Foo Fighters Will Agree To Glastonbury If Oasis Reform

Foo Fighters have said they'd agree to headline Glastonbury if Oasis reformed to also play the festival.

Dave Grohl revealed that the group haven't yet been asked to top the bill, but would say yes if Liam and Noel Gallagher played, and Prince agreed to be the third headline act.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 he explained: "If Prince does it, and Oasis does it, you've got the Foo Fighters, how about that?"

The singer says he hasn't spoken to organiser Michael Eavis or his daughter Emily about headlining, but is interested as Foo Fighters haven't played Glastonbury since 1998.

"He hasn't called me. I mean, I don't want to give out my phone number on air, but I like playing shows! I've been to that festival before. It's pretty fun. We'll see what happens. We'll get a conference call happening, we can work this out. Imagine Prince and Oasis on the telephone, that would be amazing."

As a huge fan of Oasis, Dave has toured with the brothers and spent time with them away from the stage, and is sure the sparring brothers could put their differences aside for the festival.

"In America Oasis sort of crept up on us, and it was one of the first times that an English band became massively enormous in a really long time. We ended up seeing them and playing shows with them and I got to know them a little bit. I love them as people, they're the sweetest people in the world. I know they have this sort of reputation of being brash and nasty, but I don't think they are. I've watched them live and there are not that many bands that can just stand there motionless and make 100,000 people go bananas, and that comes down to the songs. When your songs are that good, you've got something good going on. I miss them.

"If Taylor Hawkins and I can be in a band together, I'm sure that they can be in a band together too."

He was seen giving £50 notes to homeless men in Hampstead yesterday after an all-night bender.

An onlooker said:“Liam was in really high spirits and had been out partying all night.

“He and Debbie were singing and dancing, and then got chatting to some homeless men.

Roger Daltrey Believes Oasis Will Reform

Roger Daltrey is convinced that Oasis will reunite, because they have nothing better to do with their time.

The Who frontman performed alongside 'Wonderwall' rocker Liam Gallagher on Tuesday (11.11.14) and admitted that he is convinced that the band will get back together at some point in the future.

Talking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: ''I've got no doubt Oasis will reform. I've never had any doubts.''

The 70-year-old singer - who will embark on a final UK tour with his bandmate Pete Townshend later this month - continued, saying that the 42-year-old musician has nothing else to do apart from get back together with his brother Noel Gallagher, and the other Oasis members.

He said: ''I just know groups, in the end they'll start to think, 'why not?' It's what they do! What else is he going to do, become a painter decorator?''

However, Roger shut down suggestions that he would record an album with him, like he did with Dr Feelgood star Wilko Johnson earlier this year.

When asked whether a collaborative record could be on the cards, he replied: ''No, no no no. That was a one-off success story.''

Liam and Roger both performed at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on Tuesday (11.11.14) in a concert which celebrated the 50-year career of the 'My Generation' rockers, to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which Roger is a patron of.

He gushed: ''That was a great night. Really, really good fun. It was just wonderful.''

Talking at 'The Who in Virtual Reality' event at The Goldhawk Club in Shepherds Bush, London on Wednesday (12.11.14), Daltrey confessed that, despite the band's huge Mod following, he'd never sat on a scooter in his entire life.

As he climbed on to a scooter which was being used to sit for guests to try out the virtual reality headset, he said: ''I've never even been on a scooter! One of the things is that everybody thinks Ace Faces used to have just a scooter, all of the serious Ace Faces, all of the good looking ones, they used to have mini-vans. Use your imagination! No really, that's true!''

Stop The Clocks is an EP by British rock band Oasis and was released on November 13th 2006.

The EP is a "preview" of the band's compilation collection, also called Stop the Clocks. The EP is led by "Acquiesce", and book-ended by "The Masterplan", one of the B-sides to the "Wonderwall" single released in October 1995. Also included on the EP is the demo of "Cigarettes & Alcohol" and a live version of "Some Might Say" from 1995.

The EP does not contain the song of the same name, and is available only as a one-off collectors edition CD and Double gatefold 7” including an exclusive sheet of stickers. As there are over two B-sides, the EP was not be eligible for inclusion in the UK Singles Chart. Had it been eligible it would have charted at #5 with 20,858 copies sold.

