Spandau Ballet
Hozier has teamed up with Noel Gallagher for a charity single with a difference, thanks to a Dublin radio DJ.
Greg McQuaid, who hosts a popular breakfast show in San Francisco, convinced a host of celebs to lend their talents to raise money for a good cause.
Greg and his team at KFOG FM in California wrote a quirky song entitled Boob Spelt Backwards Is Boob' to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which funds research projects worldwide.
The title came from his co-host Mike Nelson's eight-year-old son.
The project began last January.
Every time a big name came through the studio, Irish Greg as he's known to listeners asked them to take part in the #Boob- project.
Despite having no melody or lyrics, the team aimed to have the song for sale by October to mark global breast cancer awareness month.
Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch was also keen to lend a hand.
Hozier and Gallagher contributed, as did 1980s legends Spandau Ballet.
"Getting Hozier was really huge. When you have one of the biggest artists on the planet involved, convincing others to contribute becomes a lot easier," Greg told the Herald.
"We recorded his part back in April. He didn't have time to come by the radio station so we recorded him at the Masonic where he was playing three sold-out shows.
"It was cute because his tour manager and road crew were all walking around backstage singing the chorus as we were trying to record it."
The song and video will be available on www.kfog.com/boobproject or it can be downloaded from iTunes. It is due to be released on Thursday.

Noel Gallagher
Oasis
Stone Roses
The band is planning a comeback UK arena tour after a six-year break. Other big Manchester bands including the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays have made a fortune through comebacks.
Now the Gallagher brothers Noel, 48, and Liam, 43, plus bandmates Andy Bell and Gem Archer, are in “serious talks” to follow suit.
Our source said: “Other bands have reunited and had a fantastic pay day so it makes sense for everyone involved.
“It has been discussed seriously – it’s only a matter of time.
“It is looking so certain it is worth betting on for next year.”
Noel and Liam have made up following the arguments that led to the band’s split. In March, Liam revealed they had healed their rift after tweeting a picture of himself holding an Access All Areas pass for Noel’s gig with his band High Flying Birds.
They had reportedly settled their differences in January during a family wedding in Ireland.
The brothers famously split after a series of rows between them.
Noel quit the band in 2009 after cancelling a gig at Paris’ Rock On Seine festival just hours before they were due to play. He left Liam and formed his new band.
His brother went on to start Beady Eye with Gem, 48, and Andy, 51.

David Beckham and Noel Gallagher put aside their club allegiances to share a three-course meal with friends at plush pizza restaurant Lucali in New York this week.
Becks is currently over in the States, having delivered a passionate speech at the United Nations in the Big Apple on Thursday, urging world leaders to do more to help help disadvantaged children.
The former Manchester United midfielder posted a photo of him with his hand on the shoulder of the former Oasis lead guitarist, who is an impassioned Manchester City supporter, with the caption: 'Another great night at Lucali. Thanks to Mark and the girls'.
Appearing on an episode of The Graham Norton Show earlier this year, Beckham revealed he was a self-confessed fan of the Manchester rock band and agreed to appear in the next music video for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
'Obviously there's a big Manchester divide between United and City, but when I used to play for England I remember Noel being at one of the games and I went up to him and shook his hand, so of course I'll be in one of your videos,' he said on the chat show.
It is not known whether the pair have acted upon this revelation, but the former England captain would appear to at least be working on his budding friendship with Gallagher at the popular neighbourhood eatery.
Beckham looked in the mood to unwind after a busy week in which he gave a speech at the launch of Voices of Youth, a global community of youth bloggers giving young people the opportunity to learn about development issues.

Noel asked David Holmes to remix 'The Girl With The X-Ray Eyes' and when he received it back he absolutely loved it... David organised a local school choir to re-sing the vocals. Many thanks to the The St Michael's School Project.

David Holmes explains how the track came about: "When I first heard 'The Girl With The X Ray Eyes' I immediately heard the influence of David Bowie's 'Space Oddity' which made me think of another great version by the Langley School's Project...after listening to the lyrics on repeat for a few hours I thought they had a real picture book sensibility so I called my daughter's primary school choir. The kids rehearsed for 5 days and I stopped by and recorded it in their assembly hall."

