, “I just think that the attitude, and the spirit, that we had is definitely disappearing.”
Elsewhere in the AMA, Gallagher declared Oasis’ third studio album Be Here Now “shit .. And I’m allowed to say that because I fucking wrote it.” Despite that, there will be a reissue of Be Here Now in the near future, which will include “The Mustique Demos.”
As for an Oasis reunion, while Gallagher didn’t address it specifically, it definitely seems like it won’t be happening anytime soon. Gallagher told fans he expects to tour with the High Flying Birds well into 2016.
Also unlikely is a collaboration album with Damon Albarn. Despite previously suggesting a joint album was a realistic possibility, Gallagher isn’t so sure now. “The thing with Damon was a flippant comment as casually thrown around as ‘We should go for a drink.’ As for makin’ an album, I would be amazed if either of us ever had the time to make that work.”