"Cigarettes & Alcohol" (demo) - 4:38
"Some Might Say" (live in '95, venue unknown) - 5:15
"The Masterplan" – 5:22

Noel Gallagher Used To Give Brother Liam Money So He Could Practice Guitar Alone

Speaking at XFM's An Evening In Conversation With Noel Gallagher last week, Noel said he used to give Liam £5 to go away.

Chatting about forming the band to XFM's John Kennedy, Noel said: "We used to share a room, he used to sit and watch me play acoustic guitar. Not once did he join in."

"The was no inkling, not even a twinkling in the eye or a clearing of the throat. To get rid of him I'd have to lend him a fiver. I'd sit there playing the guitar, i'd say 'Have you go nothing better to do?' He'd say 'Lend us a fiver and I'll go out.' It carried on like that for the next twenty years!"

Noel Gallagher's new album, Chasing Yesterday, comes out early next year.

Liam Gallagher Makes First Live Appearance Since Announcing The End Of Beady Eye

He appeared with The Who Band in London alongside Eddie Vedder, Ricky Wilson and Wilko Johnson

Liam Gallagher has made his first live appearance since announcing the split of Beady Eye.

Gallagher appeared at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire earlier this evening (November 11) as part of the The Who Hits 50 tribute night in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, singing The Who's 'My Generation'. Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder also appeared at the event, which saw an all star cast singing songs by The Who of their chosing. Vedder sang 'Naked Eye', 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and lead all the performers - Gallagher not included - in an encore of 'Listening To You'.

Other artists to perform with the house band included Wilko Johnson, Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson, Geddy Lee of Rush, The Strypes, Tom Odell, Amy Macdonald, Andy Burrows and Rizzle Kicks. Ricky Wilson was joined by Phil Daniels, the star of the 1979 film Quadrophenia for 'Bell Boy', which was originally released in 1973.

The Who Band featured Simon Townshend, Pino Palladino, Billy Nicholls, Frank Simes, Loren Gold, John Coury and drummer Zak Starkey, who played with Liam Gallagher in Oasis. At the beginning of the evening Daltrey explained that his bandmate Pete Townshend was not present as he was "at home looking after the dogs. I think he'd rather do anything than hear his songs played back to him! He doesn't like playing them himself!"

Roger Daltrey also performed two of his own songs with the band, stepping in to sing 'Substitute' when the song's guest vocalist for the night - Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield - fell ill. Daltrey finished the night with 'Young Man Blues'.

'The Kids Are Alright' was performed by Wilko Johnson and The Strypes, while Def Leppard's Joe Elliott sang 'Love Reign O'er Me' and Rush's Geddy Lee headed up 'The Seeker', flying in especially for the performance from Canada. Scroll down for a full list of performers and the songs they played.

The evening also featured video tributes to The Who and Teenage Cancer Trust from Paul McCartney and Iggy Pop as well as performances from comedians Johnny Vegas and Rich Hall, and an emotional short film about the work of the charity by Shane Meadows. The evening was compered by BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans.

The evening's setlist was:

'Can't Explain' - Andy Burrows
'The Kids Are Alright' - Wilko Johnson + The Strypes
'Getting In Tune' - Tom Odell
'Behind Blue Eyes' - Amy Macdonald
'Who Are You?' - Rizzle Kicks
'You Better You Bet' - Rich Hall
'5.15' - Ricky Wilson
'Bell Boy' - Ricky Wilson + Phil Daniels
'Love Reign O'er Me' - Joe Elliott
'Acid Queen' - Sheila Ferguson
'The Seeker; Geddy Lee
'Baba O'Riley' - Leslie Mendelson
'My Generation' - Liam Gallagher
'Naked Eye' - Eddie Vedder
'Won't Get Fooled Again' - Eddie Vedder
'Listening To You' - Eddie Vedder
'Substitute' - Roger Daltrey
'Young Man Blues' - Roger Daltrey

Noel Gallagher Criticises Russell Brand And The Public's Unwillingness To Pay For Albums

Noel Gallagher has discussed Russell Brand's political views in a new video interview.

Speaking to Noisey, the former Oasis singer addresses Brand's recent assertions that a revolution is coming and that people should abstain from voting for current political parties.