The Stereophonics frontman talked about Noel Gallagher not being invited to Kelly's wedding. Speakers:
CM ' Chris Moyles
KJ ' Kelly Jones
CM: How was the wedding? I wasn't invited so I wasn't there.
KJ: The wedding was good you should have been there. I didn't know where you were. I thought you were dead.
CM: I wasn't dead! That's terrible. Noel Gallagher was in on Monday and we were talking about you. I went 'Did you go to Kelly's wedding?' He went 'No, I don't know if I was invited!' I went 'Are you sure, because I would imagine you were invited!'
KJ: You can invite Noel to many things but he doesn't often turn up.
CM: I have friends of mine who were there and they told me it was a phenomenal wedding.
KJ: I was on tour at the time, so I didn't actually have a lot to do with organising it.
CM: I'm not going to let this go. It was either you or Jackie, you had nothing to do with it, so you're saying the reason I wasn't invited was Jackie.
KJ: We didn't know where you were.
CM: It's not like I joined the army, its not like I disappeared
KJ: You just disappeared off the face of the earth, I thought you were in America, I didn't know where you'd gone mate. Where did you go? Where have you been?

While other festivals strain to pack their bills with edgy young artists, Bluesfest has again done what it does best: mined some of the most influential acts of the past 50 years to steadily assemble a line-up that seems to guarantee another memorable event.
Bluesfest promoter Peter Noble has confirmed veteran Welsh pop emperor Tom Jones, American country rock legend Jackson Browne and one of the contenders for his crown Jason Isbell, peerless English songwriter Noel Gallgher (and his High Flying Birds), Bob Marley's band the Wailers (with Dwayne Anglin singing) and country-blues champion Steve Earle would join those previously announced.
Jones, 75, has slowed his impressive workrate in recent years but is the undoubted major headliner.
He has sold an estimated 100 million albums and 20 top 10 hits in the UK. His show is sure to be a big, glamorous affair.
Other names added overnight to the event, which will be held at Byron Bay from March 24 to 28, include American folk-rockers The Decemberists, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy (appearing with his son Spencer) and emerging blues-rock Queen Grace Potter.
Last month Noble's first announcement included: indie-rock greats the National, Dallas Green's City and Colour, UB40 (the version with original lead singer Ali Campbell), blues rock hero Joe Bonamassa and blues-rock supergroup the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
The two announcements so far give the 27th Bluesfest its strongest country-rock flavour yet, although Noble also announced the indigenous arts and culture festival Boomerang would be part of the five-day event.
Bluesfest tickets range in price from $159 for a Thursday-only pass to $525 for all five days. They can be purchased here.

"Little By Little" is a song by British rock band Oasis, first released as the sixth track on their fifth studio album Heathen Chemistry. On September 23rd 2002, it was released with "She Is Love" as the first (and, so far, only) double A-sided single by the band, peaking at #2 in the UK Singles Chart Noel Gallagher provides lead vocals on both tracks, which he also wrote.
"Little By Little" was perhaps the most controversial song on the album, receiving mixed reviews from those who felt it was a classic example of an upbeat Oasis anthem and those who felt it was a twee, patronising, sycophantic melody. Regardless of this, the song managed to peak at number two in the UK charts based largely on the publicity garnered by the song.
The promo video to the song featured a guest role by Robert Carlyle. The cover art for the single is an homage to Robert Indiana's LOVE artwork.
She Is Love
"She Is Love" is a song by British rock band Oasis, first released as the ninth track on their fifth studio album Heathen Chemistry. In September 2002, it was released with "Little by Little" as the first double A-sided single by the band, peaking at #2 in the UK Singles Chart. The song was written about Noel Gallagher's girlfriend Sara McDonald and is a light, acoustic song about being in love.
Gallagher claims it was written in the Buckingham Gate Hotel in London, and that it took 30 minutes to complete. The band commissioned British fashion art director Rachel Thomas to make a promo video for the song. However, the resulting film, a mix of animation and live action, has never been released on any format.