"Well, I love Russell but he don't half talk out of his arse sometimes," Gallagher says in the clip. "His fine, muscular, pert arse. He does talk a load of shit. I couldn't see him overthrowing a table of drinks. Do you think he's going to put himself in charge? Hmm, I wonder."

He adds: "I was out with him the other night and he says it with a straight face. 'There is going to be a revolution.' And I'm like, 'Fucking hell, mate, give us a shout when you're going down The Mall with your pitchforks and that, I'll come and serenade you with my loot before we eat the Queen. He says, 'Come on mate, back us' and I'm like, 'If you make me the Duke Of Manchester then I'm in'."

Noel also criticises the general public's attitude to music in the modern age and how they are unwilling to pay for albums, comparing the lifespan of a record to that of an overpriced coffee.

"It infuriates me that people are more willing to sit in a coffee shop and spend a tenner on two coffees, talking about the weather with their friends, and that coffee will last 45 minutes, yet they will physically get angry at you for asking them to buy an album for a tenner that will last a lifetime and might tell you about yourself and might even change your life," he says. "It's a strange moment we're in where people are willing to spend money on shit."

Dave Grohl Says That Oasis Are The Greatest Rock Band Ever

Dave Grohl tells XFM's Danielle Perry how it's a "shame" that the Manchester band aren't together any more.

Speaking to XFM's Danielle Perry about the band's new album, Sonic Highways, Dave Grohl explained how he was a big fan of the Gallaghers… and that they should reconsider their split.

"The whole Oasis thing is a shame," he told Danielle. "We all love Oasis. We’ve played shows with them before, where I look at them and think 'That's the greatest rock band I've ever seen in my life'.

"To know that they’re out there somewhere but they won't come together to do the thing that everybody would love so much..."

Grohl went on: "They're fun. They have such a crazy reputation of being 'the Oasis guys', and then you see them at the bar and they show you pictures of their kids. And you’re like 'Wow, they're just normal dudes', y’know?"

Noel Gallagher recently announced his second album with his High Flying Birds, Chasing Yesterday, while last month Liam's Beady Eye revealed that they'd split up.

Fancy Owning An Extremely Rare Oasis Demo Tape For £1,500?

Rare Oasis tapes are to go under the hammer.

The two cassettes include the band’s first-ever demo from late 1991 and January 1992.

Both have a listed price of £1,000 to £1,500 and are owned by broadcaster and TV presenter Terry Christian.

One, described as extremely rare, is a ‘Live Demonstration’ cassette with a Union Jack swirl design insert.

It features four tracks on each side. The insert states that the tracks were 'Recorded in Liverpool sometime in ‘93 except* For More Information: Oasis, 47 India House, 75 Whitworth Street'. 'Special Thanx to Roger Moore & The Two Claggies'.

Noel Gallagher has also marked for Christian the two tracks which he thought would be best for him to play and there are also some handwritten notes on the insert mentioning Oasis playing at Creation Night at the Canal Bar.

The other tape, described by auctioneers Omega as ‘a true piece of Oasis history’, is their first-ever demo cassette recorded with Noel’s handwriting on the labels.

This pre-dates the Oasis 'Live Demonstration' cassette and was given to Christian personally by Noel in 1992 while he was having dinner.

The cassette features early studio demos on one side and an early gig on the B side.

Other lots at the auction on Friday include an original piece of art work by John Squire of The Stone Roses, created using paint and bitumen for a Manchester bands compilation album called Ten from Ten, valued at £1,000 to £2,000.

Regarded as ‘the holy grail’ for Factory Records collectors is the bronze statute 'Little Lewey For New Order' used on the cover of a single, ‘Round and Round’ with an estimated price £1,000 to £1,500. It was designed by Peter Saville and has his initials engraved on it.

There were reportedly only 20 made before they were later reproduced without the inscription by Factory and sold for £40 each.

There is also a rare Smiths poster, an original Hacienda poster and a huge 6ft by 8ft Phil Diggle painting featured in the film 24 Hour Party People - guide price of £1,500 - £2,500.

There is also a rare copy of Joy Division's An Ideal For Living - guide price £800-£1,000.

The auction, which also includes Echo & The Bunnymen amps and equipment, is at 10.30am on Friday at Omega’s offices, unit 3.5 Meadow Mill, Stockport.