Noel Gallagher
Oasis
Chris Moyles asked the Mancunian legend the question that’s on everyone’s minds. Well, if you had Noel on your show, you would, wouldn’t you?
“When’s Oasis getting back together?” Moyles asked Noel, who was a very special guest on the very first Radio X breakfast show this morning (Monday 21 September).
“I would think probably not in the very near future,” replied Noel, choosing his words carefully.
Asked by our man Moyles if he’d never say never, Gallagher added:
“One should never say never, should one look like a bit of an idiot somewhere down the road, when you’re waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion in The Sun!”
He admitted that he’d not even spoken to his brother Liam was when Manchester City won the Premier League in 2014.
“It’s not something I’m even remotely thinking about. Neither’s anyone else, as a matter of fact.”
In fact, Noel Gallagher has other shows to be plannning.
This morning, Chris Moyles announced The Radio X Road Trip With Chris Moyles, which will see the breakfast show head out to various cities around the UK with some very special shows.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will play a huge homecoming gig at the O2 Apollo Manchester on 2 December. His special guest will be the legendary Johnny Marr, plus Neon Waltz and Pretty Vicious are also on the bill.

Tony McCarroll
Noel Gallagher momentarily raised our hopes for an Oasis reunion during an interview on Radio X on Monday, only to dash them again in the the same breath.
Noel was a guest on Chris Moyles’ breakfast show on the new radio station’s launch day, when he was quizzed about the rumours that he’d buried the hatchet with his brother Liam and was planning on reforming Oasis.
“Probably not in the very near future,” he explained. “One should never say never though…”
So far so possible. However the musician then added that it would take rather a lot of wonga for him to even entertain the idea.
“When someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion,” he added.
Boo.
He continued: “I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it [an Oasis reunion] but there’s one that wouldn’t…me.”
“I do say ‘we were together for 20 years, if you didn’t see us, tough’. I didn’t get to see the Sex Pistols.”
Noel, who last performed with Liam in 2009, also denied reports he was back on speaking terms with his younger brother.
“[I last saw him] when City won the league about 8-9 months ago… I don’t hang out with my family, I never did.”
Earlier this year, rumours began to fly that Oasis were planning on reforming without Noel.
A source told The Sun: “It’s very early days but the wheels are in motion. Liam, Guigsy, Bonehead and Tony are all interested and keen to see how it can work.
“They don’t seem to mind Noel not being on board, even though some fans won’t regard it as a proper Oasis reunion.
“But as Noel wants no part in the band, it’s the closest they are going to get to a full-scale comeback.”

Noel Gallagher Hasn't Ruled Out An Oasis Reunion
Boo.

Oasis
An Irish pub-owner in London wants Oasis star Noel Gallagher to come back and finish his drink – from 1996.
Gallagher, who was born to Irish parents in Manchester, had a Jack Daniels and Coke in the Dublin Castle Bar in Camden Town after playing some songs from a demo for friends in the pub.
In an unusual move, the controversial star left half of his beverage behind with a note, thanking the bar staff for the drink.
Now, pub owner Henry Conlon is hoping the former Oasis frontman will come back to finish his JD and Coke.
“Noel came in and asked to play a demo, I think it was ideas for Be Here Now,” landlord Henry Conlon told The Camden New Journal. “He didn’t finish the drink and my mum said, ‘He’s important, let’s keep his drink’, and it’s still here now. Maybe Noel could come back and we can have a 20-year reunion, and play a few songs in the back room.”
Next year will mark the two-decade anniversary since Gallagher’s trip to the pub, so Mr Conlon is hoping the reunion will take place before then.
Gallagher is not the only famous face to grace the popular London pub.
Over the years since opening, the Dublin Castle has hosted gigs by international superstars from Amy Winehouse to Blur.
So far, Gallagher has yet to respond to the offer.

Noel Gallagher has called on the United Nations to take action in the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis.
Thousands of people, including many families with young children, have been left stranded after leaving war-torn Syria and attempting to seek refuge in Europe. After initially saying the country would not accept any more refugees, the British government backtracked and announced plans for 20,000 people to enter the country in the next five years.
Speaking to NME at the AIM Awards in London last night, Gallagher was asked what he made of the UK's response to the crisis. Gallagher offered no opinion on PM David Cameron's decision to allow a relatively small number of refugees into Britain but did, however, offer criticism of the UN and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
"What I find fascinating is that the United Nations are sitting on their hands and no one has said a fucking thing about it," Gallagher said.
"What on earth was that assembly set up for, if not for things like this? It's a disgrace that the United Nations have not even called an assembly to ask, 'What is the world's reaction to this?' I think this is going to break up the European Union. And the only person that's going to benefit from that is Putin. He wants to break up the European Union so he can get the Soviet Union back together. That's what's going to happen."
Gallagher is the latest musician to speak out about the Syrian refugee crisis. Bob Geldof offered to take in four families immediately while U2's Bono said that "Europe will be no more" if the crisis is not dealt with properly.
Meanwhile, a campaign protesting recent right-wing arson attacks on refugees in Germany could lead to a punk band from the ’90s topping the country's singles chart this weekend.

Sam Smith
Noel Gallagher has said that he would record a Bond theme "in a heartbeat" if asked to.
It was announced yesterday that Sam Smith will release the official theme for new James Bond film Spectre with his song 'Writing's On The Wall' expected to be unveiled soon. Smith worked with Disclosure on the song, having previously denied his involvement in the project.
Speaking to NME at last night's AIM Awards, Gallagher laughed when told of Smith's involvement with Spectre.
Asked if he would record a future Bond theme, Gallagher was keen: "If I was asked," he said. "Fucking too right. I'd record a Bond theme in a heartbeat. But they usually want people who are famous in America, don't they? I'm only famous in Manchester. And bits of south London."
Smith had previously – and repeatedly – denied that he will be involved with the 24th Bond film, which is out on October 26. Just last week the singer told BBC Radio 2's Jo Whiley that he was "definitely not" working on the project. "That's not me. That's definitely not me," he said. "I've still got loads to do, I've got an Australia tour, but I kind of finish in December which is great, it gives me a chance to be in London, be in my home and go out with my friends."
Radiohead were the surprise bookies' favourites to record the theme following an anonymous £15,000 bet being placed on the likelihood of them performing the track.

Definitely Maybe was released on DVD on the 6th of September 2004 to mark the tenth anniversary of its original release. It went triple platinum in the UK.
The DVD featured an hour-long documentary about the recording of the album featuring rare and contemporary interviews with the band and its associates.
Also included was the album in its entirety, which included "Sad Song", which was originally only released on the UK vinyl version of the album and also on the Japanese CD edition. Other content included live and TV performances of the albums twelve tracks, and the promo videos to "Supersonic" (UK & US versions), "Shakermaker", "Live Forever" (UK & US versions), "Cigarettes & Alcohol" and "Rock 'n' Roll Star".
A limited-edition release in the UK and Ireland included a bonus DVD containing more live footage and anecdotes.
There was also an accompanying made-for-TV documentary, entitled There We Were, Now Here We Are...: The Making Of Oasis. This was broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK at 11:30pm on Friday, 3 September , three days before the release of the Definitely Maybe DVD. The programme combined existing and unused interview footage from the DVD documentary and focused on the origins of the band, and the four singles from Definitely Maybe.
It also included a very rare clip of "All Around the World" performed live at a rehearsal session in the Boardwalk in 1992, five years before it was eventually recorded and released on Be Here Now. The DVD received the NME award for Best Music DVD. On This Day In Oasis History...

Manchester City have been told: If you don’t win your Champions League group there’s something wrong.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men have been drawn against Juventus, Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach, and many experts expect them to struggle in Europe once more.
But Noel Gallagher insists that viewpoint is absolute garbage.
“When the draw was made everyone was saying it’s a tough group,” he told the Sports Bar. “But if we don’t win that group with that squad of players then there’s something fundamentally wrong.
“Juventus have got great players but with the first XI we can put out we should win that group, easily. We should win all our home games at a canter and remain unbeaten away from home.”
City have started the domestic season in fine style, winning all four of their Premier League games so far, and Gallagher believes Pellegrini is demonstrating his class – even though he feels it could be his last season in charge at the Etihad Stadium.
He added: “I still think he’ll go but, if he was to stay, I don’t think anyone would be that bothered now.
“He seems to have learned his lesson with this two up front business and he’s showing his quality now. I never expected City to play as well as they have in the last four games.”

And Gallagher is delighted with the summer business done by his club.
“We’ve won it – we’ve won the window,” he told the Sports Bar. “The good thing was we got all the targets we identified, even publically. It was no secret we were going for De Bruyne and Sterling.
“Otamendi we didn’t know about until he came, but they’ve kind of pulled it off. Looking at the deals that have been done, I feel a bit for everybody else – apart from United!”