Are Oasis Getting Back Together?

Is a Glastonbury reunion part of the Masterplan for battling brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher who want one last chance to shiiiiiiiiine?

It's time to don your parka, practice your monkey walk, and comb your monobrow - Oasis are getting back together, some might say.

Insiders reckon Liam and Noel could be burying the hatchet for a reunion at Glastonbury.

But now insiders reckon that Peggy Gallagher's youngest boys have shaken hands and made up and Oasis are on for a desperate money making much anticipated reunion.

The Sun reports an Oasis insider saying: "Noel and Liam are on speaking terms again so some kind of a reunion could well be a step closer."

They added: "Liam could certainly do with the money. The cash just isn’t rolling in like it used to but his outgoings are bigger than ever...

“Noel doesn’t need the money but it is hard to turn down the buzz of stepping out on the biggest stages in the world, so who could blame him if he eventually changes his mind?

“It is clear he has fallen back in love with Glastonbury and would love to headline that again.”

Glastonbury festival chief Michael Eavis revealed he’s in constant talks with Noel and Liam – who announced Beady Eye had split last month.

Michael, 79, says: “I do talk to Noel and Liam a lot. Wouldn’t it be marvellous for them to relaunch at Glastonbury, now Liam has split from Beady Eye?”

Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, who played guitar in Oasis from 1991-1999 is now in a band with former Smiths' Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke.

Mirror Celeb bumped into him backstage at a Madchester reunion gig for the 50th birthday of Stone Roses axeman Aziz Ibrahim. When we quizzed him about an Oasis reunion Bonehead said he was "sworn to secrecy."

He told us: "I love Beady Eye. I love Noel's High Flying Birds too. But I can't say anything about a reunion.

"I'm sworn to secrecy."

"Besides, I'd be the last person to know."

"But I might offer to come back as band psychiatrist, wear a white coat and drive a bus!"

Gary Neville Trolled By Signed Guitar From Manchester City Fan Noel Gallagher

Gary Neville was given a signed guitar from former Oasis man Noel Gallagher recently, which is a great piece of memorabilia to have in your collection.

But unfortunately for Manchester United veteran Neville, City-supporting Gallagher signed it in the most City way imaginable and made sure it would have his mark on it forever.

Neville finally tweeted the pictures on Sunday morning:

And on the back was added a message.

Russell Brand To Record Oasis' 'Roll With It' With Noel Gallagher

Russell Brand has said he will record an Oasis song in response to people who have been likening his recent rants to Blur's Parklife lyrics.

The comedian's tweets containing his thoughts on society have been bombarded by users writing simply "Parklife".

Brand claimed he was not offended by the tweets, but said he was planning to team up with Noel Gallagher to record a version of the Oasis hit Roll With It.

Oasis were famously Blur's chart rivals and had a high-profile battle to top the charts 19 years ago.

In an interview with radio station Magic, Brand said: "I'm a comedian, and I make all my living out of mucking around and talking, and I've certainly tormented people in the past. So yeah, I don't mind that, I think - unless it's malicious."

He pointed out that his sidekick from his old Radio 2 show, Matt Morgan, had similarly said "Parklife" many years ago when he launched into a rant.

Brand went on: "I don't know Damon Albarn particularly, but I've spoken to Noel Gallagher and we plan to respond with a Roll With It single. I'll say 'Roll with it' after every seven words."

The Parklife trend started after the star tweeted: "This attitude of churlish indifference seems like nerdish deference contrasted with the belligerent antipathy of the indigenous farm folk, who regard the hippie-dippie interlopers, the denizens of the shimmering *** temples, as one fey step away from transvestites."

Journalist Dan Barker's response prompted thousands of tweets: "Russell Brand's writing feels like someone is about to shout 'PARKLIFE!' at the end of every sentence."

Blur's song famously features lyrics about getting woken up by dustmen and feeding the pigeons.

Brand said his old pal Gallagher would not be attending his live show at the Royal Albert Hall in London next week.

"I've not invited him, because he's not been supportive enough lately, " he said.

"If he's seen anywhere near the vicinity, I'm going to have someone grab him by the eyebrow, tie a kite to it, and send him off into the ether."
